"Friday the 13th Part VII" has what are probably the most memorable kills in the franchise. Also, Jason's look is terrific (it went downhill after this one) and shows just how much attention went into getting it right for this entry. Looking forward to the discussion on "Part VIII!" Cheers guys!
I’m so glad I found this channel and the long form conversations instead of just the video essays over at JoBlo Horror. Those are fine and all, but I really enjoy these deep dives and real conversations about some of my favorite movies. Great video as always guys!
Yes, my boys, F7 is all that you said and more. I would argue it has the best series recap of all time and it deserves a huge mention. Sometimes I just play that at home because the narration (Crazy Ralph!) is perfect with the montage and it solidly sets up the movie that follows. "People forget he's down there... waiting." Can't wait to watch the other recaps!
Brilliant film, admittedly its one that i saw after I'd seen goes to hell. I done video tape renaissance back in the early 2000s and watched them all in sequence and had no idea there was a film where he fought someone with telekinesis. Anyway, incredible work on this film and it seals the jarvis trilogy perfectly.
Goes To Hell was the first one I saw, but given my age (I was somewhere between 8 and 10, can’t remember. That was 30 years ago!) at the time I loved it and it’s the reason I became a fan of Jason Voorhees.
7 and 2 are my fav entries, I'd say. I don't think I can handle the worms (we got plenty in the revival 6th scene of the 6th). I do want an uncut, but have understood for years why we can't have one even if it were given the go-ahead at this point. Kaisers an awesome heel in 7. Definitely hate him in it (as properly should be felt). He was fantastic in Hill Street Blues, haha. He can play both sides. I grew up with him as Bernie as well, Lance. 😊
A really good entry. Not my favorite; that'd be 6: Jason Lives. But yeah. Man's gotta relax? Bernie Lomax gets all the way relaxed. As does Terry Kiser's doc in this. Btw, if 7 is your jam, you may like the fan film Rose Blood: A Friday The 13th Fan Film. Fair warning: Jason isn't in it a ton. But Terry Kiser's addition to the cast is awesome. Rose Blood. It's really enjoyable.
I think part 7 doesn't get enough credit for it's cinematography. Definitely has the look of celluloid sheen that Prowler brought to the screen. Something digital film just doesn't have and imo probably never will. F13, Halloween and Exorcist all belong on 32mm (or hell 16mm)
I'm on Lance's side for once. I'm behind 7 and 8 to to this day. John says a ton of things I agree with - but I still enjoy 8 for what it is. Hated 9 back in the day, but I can tolerate it these days. 10 was fun... it wasn't F13th anymore.
I still can't figure out why the MPAA would censor R rated films? Let alone horror films which are about "HORROR". John how was Part 6 in theaters? Did the audience love it?
This is my still favorite Jason film, Kane's first go is so awesome, not to mention Lomax as the villain. You got best looking Jason, in my humble opinion, going up against female Professor X. What is not to love about this one, except for maybe the gore getting butchered out of the film.

Great flick. When the final girl has telekinetic powers, you know the showdown is going to be good.
Plus,Kane Hodder is one of the best Jasons’.
I agree with all your positive points on this movie. Part 7 has always been one of my top favorites in the franchise!

The MPAA went through a MUCHO PURITAN phase, it was what it was. Folks LOVED F13 Part 6 on the big screen.
