I have no idea but it seems like it’s a common noise in diesel engines. I’ve heard it on many years of the Cummins 6.7L and common rail 5.9 as well. Something must be going on with combustion at that RPM. I’ve rode many maxxforce 7 buses in the past and always wondered what that noise was.
If an engine is taking care of, it’ll last. Not only that but the majority of what you see needing engine replacements at this time are the VT365s; in no way am I saying the MaxxForce 7s are good, just pointing out a few things.
@@0312Productions I understand your opinion, and you're right. As long as an engine is maintained well it should have a long and healthy life, same goes for the rest of the vehicle no matter what part it is as long as you take care of it it will last for many years to come
@@0312Productions Can confirm, 11-1MB, which has the MaxxForce DT lasted a couple years without breaking down ONCE thanks to Trans-North's excellent mechanics. On the VT365 statement too, that engine is s**t. One of our 05s with VT365, 05-2, is in the shop 80% of the time (Used to be 90% but thats beginning to go down thankfully. Still enough to keep 04-2 as a main bus and 05-2 as a sub)

@@SunsetChaser3 Cummins isn’t that good. However the good thing is that they do seem to go longer before needing anything fixed.
