Theres another sculpters idol you keep walking right by. It's just before the building where you found the shuriken wheel. It puts you much closer to the mini boss.

Super excited for this playthrough! I think the combat in it has such a cool flow to it, tough to get into at first, but it can look so beautiful once you’re really into it. And some of the boss fights are just super super cool.

I'm so happy that Sekiro was the winner of the poll and you are already doing good. Even though I have nearly 250 hours in this game I have never heard the English version before so this will be a new experience for me too. The first playthrough is typically overwhelming so instead of me adding even more technical advice I will just remind you to train with the training NPC (Hanbei). Training really does help. UPD: you missed a checkpoint before zone with the general (at 54:55 you look straight at it).
Also when he does that sweep attack, you can (and probably should) just jump without moving back. When in air you can press jump button again and Wolf kicks enemy's head, it deals pretty good posture damage
And I ran past it so many times 😂

You are gonna have an amazing ride with this one :) ow and the first and important tip is that you can use an item mid battle from the menu.. no stress just press menu and inventory and use item., the battle pauses.. unlike other From games........;)

Either way, Sekiro is great! What they told you is true, you must pay attention in the beginning, but seeing how you managed to not get stomped (unlike me) by Genichiro, I think you won't suffer much.

Ayyyy, even if I look a lot more forward to the dark souls games, I will enjoy this playthrough aswell, especially the last few episodes ;D I'm glad you put it in English! A lot of people prefer Japanese but I also think it's too hard and youre missing out on some memorable quotes that you can only remember in english haha :D Goodluck!

Oh I see you are ready for leaving the souls games aside and try a new type of game, in this case a ninja game which is really cool because there aren't many ninja games like sekiro.
Here Jackie you must forget everything you know about the souls games like dark souls and elden ring, and other similars to these like bloodborne, in sekiro everything is completely different with only a couple of similarities. Here you don't use a shield or roll, here you must learn only 3 things ; the deflection (don't know why everyone calls this parry when it's something completely different :p), the mikiri ability to step on dangerous attacks and most important above all things. The combat. This is what you must learn Jackie if you want to become the ultimate ninja warrior known as wolf, just forget everything you know about the souls games and play sekiro as it is, a ninja game because even miyazaki himself has said countless times that sekiro is completely different from the souls games you know way back before this game came out. Follow this and you will become an authentic master of the sword my friend.
Oh and one more thing : "hesitation is defeat", remember this phrase because it's very important for your new journey here my dear friend.
I hope youre able to get through this game. For me this is the hardest souls game and for some its one of the easier ones Just something about the combat i couldnt quite grasp throught the entire game. I struggled on every boss lool. Probably because i just use the biggest sword i could find in the other games

Looks like Christmas came early this year! (I'm not complaining tho 😆). Ngl, at first I was a bit surprised that Sekiro won, although I'm glad it did. That poll had no wrong answer, honestly 🔥
That said, welcome to Ashina, Jackie! 😁
Everyone's first experience in this game is precious because, as you already noticed, this game is very different from ER/BB, so it doesn't matter how pro you were so far, this game is going to humble you anyway (don't worry, we've all been there 😆), so don't worry if you die a lot or if you feel like you don't understand something. Everything is new. Just give yourself some time and everything will make sense (plus, when the combat makes that "click" inside you there will be no turning back, I guarantee 😊).
In the meantime here are some tips 🤔:
- This may sound silly, but keep in mind that you can re-map the controller if you want 👀 For example, if you are still used to the BB controls, from the config. menu you can switch the use of consumables (such as healings) to the Triangle button. This is important because at first it can be a bit strange and annoying to have to use the D-pad for that.
- In this game stamina does not exist.
- The sculptor's idols are your new Graces. Just keep in mind that activating/using an idol does not imply resting/reviving enemies. Resting is an option IN the idol menu.
- Unlike BB/ER this game is very vertical. Take your time exploring the different areas vertically as well and you will find many things you would otherwise overlook 👀
- You can start many fights against mini-bosses with a stealth dealthblow, taking away the equivalent of an entire health bar in one hit, which makes the fights much easier. So remember to keep stealth as much as you can, especially before am important combat 👀
- 57:18 that message may be a bit confusing at first, but what you need to understand at this point is that there are some attacks that you CANNOT deflect, which are marked with that red symbol above your character. Depending on the type of attack, you can dodge it by jumping/rolling/running. To know how to react, try to look at the enemy's attack animation. It's a matter of practice and muscle memory, so don't feel bad if you fail at first. Which brings me to:
- Get the Mikiri counter ASAP. In terms of your progress in this video you cannot acquire it yet so don't feel pressured, just remember that name for now as it's going to be very important, trust me.
Finally, two things I would like to mention:
- About your questions on Unseen Aid 🤔: Typically, when you died you used to lose your Echoes/Runes and you had to recover them going to the place where you died. In this game this is not the case. When you die (and I mean definitely after resurrection) your money (zen) and your experience (the blue bar shown on the top right side of the screen) are both reduced by half, and there is no way to get them back. To make this not so severe, in this game there is the "Unseen aid" mechanic which gives you a chance (usually 30%) that when you die you will not suffer those penalties. And that is it 😄
- As for the last thing that happened in the episode, well, there is yet another penalty for dying, and this affects the NPCs. Dying in this game can cause your chance of Unseen Aid to be reduced, sickening NPCs in the process, preventing you from continuing with their questlines (yep 😶). There is a way to fix it, don't worry, but for now just keep in mind that that may happen (it is a very random thing really, personally in some playthroughs it has happened on my first death, while in others it has never happened to me 🤷♂).
And that's it for now! 😄 I'm sorry for the essay made comment (as well as the one in the poll 😆), but I hope this information may be useful to you.
Honestly, you are doing great so far. Just have fun, don't worry about doing it perfectly already, practice, be patient and take your time. This game may seem VERY intimidating at first, but that's ok, you're learning and (although again, I can't speak for everyone) if in this process I can help you in any way/answer any question you may have, I will be happy to help! :)

It's a rhythm game, note enemy move and react.
you don't need to move so much.
just perfect parry, jump when sweeped and later on mikiri when available to aquire.
don't mind the hp on most bosses, focus on aggressive combat and fill their posture bar.
don't let them rest and cool down.
the more aggressive you are, the more you'll became a true Shinobi

damn, if she finish bloodborne, sekiro, elden ring then dark souls 1 should be a breeze. but, then again she played smooth well optimized game so much that dark souls 1 could feel so clunky and slow that she might struggle hard. anyways dark souls 1 is way easy game compare to other 3 she played.

You don't really need to move when dueling an enemy. You're just using R1 and L1 with some other actions when necessary. It also helps to be aggressive with attacking. Because if you attack, the enemy will usually block, which fills their posture bar (like the blocking stamina in Elden Ring), and also means the enemy isn't attacking you. Keep attacking, and when you see the enemy make a swing, deflect that shit. It's like a rhythm game.

I disagree. I think Japanese sounds much better. I can't stand the english dub. To each their own.
Still, seciro is too complicated after bloodborn, and dark souls is too simple after seciro. We'll see...
A shame that you won't be able to play in Japanese, a lot of the experience is lost in the language.
Dark souls is becoming old. Still has an amazing level design but fights and game mechanics are outdated.
Dark souls II is horrible and clumsy.
Dark souls III is awesome, but a lot like Elden Ring in game mechanics.
And Sekiro was such a deception. Did not like the ambiance (personal opinion), did not like the level design (very cheap for a fromsoft game). The combat system is cool at the beginning, then once you got it, it shines. But only for a few hours, after that it becomes so repetitive and boring, because it's always the same and you have almost no choice but to play according to the combat system, with your 40cm long butter knife dealing no damage. So death counter it is: cling, cling, cling... Fighting enemies is pointless and tedious, so the game becomes a boss rush. Played it once, have the feeling I played it multiple times because of boss and area recycling, got the true ending, never played it again. Probably never will. I somehow envy people who like this game, but to me it is an average game, not bad but absolutely not a masterpiece, and I find no point in replaying it. But I will watch your videos, after all your RE4 vids made me replay Leon and Ada, so who knows, maybe it will be the same with this game?
