Our justice system is ridiculous. Crimes like this result in a slap on the wrist. They should have to pay for all damage and losses to the victim, PD, property, etc. If they can't pay for it out of pocket right away, STRIGHT TO PRISON
Who's going to pay for this prison? Are you as a taxpayer willing to pay higher taxes to fund their incarceration? (Average cost of incarceration is now around $45K/inmate/year, with the largest percentage of that being the costs of the prison guards and other employees.) Expecting the inmates to pay for their own incarceration is foolishness; the US economy doesn't need people breaking big rocks into little rocks with a pickax anymore, and people like the ladies in this video are not exactly candidates for the kinds of high-tech jobs that actually contribute.)

*To those of you who think that this is ok, it's absolutely not especially if you're like me and a hard worker and don't steal! The reason this hurts us is because in order for the store to recoup the money, they raise the price on other items in the store, and ultimately, us hard working folks are the ones paying for it in the long run so these people deserve jail time AND they should be required to pay back the store 10 fold! If they steal something worth 10 dollars, they should have to pay 100 dollars back!!*
for every 1 item that gets stolen, it takes the purchase of 2 to recoup the loss. stores do have shoplifting insurance, but frequent claims increase insurance premiums, which results in higher prices generally throughout the store.
@@abyssalplanes - You're absolutely correct, which means in the end, even after the store using their theft coverage insurance policy, the store could have, let's say, a policy premium payment for 100 dollars a month (and yes for you stupid people the premiums are in the thousands of dollars! This is just an example!"). Let's say they reported 15 thefts that month. Now, next time, their premium payment is going to be 150 a month, and in order for them to get the money back for that , they raise their prices on everything and anything they possibly can! For instance, someone was stealing milk of all things, and the price back then was 2.65, and after a month, they went up to 3.30 AND they raised the 2% milk AND skim milk prices too even though the person was only taking the regular milk!! That's why I absolutely hate thieves and people who don't understand the concept that we're the ones ultimately paying the price for their B.S!!

Especially due to the fact that they were winding through some pretty dense traffic and actually collided with another car at the end. I hope those people were safe/ok with minimal damage.
That young lady must have left the car before the police went around the corner?? because that most certainly is not the person that was fleeing from the car, the person that ran from the car was wearing black pants, black and white shoes, appeared to be male and didn't have pink hair. The professionalism here is something that needs to be used as a training video for fellow officers. With a bond of $1500 you are basically saying it’s ok to keep committing crimes because the bond will be low and no prison time even after putting countless lives on the line in the chase and running red lights. What has to happen before things change?
Teach children when they're young that stealing will get them in TONS of trouble and then when it does happen, stop going easy. Politicians do not understand that criminals are not stealing food as that was the premise for de-criminalizing retail theft after pandemic. My family runs retail store in NYC, criminals are straight up robbing or they will steal high valued items from store to sell later on street corners. Issue is that insurance goes up when store owners have to file a claim each time they get robbed. Big store retail theft might be a rounding mistake in their books, but for small store owners it is life or death. Id rather they go to prision. While I get your point I fear it would give richer people more carte blanche to get away with things like that.
Who's going to pay for this prison? Are you as a taxpayer willing to pay higher taxes to fund their incarceration? (Average cost of incarceration is now around $45K/inmate/year, with the largest percentage of that being the costs of the prison guards and other employees.) They were caught running from the cops and bailing out of the car on camera, with the stolen stuff in their car. They’re guilty as sin.
They were caught red handed, they are undeniably guilty. The problem is that some stupid prosecutor and judge will let them “plead guilty” in exchange for probation and a small fine (paid for by stealing). Then they can go right back to stealing again the next day.

My family has closed down the store in NYC even when there is couple of years on lease and have opened a store in Texas. It is like starting from 0 again and it is not easy.
