Body language is really a giveaway. Ears back, dilated pupils and staring at you with little to no blinking are usually signs of an angry kitty.

You kidding? They're predators by nature, built to kill & survive in the wild. This is basically nothing compared to the viciousness these cats are truly capable of. Even with that in mind though, a Caracal's hiss is a bit different from traditional cats. They use it more as a more general form of communication rather than only when they're angry. Sometimes they will hiss even when they're not agitated at all, just excited or something. Don't get me wrong, they'll still hiss when angry like other cats, but they use their hiss for a lot more than just that.

Not saying i would do this, i love animals too much to hurt them, but: This is really nothing my boot and my weight couldn't sort out. Even in the wild. Sure, it might attack you and bite you, but you're a human and therefor way bigger and stronger than it. Well, if it's smart enough to get your neck you might actualy be fucked, but if it bites your leg you just stomp it as hard as you can and it's over. Or if you're fast, strong and big enough just catch it with your hands and break its neck. Faster and probably less painful for the poor thing. Of course, the first thing to do should always be trying to get away calmly so the animal won't attack even if you could end it without a problem. No need to kill something if you can prevent it. Different with big cats like lions, panthers, tigers or jaguars though. No matter what you'll try, you're done for. Probably best to just "speed pray" to your god, if you have one, and hope the big cat will end you before it starts dinner, lol.
