- GWM flew me to Melbourne to be one of the first to drive the TANK 500. After seeing what I could do with the 300, I was excited to see the upgrades. Here's what I thought about it!
TANK 500 will absolutely fking RULE !
I can’t wait .
CarSauce did 0-100 twice at 6.97 and 6.93!!
But Paul only got 8 seconds. Someone is wayoff 😂
You only need to tap the sunroof button to open no need to hold the button , it also opens half the way and longer press on button or 2nd tap opens all the way . Also it should shut when you reach 110km/hr
Good tip
The car will also open it by your voice command, no need to take your eyes off the road
It is not a camera it is a sensor which can be turned off in settings
Nice to see you , but I’m interested in the TANK 500
i would pick it over prado 250, money for value plus dont need to wait few years for delivery
Same as the HEV Tank 300 - I put a sticker on the camera to stop the fatigue warnings. Also turn off the annoying lane keep assist.
No need to turn off lka u can adjust in settings to just vibrate in wheel, I don’t even notice it . U can also turn off fatigue monitor and it stays off
@@wcrash9361 just tested fatigue monitor - stays off :) Thanks! There is lane assist options, but the Emergency Lane Keep Assist (ELK) in the HEV jerks the wheel. Gotta turn it off. Is your the HEV. I drove both the dash and settings options in both vary a lot.
Mystery car - Tank 700 🧐
Do the rear wheels come off the road when breaking, like the 300😅
Stupid comment , already been debunked
mystery car would be the new ute? 😅
Maybe yes, maybe no
@@DASHOffRoad How was the lane keep assist and ELK on the 500? It's bloody annoying on the 300 - it's great on the cannon, hope the alpha/shanghai is the same
Every review seems to indicate the HYBRID is underwhelming in the power performance. The powerplant setup would seem insufficient for a vehicle of this size.
Three other car reviewers like yourself did the testing on the tank 300.
Also JC had those on his channel. Its an issue which was higlighted during some reviews when doing emergency stops, yours may not do it because you modifoed the front suspension.
If this is a soccor mum car i see many reviewers comparing it to Landcruiser and the Patrol. Its no were near theyre cpability.
Your very wrong, this car is standard no modifications , and the credentials on this car far outweigh anything put out by Toyota
There is no issue with braking so no use rehashing that . Been tested by many people overseas and in Oz and noon could replicate it but some reviewers did get that result from many other similar cars
Maybe last a year before you start crying 😢
Its basically just a bloated 300. LOL.
Nothing like it
If you want to compare it, no towing capacity, no range, 300kg plus weight, less payload, less comfort, worse fuel economy, minimal service parts backup,
Less reliability, less after market accessories, built for city slicker, less of 4X4.
On positive it has more tech and smaller engine, tows less, city car with weekend warrior image.
Yes just like a L300, in your fantasy. Doesn’t even make a L150 competitor.
@@bushmagpie3312 everything you just said is false lol
im exited have a prado on oder but im gonna wait c the tank ....
Cmon we know the Cannon alpha is the mystery car.
He won’t like that coz it will be a diesel hybrid
The mystery car I drove wasn’t diesel 🤫
@DASHOffRoad ok so it's the hev alpha. Or tank 400???
@@dgd05 Its the same petrol electric that is in this :)
Tank 330
Is the mystery car Tank 700?
No it was the new cannon , tank 700 only just got released in China , no mystery plenty of videos reviewing it
u need a better mic....
I’ll stick to the y62 👍
If only there is a dual cab version of Tank 500
If only 🤫
Very soon...will be on my shopping list
68k NZD ready to order, hybrid 2l with 3.5 T towing ❤
Wow… “Diesel doesn’t have a place in this world”, probably the most inaccurate statement I have heard you say to date.
Diesel is a cleaner and more efficient burning fuel, and without it we would have no transport industry.
Petrol is good, diesel is much better at creating torque, and for someone all about towing I thought you would have known this
Diesel is nothing compaired to PHEV. And the PHEV is nothing compaired to DMO by BYD
It’s just my opinion, I hate diesels
@@DASHOffRoadlegitimately interested in your reasoning for this. It’s the most power dense mainstream fuel. Longevity is unrivalled and modern diesels have wicked power delivery. And fuel economy is still better than even the best Phevs
@@hypotheticallywhatiskyle I just don’t like the way diesels drive in comparison to a petrol. This is just my opinion though, I’m not trying to convince anyone
@@DASHOffRoad litre for litre a diesel is higher output KW/NM with less fuel usage.
Also petrol requires a lot much more processing than diesel in its manufacture.
Diesels are a simpler engine.
I respect your view though.
"Diesels don't have a place in this world..."?? Biggest understatement of the century!!
I see they payed you for review.
Have you towed your JAYCO with tank 300 with your gear?
Seems like show pony and soccer mum car.
The smaller engines struggle towing. Have you seen the GWM, Navara and Triton towing tests with 3ton?
They struggle up the minor grades, were as the 3L engines just hang in there.
If your after a no tow, soccer mum car that can’t carry any pay load then your review is 70% accurate.
Your tank 300, do the emergency brake test at 80km and rear wheels leave the ground hampering the distance, that’s sounds ideal for emergency situations.
For the record, I wasn’t paid and GWM did not ask me to do a review. You’re right that this car isn’t for the family that frequently tows, or even goes OffRoad. GWM admit themselves that this car will spend most of its time in the city and suburbs, but if it occasionally wants to hit the tracks, it will do pretty well.
Oh, my TANK 300 doesn’t leave the ground under emergency braking, not sure what that clown was doing
@@DASHOffRoad that guy who had the wheels lift off the ground while testing - he had a hell of a time testing the Tank 300 HEV
@@mickspecialalready been debunked, many tank 300 owners were laughing at his video. No one has been able to duplicate that since he made that claim
So far 3 reviewers have done same test and under heavy braking from 80 and 100km/h the rear wheel leaves ground for a second, it’s all to do with spring and damper settings little too soft.
Early review just like your new review.
Most tank owners change the suspension anyway for off road and tyres. Also depends on weight on rear during testing.
Why are most of the reviewers comparing it Landcruiser or Patrol when it’s not in same category?
@@wcrash9361you can’t debunk a video of it happening under braking?
Who are these tank apologists - I’ve driven two now and they are traaaaaash. Cheap build quality, cheap buttons everything feels like it’s about to break. Breaks - terrible, gearbox - can’t make its mind up and feels like it’s about to drop.
Your comment proves you have either never driven or sat in a tank 300 because there is no cheap quality finishes or fixtures.
Ur Comments proves u just talking bullshit 😂😂😂
