Great detailed breakdown of the game. Your video is one of many that actually spends the time to clarify Weiss. Without using the ridiculous jargon that no new player would ever understand, i to this day don’t get why people make “how to” videos and think it’s okay to use advanced terms that take months to a year to really start to understand. Maybe they think it’s cool to use terms that they know others don’t understand, but completely counter intuitive to a beginners video. You sir deserve a Weiss Schwarz medal. Thumbs up and a follow for your hard work 🤙
Thank you I appreciate the kind words ! I wish this wasn’t one hour long but I really couldn’t find a better way to explain it in a way that was understandable without running it through in depth and explaining why things happen the way they do lol . And this isn’t even including going over like abilities and effects of individual cards 🤣. Even after playing the game I feel all the terms are pretty pointless like calling certain effects like BANKAI RIKI INUYASHA or whatever , when you can just easily say mill 4 draw 2 or something lol
This is the third tutorial video I watched. The first one was the official Weiss Schwarz video and I was soooo confused. Thanks for taking the time to explain! It actually makes sense.
Thank you ! I'm glad it made sense for you, I definitely made the video because it made no sense to me no matter how many videos i watched over and over again haha
I really appreciate this video I just got the ATLA structure deck and had so many questions and so very few people that played that could answer them for me so this is an extreme help and I will be saving and sharing this when I see people that need help. yes you're a little redundant but that actually helps in this case.
Thanks ! I am so glad it helped, yea I did notice it becomes redundant but at the same time when learning something I felt like reinforcing it really helps get it right the first time so it just sticks with you and the concept makes sense
Thank you ! I tried to just put info out there for people like me who were just confused on the rules no matter what they read or watched lol I hope it helped and lets you get started on playing the game !
Thank you for the kind words! I was afraid even though I said "easy" that I made the video too long, But I'm glad i was able to explain things enough to make it understandable ! I watched so many other videos and was at a loss no matter how many times I watched so I wanted to give it a try myself ! I hope you enjoy the game!
Yo, thank you very much for this breakdown of how to play I picked up the AoT The Final Season deck a few months ago and my friend and I recently picked up new decks (he got Nezerack... or Overlord, I picked up Guilty Gear Strive) and this video is a huge help to the both of us
AOT final is a great deck to start with ! I was gonna make a video on my deck as well. The finisher level 3 Eren is actually a great starter finisher to learn with since it works really well and isn't complicated to pull off ( just needs him and his climax ). Consider looking at the season 1 and season 2 cards to add into the deck as well !
Thanks ! I definitely also recommend the simulator on pc to get practice games going to get the flow of the rules without having to think too hard as well !
This seems more like Pokemon than MTG. I like it. MTG I feel has way too many variables and ways to play it's really easy to get confused. This game seems a lot easier. Thanks for making this video.✌🏼
Out of all tcgs I've played like yugioh, mtg or pokemon I honestly feel like weiss is one of the "easiest" to pick up and very straightforward while still having "depth" to it for those that seek it. I think the biggest hurdle for this game revolves around finding a good group of people to play it with, since building decks also requires you to "invest in a playset/series" which could potentially be very very powercrept.
Nice breakdown vid! Imagine back in 2012 how absurdly complicated it was to in learn the game with such a small fanbase 😂 anybody plays around the LA area? Its scarce finding people that play lol
I can just imagine getting all the rules wrong playing with friends the first few times haha. Even with the videos already online I still was confused until i broke it down
thanks for this... learning on teh cheap with two 5 buck decks from the Cinderalla idol or whatever it is. "power" and "heart" figured the deck dont matter at first annnd yeah loving the game...know the decks iam playing are trash lol buuut iam learning to teach my tcg friend group (4 other people) and its coming along well.
What happens if you attack a reversed character? For instance Momon from overlord gets a once per turn attack again. Also what is the benefit of spending your opponent's character?
Technically in weiss youre not attacking the character again you're just swinging in your lane again, I would just think of it that way. Even though they are reversed you can attack again in the lane , BUUUUUUT it doesn't count as direct attack since the enemy is still there. So you just regular attack and don't get any bonuses just because they are reversed. As for the benefit of attacking again ? just doing more damage and pushing them further to the next level and towards the end of the game , or aiming for things like a deck refresh etc.
@peanutbutterpandapuffs does their power count? For instance one of the Ainz replaces himself with a Death Knight that might be weaker do I still have to beat the opponents character to not get reversed?
@peanutbutterpandapuffs oh, I just noticed one thing that's incorrect. When you refresh your deck, if it's from the 3 damage like you said, you clock the top card Before you continue to take damage, not after. It's in the comprehensive rules and in the booklet that comes with the trial decks.
Imma answer this anyways just in case ! The Climax GAVE the one extra soul because they PLAYED the climax for the turn, its a bit weird since they went to a tutorial about leveling up and then changed the whole board back to the battle again lol. But pretty much since they played the climax ( could be different, some climaxes effect is like 2 extra soul for one turn for example ), But in this case Meliodas gives +1 soul and +1000 attack to all your characters for one whole turn. I hope I explained it well enough! I tried to break down every turn just so it gives enough examples. But yea if you get confused, can go back to just start fresh from the turn again. Playing a climax is before you do the battling and it applies the effect for the whole battle. Then when you battle , you always count how much soul in total by checking on a list 1) Your Characters base soul damage ( on the bottom of the card ) 2) Your Climax effect ( if you played one ) 3 ) If its a direct attack and Lastly 4 ) When you TRIGGER CHECK. and FLIP OVER THE TOP CARD OF YOUR DECK "Triggering" is always when you attack and flip one card over to reveal if you get the extra soul or not, , as well as if you reveal the climax as a trigger , you get the special effect as well too if it has one.
Hopefully the video helps ! I tried to clarify as much as I could without making it too complicated. I also recommend trying the weiss simulator ! To test and practice against the AI/Computers so you get the ruling down!
I think i did the video before the refresh damage change where they simplified it x.x I'll have to rewatch my video and put a note down in the comments or make a new one at some point. Sorry about that !
Most of the time if you’re not sure the answer is is probably no . Unless you’re really desperate like scenarios where maybe you really need it for the climax combo at the end of the game . Or if maybe if you’re in a tight spot ? Like you just can’t draw any playable cards no matter what . But most of the time you’ll realize if you try reviving cards . It’s too costly most of the time to be worth ot
@asianwingsauce I say try everything ! Don’t let me dissuade you without you trying for yourself . There are definitely certain scenarios where encore is great . At the end of the day card games are like resource management games . If you try encoring a lot . You’ll start to realize when it becomes bad and when it seems useful
@peanutbutterpandapuffs yea very true, I just dont really rely heavily on getting all my climaxes out of stock. Bc even if 2 are in stock with my gura deck they will come back anyways.
@@asianwingsauce Yea even if its my Turn 1 or 2 and my climax is buried in that first stock, I still found it kind of detrimental to try to force pay it out with an encore. Losing 3 stock for MOST scenarios is a pretty big hit and sets you behind a lot. I do recommend as new players to try the weiss simulator ! I made a video about it. Its great for playing out scenarios quickly !
