Haven't been especially keen on pro b-ball over the years...at least not since Clyde and Hakeem with the Rockets and Tim Duncan and crew with the Spurs....Will most certainly be watching the Raptors with Shead. GO COOGS!!!!!!
Came here after the first Raptors preseason game. Shead looked like he fit in seamlessly. He was amazing on the break and was able to set up plays with ease. Also was surprisingly good finishing over bigger players by using the glass and a surprising array of counters. One more game like this and the word will be out - and then we’ll see if he can adjust when everyone goes under the screen and dares him to shoot.
It’s great to hear from the perspective of someone who’s watched Shead for many years. Hopefully he can continue to improve and win a roster spot on the main team and ultimately be a rotation player when the team becomes competitive again.
didnt know anything about him prior to the draft. saw that video of him picking up the trash and i will now be rooting for him to succeed in every facet of life

Struck me as more of a 2 at Kentucky and in NY, but enough Toronto folks w this kind of reply for me to think it’s what he did / does for TOR… which is interesting. Having a Swiss Army knife like Scottie has to help too
Jamal sounds like an extremely hard worker, who plays fierce D. Raptors need players like him. Players who can set the defensive standards, same as Scottie does - as we are light on D. He can develop his offense, it's his D that is going to be key early on. We welcome Jamal to the Raptors and to Canada!
Raps fan here. Cool assessment all around. The 1 thing that should be mentioned is Ujiri tried to trade Lowry to the Knicks 1st but Dolan shut that trade down. Then the Bargniani trade happened. Then I assume that's when Ujiri began to realize what he had in Lowry and how lucky he was that Dolan rejected that deal. Lol If Shead plays with the heart and defending like Lowry did for the Raps then he's going to be a fan favorite.
