I asked permission to dub this February of last year, but couldn't make it in time for Lantern Rite then. I'm so excited I FINALLY get to do this comic this year :') Absolutely adore comics that showcase more of Xiao's softer side, I truly love this pair's trust in each other.

I feel like lumine’s hope is slowly being whittled down, like a file to glass. One wrong move and the whole thing could shatter. Having Xiao as someone she can call on and he will just be there might be comforting to her, considering he is the only one who actually sticks around and can reach her almost anywhere. With everyone else (especially the archons) making her literally SAVE THEIR CITYS and then doing nothing to help her find her twin, he actually kept his promise and came when she called his name. I CAME FOR FLUFF, I GOT FLUFF, I OVERANALYZED FLUFF. I AM FUFILLED.

Some fan fic story also have write about Guizhong.
Guizhong was Zhongli's friend and ally. She was not a powerful deity however she was known as avid inventor, she loves machinaries and technologies. The Guizhong balista on Mt. Tianheng was one of her invention
Zhongli met Guizhong at Dihua Marsh, when glaze lilies still in abundent bloom. They were quickly become ally, although there was no formal contract between them. They was merely two people walking the same path for their own reason. Guizhong brought her people from north of Mt. Tianheng to a new place that she named as Plain of Returnring and Departing. She asked Zhongli's help to protect her people since she a week god. She said: "This little people are small and fragile as dust, because they are weak, they know not when they lose their lives in disaster and strife and so they afraid." "So with your brawn and my brain this new city would become a great one."
Zhongli agreed to rule together with Guizhong. In no time the city grew prosperous, people started called teh place as Guili taken from Guizhong and Zhongli's name.
Then the archon war flares up. Like all of teyvat, Guili also under attacked. Zhongli was desperate to protect Guizhong and their people. He was aware the only way to stop the war is become one of the Seven. Guizhong begged him to stay, but zhongli has make up his mind and left Guili to fight other gods.
While Zhongli was away, an ancient malice attacked Guili. Guizhong faced the enemy alone although she knew she could not defeat the powerful enemy. She fought valiently to buy time for her people escape but the enemy was too strong, at the end she sacrificed herself to protect the people.
Zhongli came to late. On the ruined Glaze lilies field, Where they first met. Guizhong laid there dying slowly. Zhongli embrace the broken body. Using her last strength, Guizhong open her eyes. She smiled to Zhongli a lonely smile.
As her body dissolved into fine dust she said, " it seems that our journey together has come to an end." Guizhong handed her weapon Memory of Dust to Zhongli. "This is the mark of our pledge and it is also my challege for you." "All of my wisdom is stored with in this stone dumbbell." "If you can unlock it...". Guizhong never finish her last sentences. Only dust remained on Zhongli embrace. Rage consumed Zhongli, he defeated te accient malice and burried it deep in the ocean. He kill and sealed countless gods in Guyun.
Archon war came to an end, Zhongli came out as one of the Seven. he brought the people of Guili to settle a new place and created The city of Liyue we have knowed today.
Even after thousand years Zhongli never forget Guizhong's last moment. He never be able unlock Guizhong Memory of Dust nor he would ever learn what might follow her senteces. He embrace it and alsway keep it by his side.
Over the years wild Glazed lilies too, dwindled until at last they are no more.
