To add on to what was said about search man's theme and the gliding notes, the way i see, they appear to sound like they glide back and forth, just like a robot scanning the area back and forth or well, searching. Great video btw, I never really thought about just how much depth MM8's soundtrack had other than "cheesy techno music go brrr".

Never knew MM8 had a diffrent intro song but after hearing it I am glad we got the other version.
video was just randomly recommended to me and i lit up when i saw someone talking about this. I absolutely love this game, i was obsessed with MM as a kid and when my ma got me this game from a secondhand store i was so excited. the soundtrack has stayed with me my entire life and i love every track, shoutouts to the intro stage, frost man, and grenade man.
That's so cool! Mega Man has been a big part of my life too. Those tracks you mentioned are absolute bangers.
Great video... It's too bad not to include a mention of the Wily Fortress 4 theme, since is the "Boss Rush level" I love the fact that it is an "extended" version of the "prelude theme" for the Boss Battles, making a nice transition 👌

Mega Man 8 wasn't my favorite Mega Man game, but the soundtrack was God tier and more than good enough to keep me coming back.
Same here, going through this one was... well... not very easy for someone who's gaming skills are severely lacking 😅

The level of care into this video. I too love MM8 OS.
Would love to see an analysis on MMX6. Such a bad game but one of the best OST of the franchise.
Also there's a remixed version of MM8 opening stage by Metalltool you should check out. It's really good and brings the same vibe as the original
