Ebay has several data server sites which keep the selling data for different locations around the world and the U.S.. It is theorized that when they do randomized updates and maintenance on these sites that it shuts down selling data for a specified number of locations which leads to little or no sales in those regions. As they do not do the maintenance on all the sites at once the regions not affected will have sales while the other regions will not have sales because of data being shut down.
Man you are killin’ it! Congrats! I’m still sourcing I’ve picked a few nothing to special yet just some bread and butter pieces, I really really need to get on the ball with this hustle, my goal is to make enough to pay my monthly mortgage. Your info and insight is really appreciated gives me confidence in resell. Thank you
@@Retired2Resell I'm in a Facebook group called "fragrance marketplace" and everybody was freaking out there about the fee increase. I'm also in a Mercari sellers group and the majority of sellers were saying (crazily in my eyes) that there was going to be no problem with the new fee breakdown. That's not the truth right now
Yeah when I first heard about the change I thought great no more fees. But then I started thinking about it as a buyer and realized that I doubt buyers are going like that at all and probably shop somewhere else.
@@Retired2Resell it just seems Mercari couldn't figure out where to shoehorn themselves... Whatnot took a lot of cheap market share, Poshmark and DePop are pretty much surviving off cheaper women's clothes and pure volume. eBay will always be a top in my eyes because of the variance of used goods
It's very slow for me but its my own fault. Im enjoying the return of garage sales but not listing much. Ebay has a summer slump just because people are busy so that may be coming soon.
I don’t wear a tinfoil hat, so I definitely don’t believe the conspiracy theories about eBay, but I definitely have had days where I didn’t sell anything, and then sell a ton. I’ve also had days with no offers then days with a ton.
@@Retired2ResellI have definitely found this to be true…I’ve experienced it more recently more than ever. I am a part time seller averaging $3,500-4,500 per mo. I have had so many instances where I sell $200/wk and then skyrocket to $1,700 with no real change in my habits. I’m convinced it’s eBay toying with the system.
How are sales on Mercari for you? Is it worth continuing to crosslist or should I just stick with Ebay and Poshmark?
thanks for the repp tie reference. Stored in my knowledge bank lol.
You’re welcome!

Yeah I’ve heard something similar to that. Seems strange for sure! Thanks for the comment!
Summer slowdown is real
Great video, yes eBay has been not great lately! I’m trying to get on Etsy! Do you have a video on your pictures set up it’s very clean
Etsy is a tough one for me. I’ve been working on videos of my photo process. Need to put it all together and edit it. It’ll be coming out soon I hope.
I had that last week too! Nothing and then one after the other on Friday.
Exact same thing happened to me. Strange
Sounds like a lot of people had big swings in sales and traffic last week.
I've had my best week ever... Thanks for helping me keep consistent
Wow that’s great! Nice job!
@@Retired2Resell thanks man 💯

Thank you, really appreciate that. Keep at it and just stay consistent with your listings. That’s a great goal to have…good luck!
My sales are slowly picking up. How many items do you list daily?
That’s good! I list 10 items every day.
@Retired2Resell Thanks. I have to work up to 10 a day, I am currently trying for 5 a day.
Mercaris new fees being put on the buyer made so many people jump away
Yeah I think that seems to be the case with Mercari.

@@Retired2Resell $200 turns to $260 extremely fast now. Which buyer psychology says people mentally round it up to $300

Yep not looking forward to the summer slowdown. I’ve been trying to buy as much summer items that I can find to hopefully help with that.
Mercari is completely dead for me😢 not sure if because all of the changes or what!
Yeah I don’t think the buyers like the idea of paying more fees. Ha
