    Hi guys, be careful with this tutorial because are some uncorrect things. A resistor for the pushbuttons should be 10kohm and not 10 ohm. And for the LEDs should be a 220ohm resistor at least and not 3 x100ohm . If you wire them like that then you have just a 100ohm resistance for your LEDs. But otherwise is a nicely done video with a good music, good job

    I have one of these NIMA 17 motors lying around and I'm gonna use it on a home made table saw to raise and lower the blade! :D . I'm gonna use some 5/8 threaded rod and a lever system to raise the saw so it actually shouldn't be any sweat for this motor. your video is exactly what I was looking for as far as set up and control

      Hey, I'm glad I helped you out with your project, I'm sure it will definitely work.
      Anyway I would suggest you to buy a bipolar Self - Locking Turbine Worm Deceleration DC Motor like this www.amazon.it/gp/product/B078GF339Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for your project because the Nema 17 Stepper motor doesn't have enough electrical resistance to handle something like a saw lifted by a rod in the air connected to the stepper motor.
      By pressing the power button you will absolutely be able to lift the saw in the air but when you will release the botton, the saw would fall down.
      All depends by the weight of the saw because the system could work with a very light saw but with a heavy one I think you better try to set up a Self - Locking Motor.
      I will post a new video on how to set up a Self - Locking motor with the same settings of this project.
      Thanks again for your comment and have fun =)
      Cheers

    Thanks for the video. I am planning on building this setup to motorize a telescope focuser. I would just like to ask regarding the resistors. I see that you get 1/4.. 1/2 and 1 watt. Which will be the best to use?

    • @NProductionHT
      @NProductionHT  6 років тому

      Hi Tiaan,
      thanks a lot for your comment,
      I hope this setup would be useful for you and for your project.
      Anyway I think that 10 Ohm 1/4 Watt are the best resistors to use for the buttons in this project 😀
      If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask,
      Cheers

    sir help me out im making a camera slider and when stepper motor runs negative or GND wire of battery is heating and the battery is getting discharged very quickly like in a Minuit and once the wire also burned im using a 12v batter with discharge rate upto 4A. I checked the connection their is no short circuit, i feel their is something wrong with stepper motor what do you say

      Hey Tauseef ,
      it could be a problem of capacitors or resistors, maybe you are not using the right ones.
      Anyway it' s hard to give an exact answer without informations, I need to know something more about your project.
      Would you be so kind to post a wiring diagram of your project and a list of elements you are using?
      You could even upload a short video on your private youtube channel and share the link here so me and even other people could try to help 😀
      I hope to receive an answer asap so we can try to solve the problem.
      Have a nice day

      It's very simple with this use the change dir pins as the end switch and done you gonna get a looping cycle with speed control. Also you can use other switch to for holding the switch action.

    Also works on a NANO, great job, can i go even higher then 12.000 ?? so motor move more slower ?

    • @NProductionHT
      @NProductionHT  6 років тому

      Hey icewolffinc,
      I'm so happy to hear that it works also on Arduino Nano.
      Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to give it a try myself so I'm glad someone else did it 😀
      Anyway yes, you can absolutely try to go even higher than 12000.
      After several tests I felt that the best number for me was 12000 but you can try to exceed those parameters.
      If you need to run the motor at a lower and smooth speed I suggest you to give an eye to my other video ua-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=WtLXszS7_yY, maybe it can be useful for you to change only the stepper driver and updating the two parameters at the end of the code maintaining almost the same settings for the rest.
      You will find all the infos in the description.
      Feel free to have a look to my new website nproductionht.wixsite.com/nproductionht and to like our social pages.

      EscapeRoomProps Hey thanks for your question. The answer is Yes, you can detach the computer and connect the VIN to 9v on the arduino board. Let me know if it worked for you and for any other questions just ask. Have a great day 😀

    Nice project, trying to build one, but :
    Can this run without the connection to the computer, so disconnect usb cable, and connect 5v to arduino ??
    Serial.begin(9600); i see this line in code so started to wonder .

    • @icewolffinc
      @icewolffinc 6 років тому

      build it, and runs fine without usb cable connected, know i gone try to connect a nano and test it, and connect a extra switch so i do not have to push the button constantly. Thank you a lot, most vid have the a4988 but no extra buttons and pot.

    • @NProductionHT
      @NProductionHT  6 років тому

      Hey icewolffinc, thanks a lot for your comment 😀
      Yes, you can connect a simple 5 Volt power bank to power your Arduino Uno.
      If you want to power the stepper motor and get a portable version you need to connect a 12 Volt \ 2 Ampere battery to the motor like this for example www.amazon.it/Velamp-23724-Batteria-Ricaricabile-Attacchi/dp/B00PVJJOMU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1527021129&sr=8-2&keywords=12+volt+2+ampere+batteria.
      I hope this helps you and if you need more help just ask, I'll try my best to answer your questions 😎

    Great tutorial 😁 I'm building one at the moment off someone elses plans that didn't quite work so this helped a lot 👍 would you know the difference in code if i was to use a switch for the on off instead of a button and still use a button for direction change. Also no diferences in input connections if I'm using a mega2540? Thanks in advance, subscribed and thumbs up!

    • @NProductionHT
      @NProductionHT  6 років тому

      Hi Rookie Reefer,
      I haven't tried yet this code and set up on a mega2540 but I'm pretty sure that there are no differences in input connections =) I would be happy if you could be the first one trying it out and give us all a feedback .
      For the code part would you be more precise in the description of it please?
      Would you like to use a switch button like this www.aliexpress.com/item/2pcs-Rocker-Switch-Module-2-files-Rocker-Switch-Button-For-Arduino/1832996665.html or something like this www.amazon.it/ILS-Button-interruttore-KCD1-101-Snap/dp/B07912ZCQD/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1534251142&sr=8-8&keywords=push+switch+button+arduino ?
      Or which one would you use?
      Anyway I haven't tried any of these options but I think it could be a great idea Rookie =)
      Have you seen my latest video ua-cam.com/video/WtLXszS7_yY/v-deo.html ?
      You can use a TMC2100 or DRV8825 driver using the same set up and changing two values in code for a smoothless and perfect movement.
      You'll find all the infos in the video description =)
      Have a great day
      Cheers
      Thanks for your comment.

      NProductionHT, thankyou for your response. I got it all working perfectly fine thanks to your video and code, so massive thumbs up to you!!
      I have some switches more like the first ones with a ground, a power and a signal so i think I will definetely give it a go and let you know if it works.
      I have not yet as I've just got back from holidays but I'll go check it out 😁 Thanks again, it's kind of hard finding good solid advice on here 👌 You should pin this comment incase anyone wants to know if it works.

Has anybody experience with that. To change from one code to another one I set some bottons. The other codes are working without problem. Thank you for helping

    • @NProductionHT
      @NProductionHT  6 років тому

      Hi there,
      I haven't tried the code on arduino nano yet but if I were you I would give it a try , I'm pretty sure that it works.
      Just one thing, be careful when adjusting the current limit with the help of a multimeter on the A4988 driver.
      A short circuit between GND and VDD could occur if the current is too high.
      On the tutorial I set the current to 0.6 A and that worked fine.
      If you need more help let me know =)
