Great Video but there's a few things you missed or got wrong: - Lazer uses a 70% acc 30% highest combo based system (it's not all combos like stable, it's JUST highest combo only), while scorev2 in osu!stable is 30% acc 70% (general) combo - You can copy any skin element and paste it into other skins from the skin layout editor with ctrl+c ctrl-v (this also works with ctrl a selections meaning you can copy an entire skins ui how you like it then just paste it into other skins) - The uncapped score will be used for score farming and leaderboards (not an error on your part I just thought it was worth mentioning in case some people didn't know) - Lazer now uses Stables ranks/grades so S ranks have to be no misses now, etc (you wouldn't have had this change yet while you were making this video because it was just reverted) - Sliders have also added increased radius for when you can let go of sliders, so now as long as you hit a slider's end and head you will 300 that slider (basically big sliders easier) - Lazer notelock also doesn't allow more than 2 notes to lock at the same time no matter what which is why chain missing streams is much harder to do - this one's pretty widely known but since it wasn't mentioned, dt rate change is planned to only allow score to be higher per .1 increments so 1.01 won't get you slightly more score than 1.0 Overall nice video, sick to see someone actually willing to sit down and try osu! lazer for real and not just open it for 10 minutes and say it's shit.

Bit unfortunate timing but about 20 hours ago requiring no misses for an S returned back to lazer. The reason the recent database issue delayed lazer is that a few of the replicas (copy of the database to ensure a higher load won't cause osu to shutdown) became corrupted. Getting back to the original state requires rebuilding (aka making a new copy) the entire database which just takes a lot of time due to the size of the database.
I dont understand people calling Stable "simplicity" over Lazer. Lazer is modern, and understandable, while Stable in 2024 looks like a 2007-ahh UI with textboxes, UI elements hovering on everywhere, with lack of basic features like PROPER multiplayer rooms. Stable is definetely NOT new user-friendly, lazer is not "complex", its a new user-friendly imo. Keep in mind that i'm talking about general UI and UI experience here not scoring etc.
I like lazer. Difficulty and rate adjust are godsends and some of the new mods are fun to play with. Also ive only watched your videos occasionally so idk if it's new or something but your editing is so clean
Small correction regarding scoring : the combo/acc split is now (roughly) 50 / 50, with misses being less punishing in the combo part than they were in v1 or v2. The graph of score for FC based on acc should follow the function f(x) = 1000000 * (0.5*x + 0.5*(x^5)). Really cool video nonetheless !
Ive been trying lazer for the past few years, but mostly 2023. But its never been my main client. But ive started enjoying it alot more, its really nice. As soon as they bring pp to lazer im about 100% gonna switch to lazer.

Another slider mechanic is a larger hitwindow on short sliders, which especially makes sliderstreams and buzzsliders easier to combo

In Lazer, you literally get capped 1000 FPS, and such low input delay that it feels "good". I still can't decide whether 2x framerate, or just let my laptop die with Unlimited (700-1000 fps)

So far my biggest complaint is that my keyboard visualizer on the right is messed up and skin, as well as not being able to properly sort my maps by mode and date added. It sorts by date added to lazer.. which is all the same.. also only one sort at a time

i cant move to lazer cus the built in drivers dont let me disable the buttons and tip clicking and any other drivers just dont work if i have the in game drivers disabled. and even if i have mouse buttons disabled my pen dragging doesnt click but it also doesnt let me click normally, at least like 50% of the time cus it seems like it enables and disables on alternating frames cus the normal windows cursor pops up over my in game cursor seemingly every alternate frame whenever im dragging the pen.. possibly an easy fix that im just being dumb about but yeah, still an issue im having
for me the only reason I'm not using lazer is because of the new ranking system, it required experience and "skill" to figure out a score just by watching the accuracy, combo & rank (knowing how he broke combo, the % of 50's, etc), now the only info you get is if he got a specific acc (that shows up anyways without knowing the rank letter, so whats the point?)
I personally think that lazer needs more polishing, it is not ready for ranked play just yet. I documented all of the stuff i liked and hated about lazer and the bad stuff outnumbered the good stuff i had to say about the game. The game needs a bit more time, I do not think releasing ranked play on lazer in its current state is a good idea, because for some modes it might end up creating a split between the client preference and nobody wants that.

Stable feels very homesy and honestly I just like the older look and nothing with it is inherently wrong. Lazer just feels like those hollow minimalistic company logos and website designs Stable feels much more lively and has much more personality to me. Lazer on the other hand looks like any other random generic rhythm game from the last 4 years.
I just dont like lazer because the gameplay feels so off. Idk maybe im too used to how stable feels but lazer gameplay feels like theres something wrong along with the fact that the game stutters every 10 secs for me.

If you want no slider head acc, then turn on classic and get the .96x because it's easier and makes the game much less difficult. His reasoning that I saw was that "Old SS scores would be ruined" which is stupid because the classic mod will be applied to those scores, they will stay SS's but a 98+ with slider head acc on basically all maps is going to be better than most SS'es with Classic. The bad mechanic shouldn't be standardized when we have the better version of it now just because some people feel it's off, you're just ruining improvement to the game for literally no reason
