I like Foos, but I had never listened this song until earlier today, when I decided to start the discography from the beginning. I'm terrified how good this song is, how it seems influenced by Nirvana and mostly how strong the lyrics is, specially knowing that recently Grohl confirmed it is about Courtney Love. It is pure gold produced by Dave playing all the instruments. I cannot stop to listen this song repeatedly and to consume everything related to it on Internet.

I was gonna write a single verse and say 'yup..pretty obvious who the cancer hanging around is' but all the lyrics and cancer make it extremely obvious who this is about. I've heard a shit ton of "anti-Courtney" songs (who most have admitted to the song's meaning) but this is definitely the best
This song will always slap no matter what it's about. I interpret the lyrics against my own monsters and it helps so much. Recently, I learned playing this song on the drums aswell and its sooooo fucking exciting every time I play it and still learn so much from it! Thank you for rocking and keep on going guys, the songs are just getting better and better!
For sure. But that sound didn't come out of the gate, it developed over time. The further away Dave got from his Nirvana days the less the FF's sounded like them. But the FF's 1st album had a lot of Nirvanas sound. I can hear Kurt singing this song in my head.

ya
RIP Taylor, I had the honor to see you perform live twice… you will be missed 😢
i had a dream to see them all live at least once in my life( So lucky you, glad for you, bro.. rip Taylor :'(
He didn’t drum on this song but still rip
Find a video of a song in which he plays in. Isn't that hard considering he was with the foo fighters for over 20 years
I only knew who he was just 2 years ago.
This classic video was directed by the legendary Devo co-founder and music video pioneer: Gerald V. Casale.
Dave Grohl proving to his critics that he is a excellent front man who is not afraid to step out of the shadow of his achievements with Nirvana one of the influential rock bands of the last thirty years
This was most likely him telling courtney that he doesn't owe her anything
I like Foos, but I had never listened this song until earlier today, when I decided to start the discography from the beginning. I'm terrified how good this song is, how it seems influenced by Nirvana and mostly how strong the lyrics is, specially knowing that recently Grohl confirmed it is about Courtney Love. It is pure gold produced by Dave playing all the instruments. I cannot stop to listen this song repeatedly and to consume everything related to it on Internet.
Dave is a legend. Do you agree?
I'll Stick Around by The Foo Fighters is a masterpiece type of 90s alternative rock song with thrilling guitar melodies
My fav Foo Fighters song. Always sounds like the first time!
The most beautiful symbiosis of hard rock, melodic and partly heavy metal elements I've ever heard
This song introduced me to the foos. And it still remains my favorite song from them ever. I love this song. I have this as my ring tone. I love the chorus. It's just perfect
Between this and colour and the shape lives their best work 🤘 or is that just my age 🤣
everyone talking about Corona, then there is me,crying at 3 am because of how handsome Dave looked when he was young :(
-i.. he’s still handsome lol!!
HE ISSSSS
You're not alone in this:')
haha same
Jesus, when "I'll stick around" hits.... Yeah.
Dave Grohl played all the unstruments on this album. Color me impressive
He didn't do the drums on Xstatic. Other than that he did.
Uncorrect, X-static features Greg Dulli on guitar, but the rest of the track (including drums) is played by Dave
Oh, oops. Thanks for correcting my error.
Paul McCartney also did that on Maybe I'm Amazed
svds Incorrect. Uncorrect is not even a word.
The chorus is incredible, that's why Foo Fighters is my favorite band, powerful emotions through the music
Holy duck, It’s so unusually to see young Dave Groghl as a frontman
A fascinating song, right on the cusp of two bands sounds. In fact at 2.58 it morphs from Daves past Nirvana sound to his future Foo Fighters sound.
I love the self titled album by foofighters, Just bought the CD... My favorite story of this album is that dave played all the instruments himself and made it in just 6 days, it's crazy how he can make so many good songs in that amount of time, Dave has to be my favorite artist out there. PS. I love his attitude aswell such an awsome guy!
My favorite song of theirs. Brilliantly written
Food Fighters. Enter a misprint... Kept. Foo(d) Fighters.
Gotta love those '90s snare rolls. Do they still play this live?
Good question
This album shits on the crap they do now.
Douche Bag Thanks for answering my question, Douche Bag! =)
Douche Bag if foo fighter today is complete shit
Yeah.
This is my favorite Foo Fighters song...
OMG LOVED THIS SONG FOR YEARS DIDN"T KNOW IT HAS A VIDEO LOLOL
This is my favorite song that the foos ever made, it’s just so, amazing.
One of my best records ever. Bought it in 1995 and still have it.
This song describes my vibe so well, Love this jam!!! 😀
Greetings from germany. Literally after decades I dug out the "1st Foo Fighters" album again. This song is an absolute blast. A heavy smasher. A total headbanger. A brutal slamdiver. Greater than great. The 1st album is definitely under their Top-5-albums! Sadly i never saw the "Foo Fighters" live on stage although they had come several times to germany over the years. Greetings from autumn 2024.
I love how pissed the band looks at what was supposed to be Courtney Love.
:(
I was gonna write a single verse and say 'yup..pretty obvious who the cancer hanging around is' but all the lyrics and cancer make it extremely obvious who this is about. I've heard a shit ton of "anti-Courtney" songs (who most have admitted to the song's meaning) but this is definitely the best
She DOES seem to inspire those emotions a lot in people!
Now she’s hiv dam
😆
This song will always slap no matter what it's about. I interpret the lyrics against my own monsters and it helps so much. Recently, I learned playing this song on the drums aswell and its sooooo fucking exciting every time I play it and still learn so much from it! Thank you for rocking and keep on going guys, the songs are just getting better and better!
That’s one interesting way to put it.
The best song FF!
Carascoroscovaldo I love this FUCKIN song!
Sapalien Opa. \,,/
som do crl mas não é o melhor n
Pra mim sempre foi
the best song this álbum
Happy early 30th anniversary to the self-titled debut by Foo Fighters!
This might be the most Nirvana sounding song FF's has made.
ikr
It's basically a faster, more angry version of Smells Like Teen Spirit.
With Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge In Seattle in the riff.
+UnderMeister finally someone who notices that
For sure. But that sound didn't come out of the gate, it developed over time. The further away Dave got from his Nirvana days the less the FF's sounded like them. But the FF's 1st album had a lot of Nirvanas sound. I can hear Kurt singing this song in my head.
This song is still heavy as hell almost 30 years later
It's hard to barg nargle zouse. With all these chess pieces in my mouth.
+Shaun Riggle fucking lol
but his teeth are white as piano keys. this is important.
Shaun Riggle 10/10
Spot on! lol
we're a grunge band from Seattle, well that sure beats breading cattle
Pat has got to be the happiest guitarist I’ve ever seen.😂🤘
