the feeling of sitting down to write and lowkey forgetting how drafting works for a second is so real, haha. thank you for sharing your tips for writing faster!!
You went on a journey in this vlog! Congratulations on getting all that motivation! I’m trying to draft. I wish I had more motivation! Also (and you might already know this), I think Mr. Beast was referring to SAVE THE CAT by Blake Snyder (the screenwriting book). It was adapted for novelists by Jessica Brody many years later and I believe SAVE THE CAT WRITES A YA NOVEL will be published next year. SAVE THE CAT as a screenwriting book is largely used in film schools/screenwriting programs, but I know some novelists use it too. I write screenplays (mostly TV pilots now) and novels and went to film school for screenwriting and Blake Snyder’s SAVE THE CAT was brought up frequently. But I can see why Jessica Brody adapted it for novelists.
I also write in comic sans! It's like sketching in the margins of your notebook (which is where i draw my best pieces). It seems to get rid of the serious weight of a project
I’m glad you were able to fight procrastination even when you said your life was busy! It gives me hope that I can keep writing for my content. Good luck on NaNoWriMo!
When writing I also like to use parentheses and highlighting so I have a note to myself on what I want to fix and edit at a later time. I've found this helps so much, I'm doing less editing and more writing.
I hate a blank page. I found a great solution at least for me. I paste the summary of the scene I'm about to write. Sadly, it took me nearly a decade of writing to figure this out. Oh well. You got this.
Haven't written in like almost a month lol I've been so busy with work and attempting to fix my sleep schedule. Not sure what I want to do/what I should do to fix those issues. Any ideas?
Nervous energy? There's a Visine for that. (I hope that joke never gets old.) For me the fuel ... at least lately ... has been orange juice. It heightens my vitamins. It makes me less sad. I don't write to music, but music has been an increasing presence in the projects as a whole. Anna Robbins had a whole stream (either this week or last) devoted to questioning about playlists, and the consensus was somewhere along the lines of: if the project NEEDS a playlist, you'll know that when you start.
Life kinda went splat for me over the last week. I'm going to try to catch up, but.... It's a week worth of words. 😓😭 Also! They have a save the cat for scriptwriting!
Lol I tried a patreon and didn’t work on it for very long so I shut it back down. I might set one up for those that want to support me a little extra :) or a kofi or something
Omg IDR who said it but someone said that there's two types of writers. The one that's scared of a blank page and the one that's scared of a full page. I'm def a scared full page kinda guy...

Totally!! It's so helpful!
I tried that time-lapse trick while writing and it is so helpful for focusing!
Yay!!

Thank you!!

I do that as well, I've found this helps a lot with my writing.
Smart! I might have to try that with an outline!
That's a great idea!
I write in Helvetica font. I like the idea of font colors!
Nice!
Good afternoon, Sara! That was a funny and inspiring video from you to watch. Have a wonderful day, enjoy New York and be safe. ❤

Life kinda went splat for me over the last week. I'm going to try to catch up, but.... It's a week worth of words. 😓😭
Also! They have a save the cat for scriptwriting!
They have a save the cat for almost every kind of written storytelling!
When are you going to publish these novels?
I’ll talk about this more in a future video but hoping to finish prepping a manuscript for submission this spring
@@SaraLubratt I hope you succeed with this fanbase your accumulated here.

You can absolutely say the word.
Set up a patreon, we’ll make up for whatever you lose from UA-cam for saying a naughty word

Oh interesting!!
@@SaraLubratt well, imo, editing is one of the 7 circles of hell and that's what the full page signifies to me lol
@@alexandersims1613 That totally makes sense! I guess I'm am more scared of the blank page
…and you still did better than me lol
It's not a competition with anyone other than yourself!
@@SaraLubratt True true 😊
