Shervage Wood has always given off a depressing feeling each time I've walked down there! There is definitely an atmosphere to the area...in fact, anywhere downhill from the hill fort towards Shervage is a bit gloomy and unsettling at times! Glad I normally have a dog to look after me these days! 😃

Definitely Michael. The coach road can be a bit eerie as well. Especially early on a foggy morning before sunrise

Some nice images there Ian. I find woodland photography a difficult subject and seem to struggle to find compositions that I am happy with. Looking forward to your future videos.

Welcome back Ian. It looks like an interesting wood and great it’s nearby.
I could image the mist in some of your compositions so definitely worth a few more visit. I have a great looking woodland only 15 minutes drive with that waterfall but it never seems to get mist. I always end up driving passed the turning and heading for Dartmoor. 👍🏼🍁🍂

Thanks Chris. Yes I am lucky enough to have a few nice woodland areas but the same as you foggy conditions are few and far between, especially when you need them to coincide with my days off. But when all things come together it is worth it.

I also keep seeing the false alarms for mist and fog, and putting my gear ready for the next morning, only to find that the mist or fog doesn't materialise. Also, the early morning light is abysmal at present. Who'd be a photographer? 🤥

Yes Nick, frustrating at times. Especially when conditions are perfect and I have to work 👎

@@IanBarrowPhotography Just think of all those lovely retirement years that are coming your way. When you are not baby-sitting the grandchildren you will be able to pop out and take pictures.😏
