Great video I just swapped mains to my holy priest because my team needed heals and your guides are extremely helpful for me! Please keep it up as changes happen so I dont look bad :P
Awesome guide Jak. Quick Question, when you're pushing into the high M+ levels, (12+) do you normally go Disc or Holy? I feel like there's so much damage going out on the tank that you're almost permanently locked into spamming Shadow Mend with only brief moments where you're able to do damage and I feel like Holy would fit that role better.
I'm always streaming when I'm in game really so I just let chat decide actually. Tonight on stream I did Disc and Holy for +12s and we completed them in time for 2 chests in each of them. All up to you!
Hey Jack, currently at 871 ilvl with m+10 as highest done. In the higher level mythics, I find myself unable to heal dps members efficiently (e.g. NL, scorpions at the end 4 shotting dps). I was thinking about speccing into clarity of will for these mythics. What is your opinion on that talent? Btw, this week we got necrotic+raging, which reaaly sux :(
Janci Pittner hey there! For high m+ I probably still wouldn't use CoW, it's just too slow and clunky. What I would suggest is using Rapture first, then into a Barrier and having players stacked, then using a Lights Wrath where needed. Those adds are awful at the end, so even waiting for CDs can only help since the punishment for wiping at the end is severe. Raging/Necro really sucks, shining force may help push adds off the tank to give him time to drop off his debuff or kite raging adds. Very aggressive use of Barrier/Pain Sup should also help as well.
Hmm, so CoW actually gives like 700k shield on attoned target, right? . Isn't it something we want really tight situations(higher levels - single-target Hyrja, pre-cast for multitarget pelters in NL)? I mean I really like divine start, but it just seems to fall off later on. But I do realize, not having good ilvl, nor organized group is probably what is causing me the problems, not the talents :) I'm using what you described, but still keeping promises/seventh spine. Thanks for you reply, appreciate it :)
Really good video Jak. The problem is you need a really good group to play disc in mythic + it doesnt work out well in pug world. Very informative video thanks
Hey Jak, at one point you show off your gear and I see as disc you're using the legendary neck. Can I ask how come? Aren't the stats horrible compared to an 860 or so neck with haste mastery on it? Thanks in advance.
gochacovered it probably would be but I used the legendary for two reasons, the extra shielding in M+ can be very powerful, and I didn't have a neck that was suitable to replace my 910 legendary, everything I have in neck slot doesn't have haste or is very low haste so is not worth.
benjamin feenstra my raid frames are Vuhdo and you can select specific buffs to show underneath player's frames. I have links to my profile in my UI video on this channel
Its a plugin for my damage meters. So in the Details addon, by default you have the meters available to use, but there is also a plugin that you can enable called "Streamer" that lets you setup your recently casted spells.
1) Hello, im Discipline priest myself 880IL. I wonder, if Discipline priests are sentenced to be last in Raid healing? Or do only I feel like we are useless? My guild is forcing me to respec Holy, which i really do not like. Im 10 years discipline priest, i got the knowledge of the mechanics and i play my priest proper way, but still can not overrun any other healers, even when im several IL better geared... 2) Please, if any1 has some ideas, why to take Discipline priest to Raid instead of any other healer, let me know, so I can argue with my guild 3) The game mechanics of discipline priest are actualy hardest in the game in my opinion. And for the effort we do we get as reward last position in healing and last position in DPS. Its annoying... Do you feel the same?
I'd suggest checking out my Disc Adv Guide. It should hopefully answer many of your questions. ua-cam.com/video/L46ju6PNCmI/v-deo.html&lc=z13yzx05ckfaylzhk04cg14jmz2qefeh5eo
I have seen your guide (perfect job, I know the machanics), but stills: why to take discipline priest to raid instead of any other healer? All healers are able to burst heal the raid group. its true, Disc burst raid heal is the hugest but very situational, and its not necesarry at all to have that much of burst situational raid heal when all other healers can react immediatelly and burst raid heal too. Furthermore there is not boss fight which requires that much raid burst healing and if there is the boss its doable with all other healers. And In addition all other healers are able to burst heal more comfortable and with less effort than Discipline priest and they are able to make more HPS or total healing done during the whole fight and are more usefull due to their insane abilities of huge single target heals to keep tank alive or protect the tank from death. Paladins on IL 875 usually make 330k+ HPS while in raid. I have seen Druids or Holypriests to do 330k+, but I have never seen Discipline priest to do it. in addition, several healers can heal whole raid when discipline priest is limited with attonements (which can not be applied to 20 targets at the same time. i would like to argue to my guild why is Discipline priest better in Raid content then other healers. But all my arguments crashes. the only advantage my guild is able to lightly accept is 100k dps... but whats 100k dps? -> nothing which could worth compared with 300k+ dps of a DPS class. They are forcing me to respec Holy, because it has more potential in their opinion. i would really appreciate, if I could have a strong argument. Could you see an advantage of Discipline priest in raid please?
René Reger Discipline is able to pull significant HPS, especially with innervates and often can beat/match other healers if played appropriately. Disc beings great damage reduction for the raid in barrier, has one of the best tank cooldowns in the game, and is the only healer left with absorbs. The burst from disc can completely negate some mechanics as you has a revival of your own with Light's Wrath on a 1.5min cd. If you haven't seen any logs of discs performing well then I'd suggest you look at WCL rankings to see evidence of Disc's power. It can be brought to raids and many top guilds did bring them to raids.
still have no idea why people don't want mastery? crit inflates the baseline heals but the majority of your healing should be done through atonement, with spot heals when absolutely needed. having a near 100% to your atonement would mean nearly 100% of your damage is pure healing. mastery always stacks higher them any other stat. crit is nice, but your not a dps. I feel people struggle because they are stacking the wrong things due to how they expect a healer to work. disc is a hybrid...
Mythic+ isn't just about healing the way that raiding is. Crit favoring both healing and dps is more favorable than using Mastery. Sure you don't want to be using SMend and things like that when you can, but all too often you are forced into that position where you must use it especially in 10+. If you';re in super geared guild groups then its easy to say you should never have to use SMend, but for most people they don't have that luxury, hence this guide.
Man you should switch up your DHT strat, death run the last tunnel to the last boss it is by far the gayest trash in the entire dungeon, but very easy to death run with a good tank and a safety bres or a Smeld for allys. Way to easy to get 100% before the 3rd boss so don't waste your time it's harder than any other trash.
As a holy pally I just skip weeks where we have overflow. Accidentally critting a tank with holy shock and giving them a 3 mil overheal shield makes me want to quit the game
such high quality content, so underrated, 10/10

Hey Jack,Awesome video!
I was curious what your opinion was on purge the wicked instead of grace for raid healing?
Natasha Rose Widmer Purge is exceptional for raid healing, I always use it in raids!

i used to absolutely love disc but i'm really dreading leveling my priest since the changes. Do you really think it'll be worth it?

Question, what addon is that under grid that shows attonement on your party members, im looking for something like that for a long time now.
benjamin feenstra my raid frames are Vuhdo and you can select specific buffs to show underneath player's frames. I have links to my profile in my UI video on this channel
What is that addon in the top left that shows recently casts spells?

What amount of haste do you feel is comfortable for mythic+?
lolloda it's your best stat, so get as much as possible
Why is that spriest named drye in the game but daddy on your damage meter?
My damage meter Details lets you make nicknames for yourself that others with the same addon can see.
ugh have fun staring at the right side of your screen lol

We do that on harder affixes like raging/necro or something. This one was easy so we opted not to.
Fair enough :)
