How does a drone perform in cold weather?

- On the eve of my 53rd birthday I decided to head down the gorge into a frozen riverbed armed with a stove, some tea and my drone. I was interested to see how it would perform in cold weather. The temperature was minus ten and dropping with zero wind but there would also be an expected further loss of temperature as the drone gained height. My conclusion was that the conditions did not effect the machine other than the batteries draining quicker and managed a 10 minute flight per battery. The light and snow was perfect for the camera so hope you enjoy my video
Nice and interesting!
thankyou for the feed back
Enjoyed your video. I'm 63 and don't think of myself as such (a mirror seems to be quick reminder...lol), however, I've noticed the older I get , the younger the older people seem to be. lol
Thanks for the reply Steve ...Yep its funny the older we get the quicker the world seems to turn
Quite the change of terrain from Lincolnshire... I was worried you were going to lose your drone on the frozen river bed and that you would have to walk out to get it - and scoop a pot of water at the same time. Fun to watch. Thanks!
no worries and thanks for the feedback ....Have not lost it yet but have come pretty close a few times
Beautiful scenery. Flying a drone is therapy. Did you ever get any temp warnings while you were flying?
Hi Ron thanks for the reply ...No I didn't get any temp warnings equally it was a super calm day with no wind or wind chill and a very dry cold so little to no moisture ...I think that allowed me the flight, My only real concern was getting a gps fix as there was a lot of iron ore content in the rock which the compass did not like and variation was quite the thing but managed to get it home
