I invested £3600 in the Lenire treatment and I have to say it had absolutely ZERO affect on my tinnitus. It's a lot of money to shell out but if you're suffering from this awful awful complaint you'll try anything to try and bring relief to it. I'm not asserting the claims by the manufacturers are false but for me it was a real waste of money.

Appreciate this honest insight. My has been a constant that, when I don’t experience it on extreme rare occassions, I sort of panic a little and ask to myself “what just happened” and I cry when it immediately comes back.

Tinnitus is beyond a nightmare when it’s too loud. Knowing that it’s really evil to charge a price of a car for this device.

I grew up on an Arabian Horse farm with critters of many sizes. With that comes guns, it's a common thing protecting the farm and as a farm girl - it was fun to learn about guns and shoot them! :) Sadly when firing off a hand gun my right ear went into silence mode for about two days. After that it was fine and back to normal. Sadly I'm a little older now and I hear a rustling sound in the right ear. It's like a snare drum with light sand being lightly poured onto the surface of the drum skin. This comes and goes and sometimes I found certain sounds can calm it down. I have found what helps calm this down is to insert an ear plug into my right ear for a couple days, sleeping with it as well. And after that it's fine. I've learned to keep volumes down as well, due to my LOVING to listen to music with earbuds and headphones. I'm scared I have damage to my ear as my hearing is good. I hear from both ears fine - but the right ear does worry me after that loud pop sound from the gun. I don't want to lose my hearing, but fear it's too late and as I get older I'll simply lose it all in the right ear :( /sadPanda

My tinnitus is hereditary my mother had it she described it as a noise. Had a hearing test found the tinnitus masked higher frequencies the solution is a expensive hearing that boosts the upper frequencies. Basically did my own tests against different noise sources and found that Brown noise was a close match. So decided to listen to it for an Hour or so. This gave me an awful Migraine. For years the sound in both ears were about the same level. Whilst cleaning my right of wax ran the tool light pressure along the bottom ear canal and miraculously the tinnitus dropped in intensity and has been like this for over a year So the noise in my left ear sounds about 4 times of the right....very strange. Tried the same massage on the left canal.......no change.

I can and am living with tinnitus for over twenty years after exposure to a loud noise. However, I am annoyed by the severe hearing loss at its frequency in the ear that has it the worst. Will the treatment recover the lost frequency?

Thank you for sharing this information. I ask my hearing aid specialist every time I see them if this is ever going to be available at their office, but they never have a positive response. There are other doctors near me that offer it, perhaps it's time to give them a call!

Does this treatment reduce the volume of the tinnitus or just alter your perception of it and help you ignore it?

Habituation device according to the makers of Lenire. On their website it’s actually stated as such (in smaller print). Only device shown to lower volume is Susan shores device….but still waiting fda approval.

tinnitus.. mine came after my second bout with covid. however luckily I have managed to get along with it fine for 3 years now and the ENTs that I visited in the first months that I had it all said that tinnitus main cause is damage to the inner ear follicle or receptors of sounds which transmit these sounds to our brains.

You might want to try sound therapy. Try to get a tinnitus masking device. They make hearing aids with tinnitus masking or you can get a stand alone tinnitus masker. A friend of mine got the Widex Moment for tinnitus masking. There is also Widex SmartRic if you have hearing loss and tinnitus. I have minimal hearing loss and got the Oticon More 2 Miniright. My hearing aid plays constant pink noise for my tinnitus. At the very least try to play sound. You could listen to tunes on headphones. Masking is a misnomer in my opinion. You aren't trying to mask or cover up the tinnitus sound but rather the goal is to have a rich sound environment to give your brain something else to pay attention to and take the focus off the tinnitus. My tinnitus is awful but my brain has been retrained to ignore it because I make sure to supply other sounds to my brain for it to pay attention to. I hope you get some relief. It took me 3 months to learn to live with tinnitus once I got my hearing aids with tinnitus pink noise masking.

This treatment needs validation through a clinical trial in a major University Program treating tinnitus before investing time and money. Statements regarding the success rate of current treatment protocol is simply inaccurate. Behavioral therapy with a qualified counselor has proven to be the best way of reducing tinnitus symptoms.

Since you are a doctor of audiology, could you explain to me (sorry if it’s off topic) why so many young females use vocal fry in their speech? From my understanding , it is based on copying what a few female singers started using a few years back. Women never used that before, only recently. I, and many others, find it most annoying. Thank you.

It results in significanly more thumbs up for each video which significanlty increases how much it is recommended by UA-cam whic significanlty increases the amount of times that the video is viewed. We have thought it through, and its a no brainer.
