Based on the specific wording of the change, you're right, but the fact that this is a functionality for COOP means it can be reused by the devs for invasions... whenever they decide that PVP matters :D
Yeah, for "veteran sunbros", they had to avoid activating certain totems so they don't get summoned at unwanted places or outright bugged spots like where you find sellen in the weeping peninsula. For invasions, the requirements are just being in level range and wandering in the specific dungeon/open world before so nothing changes.
You literally just described what I’d o when I start a new game plus run on my main, because I hated getting summoned for fire giant, rykard, and the final boss because I know their move sets by heart and are pretty easy, and people summoned me way too often for those bosses because they suck at the game. The struggles of being a pver that gets summoned.
Invasions areas for "wex dust" invasions aren't dictated from summoning pools. It would need to be a proactive choice from the devs to include invasions on it. There is minimum to no effort in including it but invader player base is minimum to non existent in the grand scheme of from software games.
Okay, summoning pools carrying over to NG+ is amazing. I play almost exclusively co-op. So losing all my effigies put me off from doing NG+. Now, I don't have to worry about that. (Why do I keep catching typos a day after I make a comment...?)

so couldn't this basically allow people to send their duelist sign to multiple specific duelling spots? So the duelling sign wouldn't have a large chance of getting you summoned by a clueless host looking for help with a boss?
I'm the one who made the report asking for the summoning pool changes and I'm amazed the added the menu I requested. I also asked for them to become enabled automatically when you get near but it seems they decided against that. I should've asked them to provide a similar system to decide where you invade to. One thing I really like about the menu is that it'll be very easy to compare with map genie to see which pools you didn't activate, that was one of the things I specifically mentioned was hard to do in my report.

Also once you're at the stage where you can write a report, you have to mess with the dropdowns a bit for it to show the one that lets you specify "Elden Ring" as the game.

I hope we get some buffs to flails. One handed super armor or some frame data buffs would be nice. That heavy attack is just awful because of how slow it is.
Flails should of had shield piercing and been marginally faster than hammers and axes. They also should of made it have a weird combination of hammer and axe moveset.
Greataxes/Hammers still gonna suck and no String or boluses seller so idc. Hopefully when the DLC drops we actually get some major quality of life improvements.

@@jasonheath7045if you're on PC they have boss randomizer mods and I think they have a tournament style mod where you try to see if you can beat every boss in the game. Also I believe you can spawn them in with cheat engine. But I'm going to assume you also want to fight them in their specific arena and sorry I have no clue about that. I'd peruse nexus mods if I were you or just speed run to them.

I will probably do a ton of random summoning to help people kill bosses after I go through the dlc, so being able to select the ones I want will be incredibly useful. It’ll allow me to still have an assortment of multiple bosses to get summoned to at once, but still eliminate whatever ones I think are super shitty to fight.
Literally last night I fighting the regal ancestor spirit and when it teleported it just died instantly even though I only hit it 4 times. It still had alot of health left before it went to the shadow realm.
You can invade radahn's beach even if you didn't activate the totem, and there is no grace, which shows that that is not necessary for a place to be invadable. Therefore i doubt the new totem feature will affect invasions
Yes this was updated a while ago in an older patch altho I don,t think that applies for all Bell bearings, for NPC bell bearings I think you have to reaquire them
I doubt this will affect invasions, as invasion regions are completely linked to where you've been before and you are never given the choice whether to activate it or not, but I think most summons only activate the summon pools they want already anyway, so summons who activate open world/dungeon summon pools will continue to do so. I think a lot of summons enjoy pvp and I bet few summons will want endless 3v1 bossing.

The summoning pool changes are welcome, but i dont think that will translate to invasions, i think they are different systems due to the "random" spawn locations in invasions versus the fixed summoning pools. Like, this will only affect near/far when using the effigies, not the fingers that place your sign down.
@minerman60101 yea, I'm picturing a menu that has a map of each region (limgrave, caelid, etc...) and you can select zones from each map that you want to invade or not, kinda how you put it. Select farum azula and you choose the zone before godskin, after, or both.

I’m sure this is a hot take but I’m very against certain QoL changes like not being able to attack NPCs, not being able to softlock yourself, being told when you can upgrade your flask/ now what item is new, etc. It kind of makes the game more braindead to play instead of requiring a player to be more engaged and actually focus, as well as make important consequential decisions in regards to the NPCs.

You would have to just remove the albinaurics or make them give no runes, but that would be really strange. Even if you reduced the damage of wave of gold, people would just use it twice or do sacred scorpion charm+ holy damage physick. There's not really anything you can do to stop that

that doesnt really happen as much the lower levels tbh. on my lvl 20-50s its more like 1/10 is a fog wall. just another reason i stick to low lvl pvp

I'd imagine that were an analogous system to be made for invaders, it would be for entire zones, e.g. "the half of Farum Azula after the Godskin Duo"

Imo poise overhaul was a terrible move for PvP, could’ve been implemented way way way better
now it’s just ds3 with the added bonus of no co-invaders and l2 spam

@@Smaxy_ hyper armor is fine with sensible selection of weapons and attacks it applies to. General poise is awful and creates an awful power dynamic that negates skill based play.

Pretty sure they fixed the bird so it didn't run off but then reverted that, since it still always runs off for me
As for the albinauric one, I literally don't see how you would fix that. You would have to just remove the albinaurics or make them give no runes, but that would be really strange. Even if you reduced the damage of wave of gold, people would just use it twice or do sacred scorpion charm+ holy damage physick. There's not really anything you can do to stop that
