When my son completed high school, i wanted him to study medicine… he went for one semester then he told me that he cant do it, he told me mom am doing this for you not for me……. I asked him ok what would you like to do?, he said mom am good with numbers, i want to do Finance. As a parent i had to honor that, i did not want him to study then go into a career that he did not even like.. He is now studying for his masters having graduated with his bachelors in May… so yes parents do not pick what your kids should study…

Growing up is not easy for anyone icluding the parents themselves. I agree that there are cases of projection. Mental health is real degreewise. Some parents go through a lot and due to lack of knowledge they project on innocent children. Some women unhappy with their husbands can take it on the children. This is bad.

    Wow! She nailed it..well said!!
These are the kind of leaders that we need who understand our rights and that we in a different era and things need to be done different. And also our elders to understand we don't do things to disrespect them but it's different times. She needs to have a "chair" in the government and can be a good genz rep!

Even if there are some toxic parents, 80% of children are toxic and very wicked
And I'm very un apologetic about this
Watoto wa siku izi wengi sana ni very wrong
Another thing you should know, God expects children to take care of their old parents, the same way the parents took care of the children when they were weak n young
But the children of these days are wicked. Even most of them hav alot of money but they have abandoned their parents
They prefer doing other things with their monies and that's why most of them are very miserable in life and are even dying young
The word of God never changes. Na haitambui Gen Z or which gen
If children wants a long life with blessings, they must honour n take care of their parents
His comes ,one parent can raise ten children, yet ten children cannot care for one parent ?
Stop blaming parents. Even parents have their own battles n also their own children trauma
If any child thinks his/her parent is toxic, let him/ her be a parent n show us by example how a good parent should be
    Tupeni mawe nijenge fence!!!!!

The Bible tells children to honor their parents not take care of them. Every parent before having children needs to plan and make sure they are financially able to take care of them and also have enough for their old age. If anything the Bible tells parents to leave an inheritance for their children’s children. Don’t have children as a retirement plan. Plan for your retirement. After all children did not ask to be born!!!! Please make sure you plan well for your retirement depend on God not children!! Cursed is the man/woman who depends on the arm of flleash. I am a single parent in my 50’s I have educated my daughter up to a masters level I do not expect her to help me. I am making sure I leave an inheritance for her children’s children.

This topic will always be here to stay for all generations
Our parents say 'during our time ' this was like this and truth of the matter is that was then this is now, times are different and I believe their parents told them the same and the chain continues but I'm glad about the genz they're able to speak up and address something when it goes wrong
We still have our traumas from childhood because of being raised by broken parents they passed on the traumas and psychological issues to the kids and now these kids wants to do it different

Let's be careful with 'parents are toxic ' though some cases are truly extreme. From my observation the older generation is 90 percent true .
But the children of nowadays are also misusing exposure and wants to translate it to 'I should be allowed to express myself 'mmmmmh this topic is abit tricky
