my favorite movie, "Elvira Madigan" I saw it in a theater when it first came out in 1967. This song, is not from the movie, but a beautiful song. Both make my heart weep.

I wish that I could have seen this film in the theater, thank you for sharing your lovely memory. Yes, the song featured here was not in the movie, but I thought that it would accompany it well for a tribute video. Thank you for watching and I am happy that this was enjoyed.

I apologize- the video was not designed to show the entire end sequence of the film, it was meant as a "tribute" to the end of the film, as I thought that this song was fitting for that purpose. However I do realize that my title may very well be deceptive- viewers may be expecting to see the final clip from the film, so I am going to add the artists name. I agree fully with you that Widerberg utilized incredible metaphors for the end of this brilliant film. Thank you for watching.

You left off the last 15 seconds of the video that make it so impacting. Don't let this clip fool you for the end it fails to catch the beautiful metaphorical devices used by Widerberg.

The film was released to coincide with what would have been Hedwig Jansen's 100th birthday. The real Hedwig was a strikingly attractive and statuesque blonde with the fashionable hourglass figure of her times. Widerberg's film is still one of the most beautiful ever made, but what are the metaphors you mention?
