I have always wondered why there are no people of Circassian origin in Lebanon, yet they are in surrounding countries like Syria, Jordan, Egypt, and Palestine. Though in Lebanon there are Kurds, Turks, Turkmen, and Armenians, just no Circassians.
In 15th century Egypt and Syria, Circassians lived not as refugees, but Sultans and soldiers.
Soldiers yes but how did they live as sultans?
Yes, the Burji dynasty. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barquq
