Awesome to hear that Canada is the GP you’d recommend the most for live attendance. I’ve gone three times… 2002, 2018, and 2022. Hearing those v10s live and in person- watching Schumacher and Montoya battle it out- is still a core memory
uninspiring is the word I’d use about the checo news, same as the rumour that Daniel is resigning with V Carb, literally what’s the point in the red bull driver academy anymore
If yuki would act like a albon did back in his day he would easily be a Redbull driver but all those rage moments and anger
@@ehrlichgesagt863Yuki is in the red bull team only due to red bull having to satisfy Honda and Japan. He has a place in F1, but not a red bull owned team.
The Canadian race is pure F1-no Las Vegas BS. No hype. Better track than Monaco. Great fans.
Should be a fun weekend with a few areas of track being resurfaced just before the winter, and a major storm tonight as well as rain forecast during the entire weekend... it may lead to some race carnage with some of the usual suspects sending it, or spinning!
2:25 I am Dutch, Have been to few races. I Want to go so badly to Canada. It feels like a great track and vibe. Only problem its expensive. and No way I am going for a weekend. I want to stay longer like at least 2 weeks and explore a bit. Maybe in a few years I can finally save up enough money to have a nice trip outside europe :)
But this track and interlagos is on my list of places I want to go
Veel succes bro
It’s just so early to have signed Perez when they know that this is when he hits a slump in the year, it’s a safe move that risky
Maybe this might even work out for the better. Now that Checo knows his contract is secure, he doesn't have to drive with fear for the rest of the season with uncertainty. Hope that works out for him.
Yeah especially when i think they have better options currently affiliated with RB. Yuki is doing wonders with that car AND his contract is almost up. They may end up losing him if being the kead driver of a development team doesnt hold his attention
Fully agree... I thought at the current form Yuki would be in pole for the seat and Perez would have to regain his form to keep it
They really needed that Checo sponsors money so they went for it
@@arjunnair8037that’s the argument made for him every year and every year he disappoints
If Perez goes to VCARB with Ricciardo then it changes from Junior Team to a Retirement Home Team
It is always great to be live :)
And thanks for putting the polls out early, so I managed to vote as well this time :D
A point that wasnt mentioned about Checo (but I am just guessing)
Maybe he will like the 26 cars because of all the energy management (he was so good with tire management in the previous generation of cars)
And all the complaints about the new engines was from Max, so maybe Checo likes that style of driving a bit more.
Could be another reason, why they kept him.
2:48 FYI It's the St. Lawrence River and Seaway leading to Atlantic Ocean. Not a lake, although The Great Lakes are a little further west.
There is a lake on Ile Notre Dame. Even has a beach. 9f course the whole island is artificial, so fake lake, but it is therel
@@slopat2503 Do you really think that tiny little pond is what he was referring to? Or was he perhaps thinking Ile Notre Dame was in a lake?
"Beach" lol you must be an inlander ;)
@@tbz1551 Idk, but the lake is right in the middle of the track, right across from the pit lane stands, so yeah I assumed he was. Does not really matter, Montreal is awesome either way.
@@slopat2503 Yes, have been to the GP and Osheaga there. Just figured not that lake given it isn't featured that prominently on race weekend when there.. just leads to longer walks lol. Still best city to see a race imo. 👍
If they keep Perez and Ricciardo but bin Yuki that organization is cooked
You are forgetting that when Albon and Gasly went to RB they had 1 season and half a season of experience. They weren't half the drivers they are now.
I hope that Jack Doohan gets the 2nd seat at Alpine.
Yes! Been following him through the junior ranks and he really deserves a shot
Or Theo! After winning F2 at such a young age everybody around him gets a seat besides him.
@@ehrlichgesagt863 Pourchaire had probably the most underwhelming win of F2's history. He almost bottled it, it was his third year, and he still won more because of Vesti's bad luck and Doohan's car problems than his own skill.
Apperently Croatia is in process of building an f1 track. And builder is TILKE

2 years is wild. Checo should be a hostage negotiator post-F1 with those negotiation skills
He's got money and is the best #2 in the current field. It's a no brainer it's just the English speaking media don't value him
@@74_pelicanshe is clearly underperforming compared to Max. Red Bull will lose the constructors, maybe not this year but next year is definetely settled already.
The media knows that Checo is good, but not the caliber the front runners are at right now.
The problem for us Aussies is that the American races are Monday morning our time, so we need to to work
King’s birthday this Monday!
@@anthonybevinetto7717not in qld and WA
Only reason I can see for RB renewing with Perez is to lose the constructors on purpose so they have more aero testing time.
Oh and the money Checo brings.
Horner's got his number one supporter, and he's keeping Max happy with a non-challenger!
It also gives the impression of stability to sponsers, and consistancey may encourage team morale!
Sad if the beef between the two dad's was a factor in Carlos not getting this seat.
I think RedBull is wary the Max might leave. Checo is the only other driver who has ever driven the RB Ground effect cars and mastered it at least decently. And in the event Max leaves, they can't be left with no drivers who are familiar with the RB car and the working of the RB team. Checo is someone who is decent enough to hold station until a new star comes upto speed.
If it rains im not counting out a lewis podium, he already did that in china
Where is Minton?.
Jos and Carlos Snr hate each other with a passion. There is a long history between those two.
According to Watson, he didn't see any rivalry aith both of their fathers's drivers
Jos seems to have issues with most people.
i dont think the problem is the 2 individuals perse, is the Verstappen camp, they would Game of Thrones the Sainz the moment they step in, and the Sainz would definitely fight back. Checo and his sponsors are ok with being number 2.
Given that their sons are adults, the sons should silence their dads for the sake of their careers. When they were in juniors, sure, but you're big boys now so it's time to take control of your own lives and careers
Haas gonna look really good here, straight line speed is king here
To be honest the only riders that can be count as Ducati's world champion are the ones who actually became a champion on a Ducati, because everybody else just seemed to fail in the past. Rossi didn't even win a race on a Ducati yet he gets named in this list...
Newey being on the podium last year 💀
Pérez is the right choice. Reason, not a better driver (from a driving standpoint) that brings the amount of sponsorship dollars that Checo brings. Horner is smart and knows that he needs those sponsor dollars to pay Max’s salary!
Not winning the constructors because of perez means losing more money then he brings with sponsers
@@francoisgagnon1278 the estimated earnings for 1st in the constructors last year was !41m, second was 131m and third was 122m. Perez has sponsorship deals with Claro, Telcel (largest phone network in Mexico, controlled by Carlos Slim if you don't know who this guy is look him up), Mobil, KitKat and not to mention slapping his face on a red bull can for the north and south american population is worth millions. What red bull gets in sponsorship money is more than enough to cover the gap plus some between third and first or even further down the rankings. Who else could do a better job in that seat than Checo? I am not seeing anyone. He's a team player and can take orders really well and that is worth 7 figurers or more to an organization.
@@francoisgagnon1278 The difference between 1st and 2nd is not that big... Checo easily brings in more money than the difference with merch sales only I'd assume... And the extra ATR never hurt anyone... RB is not a Haas or a Sauber they are multinational conglomerate... They definitely know better then you or me in how to extract most money... Its money at the end of day for RB, they are not a car company they are a marketing company with a beverage side hobby...
@@flaminG-Ghost it's not first and second. It's first and third. McLaren is very fast now and both drivers are in form.
@@walover165 Do you really believe Checo is that bad that he would slip so much that RB will be third? Have some faith in a proven entity, he is not a Stroll or Sargeant... He slips sometimes but he would pick himself up eventually. But let's see what happens by end of 2024, either I look like an idiot or RB were onto something
My only thought for the rain and max being dominant is the china sprint quali earlier this year, he did not dominate that, cant remember why but is this redbull not set up well for wet weather or was china just a 1 off?
I've yet to attend a race, but Canada is really my only option since it's relatively affordable and the closest, being /only/ a 10hr drive from Pittsburgh LOL.
46:00 isn't alonso in his mid 50's?
Checo has to improve his qualifying. He can hold onto a position, if he get a good start. He has done so many times before why not now.
Do you honestly think that when Audi takes over fully in 2026 that they are not going to shake things up at Hinwil? They most certainly will be investing in upgrading the facilities and bring in top quality designers etc.
Instead of Red Bull I would have tried to get Sainz, but I think Pérez is ok.
Sainz at REDBULL!!! ARE YOU OK? plus sainz wouldn't leave to be a #2 again
Typically Max is very strong through the middle of the season, the traditional European stretch. It will be interesting to see if Max dominates through the summer.
10:48 idk Lando qualified P3 in Spain last year and Oscar wasn't far behind in that dog of a car, I think they'll be good there too
According to some data analysts last year, the mclaren car version of Silverstone would have given redbull some trouble in spain
canada gp is also amongst the least expensive to attend, even with tickets prices nearly doubling over the past 3 years.
Sadly, once again, I miss a stream because of school. 1# reason why I like holidays lmao
You summarised it best Tommo, WE DON’T RUN AN F1 TEAM. We don’t know jack about how contracts are extended. Being armchair experts and trying to decide Checo’s future is juvenile. The team knows better.
Calling it now, alpine points on the way
Perez has nearly 40% podium rate, and if you ignore 2021 when the car was much less dominate it's 47%. So 1/3 is a bit of a disservice to him.
Sainz is mature, but business wise, he's handled by his family. His manager is his cousin and his dad is basically his idol who tells him how to deal as a professional. Lando and Russell are from hedge fund owner fathers and most of their education is how to be perfect PR guys, Stroll... I mean you all know. They're just handled by big money firms to make contracts/deals these days. But almost none of these guys are really business savvy or wary of the macro picture. Webber married his older manager because he never left the track... like it's really not a stretch to have a parent/guardian make the decisions for most. They're just not really educated beyond the track, and given how much money it took to get them there, parents feels a bit more entitled than most others.
@24:46 WHEN ARE WE GONNA STOP BLAMING LOGAN!! He is driving a car held together by duct tape with near zero updates and has not been shunting or being carelass with his drives this year. He his performing exactly how a sophmore should; but of course he isnt gonna do better then P15 when the likes of Alpine, VCARB, Hass, and ALex are getting all the upgrades
It’s both him, and the car. He still hasn’t beat Albon on merit in virtually any instance. Williams should’ve left him in F2 another year, he probably could’ve won.
Albon is crushing him
@@jamesvoneschen6603Miami Sprint was on merit. He was faster on the first runs.
@@ChristianRunsNY What do you expect when Albon gets 1. his car 2. he gets the duct taped car that albon shunted 3. Alex gets every weight saving upgrade??? Logan s getting a rock to drive and told to beat alex?? come on be serious
@@jamesvoneschen6603 Cant fully disagree with the F2 bit, but you gotta admit Logan is driving a rock compared to alxes feather. I track their race lap times and logan is lapping the same times roughly as alex, hes just stuck in the churn/train.
As a Merc fan
I'm still upset at George for throwing away p4 coz he couldn't catch Fernando
Sorry but Kimi at 17, without having gone through F3 is doing well. Not mid, not bad, WELL.
46:30 I think Red Bull will drop Ricciardo soon.
I hope the rain doesn't make it like 2011 😂
Lance Stroll
He is home
I hope he has a good race
James Vowles obviously doesn't think 2024 is important as Williams only have one driver who is capable of scoring points.
Cant take this talk of a title fight seriously until Verstappen has been beaten on merit on a more "normal" track.
Miami/Monaco were some of the most unrepresentative tracks on the calendar
Podcast ads were not the move 😪
So let me get this straight, rain + Canada yet Lewis isn’t even getting a proper mention in this video? He’s dragged that Mercedes to 3rd in the last 2 races at Canada (IN THE DRY) so he’s definitely in for a shout to even win if it rains.
You can overtake in Canada. So considering the best 3 teams have drivers that are also good on wet. Hard for Lewis to be on the podium without chaos.
He’s a shout to win? Where have you been the past 3 years 😂
Winner: Verstappen
BD: Sainz
CD: Zhou
BT: McLaren
CT: Stake lol!
But idk really
Race winner: Max
Banger Driver: Kmag
Clanger Drive: Riccardo
Banger Team: Sauber
Clanger Team: Williams
Red Bull has seemed to struggle in the wet, hoping for a not Max win
Banger Team Sauber is gonna age well 🤣
I think Max is just. That. Good. Will be remembered for a long time
Ahahaha got lucky being in the best car.
Ocon may go to le mans according tos sime rumors.
F1 is becomming a total joke - they take wet weather tyres to the track then refuse to race in anything heavier than light drizzle.
Finally! Normal predictions, and not Ocon winning Monaco!
Don't agree with Ocon clanger, every single time he's had pressure about his future he performs, he even says himself that it drives him on more
There we go, 18th to 8th before obeying unfair team orders like the good teammate he is
Ocon the goat. All this haters are going to cry when he get a seat next year
1 win and 2 other podiums in midfield cars. But he has a couple of brushes with teammates and everyone says he's a washed driver.
He’s a very good driver, better than everyone on the market bar Sainz
RB are a mess this year & likely to sacrifice 1st & 5th in constructors championship due to #2 drivers in each respective team underperforming. Checo doing his usual mid season slump & Ricardo seriously a joke as Yuki takes a dump on him every race weekend, it's just sad & pathetic.
.104s is not a dump, it’s fine margins which is what this sport is.
Tommo you’re a bit quiet, could you turn up the mic a bit please?
When perez was in the dominated car he still couldn't do what Valterri did at Merc when they had it. 2 year? Aside from sponsorship money, I don't see why he is still there.
I love your input, but this video was too long for my taste.
Keep up the good work, friend
It's absolutely the wrong choice for Red Bull. It's very short sighted. They're going to lose Lawson and Tsunoda over this.
Verstappen will dominate all weekend and keep everyone online very quiet.
please call the green team: Astroll Martin
Lance Stroll
He is home
I hope he has a good race
