Musician Reacts to FINAL FANTASY XIV - Dragonsong - with official lyrics (The Final Steps of Faith) - Розваги
Fear not, I have since gone back and re-listened to the song without the cringe music video.
I am pleased to report that the song is mid, forgettable, unimpressive, and only of value in context within the game.
Cheers.
I can see your not much of a musician then
@@RainLight1991 Seriously he's like "HUR DUR VIDYA GAME MUSIC BAD."
Only thing he seems to like listening to is the sound of his own voice. I mean seriously dude don't pause the god damn thing every few seconds, a song is NEVER about visuals but the emotions the lyrics evoke you fucking philistine.
Lol what a musician would even post that comment, tonedeaf downranking your channel you are trash m8 :D
@@RainLight1991 I agree, his points have been ill informed and lack any substance. I'd say the only thing cringy in this video, is the guy in the bottom left :P I heard no valid musical opinion, a non musical person could say the same things through this video. I will make sure not to watch his reactions again (this was my first one of his, does he ever make any valid points). I wasn't gonna say anything and then I saw his comment. I can see why there is so many negative comments here. Have a dislike from me, you deserve it :D
definitely not what you expect to hear coming from a self proclaimed 'musician'.
If anybody likes listening to good music reactions I can highly recommend Jesse's Auditorium.
I can't imagine why you would upload this and think it is good. Try reflecting on yourself as a person.
"Musician" lol
"Musician".....right....Dude was so hung up on outfits and character design. He mentioned the cello a couple times which makes me begin to believe that is the only instrument he actually knows the name. Zero analysis of actual music.
I expected an intelligent conversation about music, but instead I heard criticisms about a game the critic has never played. Apparently this criticism extends to anyone who has actual experience with the game being criticized as well.
I'm going to assume this gives me the right to make completely valid criticisms against @We Streem without knowing anything about him, but I'll refrain since that would be childish and immature.
the incel bit really bothered me.
Like a girl can't wear skimpy armor ( although the Dragoon class gear isnt really all that skimpy). Also its a fantasy game... How does a girl stay warm in the cold? Magic. lol
For being "Musician reacts" there was surprising little analysis of the music. There are professional opera singers who have reacted to FFXIV's music and get entirely wrapped up in it while listening for the first time here on UA-cam.
I thought this vid was supposed to be reacting to music. Instead just some amateur got bored 10sec in, then started picking straws. (It doesn't matter if this from some other game or movie or even a musician. When you react like this people are going to get defensive for what they love.)
It's like if someone was skimming thru your merch while listening to your music and said the music was boring, then correlating the merch to the music to try to emphasize that it's towards a bad demographic. Man if you thought it was boring and you actually listened to it I would have given you the benefit of the doubt.
that what i thinking
he not even talk much about music just see visual and say random thing about that picture more than try to focus on melody and lyric and interpreted it
Exactly. Dude doesn't seem to have any interest in music whatsoever. Never blocked a channel from my feed so fast.
@@LimbicTides Hipsters are people who larp as artists but are really there because they want to look cool. They've always "heard of it" before. But the thing he labels "generic", in the moment he does, he thinks he's being mysterious. But music theory is something a lot of people know, and he's not hiding anything. He's reacting to the fact he recognizes the scale, and he thinks it makes him special. It's hilarious. The people who made all his favorite music didn't give a shit about looking "generic" to some random hipster. But he doesn't get it, because he's never given serious thought to his work. Because he's a poser.
TLDW: he comes in with a bias to JRPG music and criticizes the music based on the preconceived notions that if its not what he expects of the JRPG music genre its not likable. Also has an dedicated WOW players judgement on the game based on style of character design.
Actual TLDW:
Song is mid. Visuals are goofy and embarrassing niche. Fans are triggered cringe.
@@WeStreem How to relegate yourself to a tiny viewerbase of angry anti-FFXIV incels in one simple sentence.
You're a garbage person and a worse musician. Find a job that doesn't require you to interact with the public, you're a disgrace.
@@WeStreem What a childish answer ~
@@WeStreem Actual ACTUAL TLDW:
We Streem can't detect the subtlety and beauty of the meaning behind a song and can't get past his own bias.
@@WeStreem No you are embarrassing yourself.
Fucking yikes.
not even a true reaction to the actual song. Just a bunch of comments about the visuals.
I could do the exact same thing with every music video in the world- Pause every 5sec and just say the first thing that pops into my mind when I look at the pictures.
if this guy is a musician, I'm a rocket scientist for lighting fireworks
Musician... yeah ~ xD
Not every song is something for every person, and you didn't like it, that's ok, but you didn't act like a musician, a real musician listens to a song and don't pause every few seconds to rant about the song ~
More like a wannabe Musician who writes the "Musician" in the title to bait other to click on the video.
Hard to see it as an stand alone song when you pause every second. Not even a music reaction. How can you consider yourself a musician if you dont even let the phrases of the song finish? Listen to at least three measures good god.
agreed
Dude.... you're way too focused on the visuals and not on the music.
But if you must know yes that girl you saw with the bunny ears is a species in the game you can play as. You create your own character and decide what you want to look like, and there is even a form of a Transmog system that lets you change the appearance of your armor.
Look i get it's silly and unrealistic to wear clothes that are impractical in the snow but 1) It's a video game and not a simulator. And 2) This is supposed to be a reaction to the music, not clothes and bunny ears. The video is just footage taken from the game that relates to the song you're reacting to.
I also know you need to be entertaining the audience. And jokes are fine but in this case you're being disrespectful to the community and the audience that do like the game. I couldn't even finish the video cause you just don't understand the context. Next time just don't be so condescending and disrespectful. It's not cool..
"musician"
Carat
At this point I wonder if this "musician" actually noticed and took in the lyrics...lol
you mean the five second intervals he actually played the song while shittalking about the game ?
@@aurumvale9908 yes...yes indeed
I wouldn't be as bothered with the music analysis if it wasn't for the constant pausing to comment on the visual aspect of the video. Like the character displayed is your player character so visuals regarding that character are going to vary widely. I'm more bothered by the fact that it's commentary on the visuals 75% of the time rather than the music only.
For real. This dude is so into hearing himself talk. He didn't have half an ear for the music.
To put into context, this is like watching a 3rd party person listening to a Eulogy at a funeral and yelling this is boring during its service. To say this is the best written story in video game history isn't too farfetched. Some even goes as saying best ever in their life.
Yes, the JRPG fandom is well-known for casting exuberant praise beyond the actual quality of what they consume. It's nice you all enjoy it, but no amount of over stating its worth will get the rest of the world to agree.
@@WeStreem the praise comes from far more corners than just the JRPG fandom, maybe pull your head from your ass before you spew shit
Yes, i play video games since 24 years now, i went through every genre. FF14 is by far the best story i have ever been blessed to read with. It was a delight, even if it hurt so much at some points. The music just mirrors the quality of the game. That this UA-camr has such a strong negative opinion about something they didn't try themselves yet, is just weird to me, but to each their own.
@@WeStreem "I have literally no experience with this but am going to still be super condescending toward you without basis."
What a good look.
@@WeStreem Also, it is literally one of the most popular MMORPGs on the market on par with World of Warcraft and has only been getting more players. With around 2.2m active players and around 40m accounts created your statement comes off as ignorant to say the least.
Spoiler warning. In context this is a beautiful and fitting piece. The fight itself isn't a joyous or glorious occasion. The player character isn't fighting evil to save the world but taking part in a war that began with a betrayal and has been fueled by vengeance. The enemy is overcome with rage and grief and the only way to end the war is to put down this enemy that is essentially justified in his desire for revenge but is taking it out on an entire country of innocent people. Also halfway through the fight there's a cinematic scene and after the scene the song changes to a more energetic battle theme.
Couldn't have said it better
Exactly the End of a Dragon Human War, this Song is absolutly stunning, for one that doesnt went trough the Story cant tell. Im little upset the Video is actualy not the Original. And i kind of have a feeling this "Musician" doesnt really listen to the Music he went al nuts on Game Characters. Well after seeing all the thumbnails and pints, i come to conclusion this Dude Musician is a Troll.
seems to me that he has problems with Dragoon's armor and Viera's ears more than the song itself.
"Musicians Reacts to Dragonsong"
Actually only reacts to the unofficial visual montage
Unfortunately the song was as musically interesting as a vanilla ice cream is an interesting desert. It’s nice. It exists. Nothing wrong with it. However, at the end of the day, it’s still just vanilla ice cream. So I’m much more likely to talk about the ridiculous packaging it came in.
@@WeStreem Man! No wonder your so unpopular lmao. Hilarious that basically every other reaction I see to this song, esp non final fantasy players, has the opposite opinion of you.
@@Sanguinius876 Look what kind of music he makes on his second channel, after that you know everything about him being a musician that you need to know.
@@Mr._Pug Oh I don't need to know We Streem is utter shite from that, he more than speaks for himself here.
Hard to call this "musician reacts" when said "musician" isn't even reacting to he music.
The song from the the perspective of dragons who have been at war with humanity for centuries, a war that humanity started when they betrayed the dragons, but its leaders have long since covered up.
A cool bit is that the player hears the orchestral version of the song throughout the game, but the lyrics only come in right before the final battle when the protagonist is infused with the powers of an elder dragon and thus is able to understand the song.
Not entirely true, but the sentiment is right. It’s told from the perspective of you know who looking upon 1000 years of senseless death and betrayal between man and dragon.
what a joke, your reaction leaves much to be desired, please stop pausing every couple of seconds
clicked on a random ass react video and didnt expect a total shitshow lol
you and me both, but it's been fun screaming at people in the comments
@@screwgoogle4993 lets not waste more time on this shithead, the channel is dead anyway. bellow 70 views per vid lol i guess the money for bot viewing run out.
I like most of the reactions from this channel but what a huge miss here... spent 92% of the video talking shit about clothes and the game rather than the music. Then proceeded to insult the player base and development team by basically referring all of us to incels. I honestly would have never expected this from this channel..
Why do a reaction video to something with no kind of basic understanding or research 1st. The last like 3 minutes was what I actually came for. Also yes I've played this game consistently for 11 years and not once have I (a normal dude) been referred to a incel and judging someone for their tastes with zero knowledge on the subject is absolutely ignorant...
Expectation: Musician talks about the song. Reality: Some dude with remarkably little to say about the song primarily talking about the visuals. What a terrible video.
FF14 music is a rabbit hole you should ABSOLUTELY go down. There are too many amazing songs to list. That being said, this is definitely a kind of generic song out of context. For the record, the romance/tragedy it's singing about was between an ancient dragon and a human, who I'm pretty sure the dragon ended up eating her when she was on the verge of dying because they were both upset over the fact that one would have a vastly longer life than the other. And then the peace between dragons and humans that their relationship brought was broken when a bunch of humans slaughtered a dragon and took it's eyes for the power, starting a 1000 year "Dragonsong War"
7.08 the bunny in white is the player character of the person who made the video (the bunny girls are viera they originally came from final fantasy tactics and ffxii there are bunny boys as well) there is also cat girls and boys called miqote as for the fashion it's actually pretty equal and characters do tend to wear little in the way of clothes or armor. And recently alot of armor gear has been made unisex. And this is an FF mmorpg
The weather is different everywhere, its just glamor.
This is probably the best song in the game and the story is amazing, gives me chills still
Clown Reacts to FINAL FANTASY XIV - Dragonsong - with official lyrics (The Final Steps of Faith)
Absolutely beautiful song and story
Yeah, I don't know who sent it your way because it's not really a song that you can discern a lot of meaning from just some random cutscenes and the lyrics, without understanding the context. I don't think the flaming for your view is very fair because you got thrown into the deep end, but at the same time, I think even trying this reaction was probably a bad start and you probably got baited by whoever sent it to you.
The song was spinkled in without lyrics throughout the story. And this was at the ending of that story in game. A very emotion moment in the games story they add the lyrics to the theme u’ve been hearing.
His first mistake was referring to the expac as "heavens sword" even though "heavensward" was clearly written on the subs when he said ii 🤦
If you want a song with more power from FFXIV you should listen to either Scream, Feind, or Oblivion. Dragonsong is very much tied to the story of Heavensward and has a lot of emotional value to FFXIV players. The songs I listed aren't a big part of story but are rather just there to be bangers
"Musician" Lmao....
A joke is what you are, dont lie your resume dahling. :D
It's amazing how brazen people can be in their pretending to be something they're not
Maybe actually react to/analyze the music next time???
For a musician, you react to what you see alot. I also note that this is the only orchestral piece of music you have reacted to, so maybe you need to listen to more,
especially if all you have to compare it to is disney. "Rock Musician Reacts to" would do you justice.
I think I heard about one or two good points that you paused for.
I really dislike your format of reacting if this is typical of your content.
I thought I'd do a revisit to see if you had bothered to look up/upload any more orchestral songs. Nope. All heavy and or rock influence. Your opinion/criticism on this song is mid, forgettable, unimpressive and only of value in context of the rock or metal genre.
@@rpgfel3371 Dont pass this prick off onto rock or metal, he's a hipster prick who thinks recognizing a scale somehow makes him knowledgeable on music. Check out his stuff. Seriously. Talk about low-effort trash. "Of value". That's the funniest shit I've heard all day.
Yes, this song plays in the actual game. The song is the main theme of the Heavensward expansion and plays during the final boss of the 3.3 patch. Despite being a theme used in a boss fight, it’s a very emotional piece. The lyrics are meant to portray the 1000 year war between man and dragon. Also, yes, there are many skimpy outfits available for men in the game as well. You can even just simply walk around in your underwear if you want to lol
Yes, FFXIV is very much fanservice for all. Sometimes outfits people choose to wear might not fit the rest of the cutscene, but that's simply a choice of the gamer.
In general, I loved the whole Dragonsong War part. The game really picked up there for me. Stormblood has it's good parts (notably the Steppe) but also had fairly weak parts. Shadowbringers was strong throughout. Endwalker is good, but had some annoying parts, particularly those "don't let them see you" quests that were just tedious.
So I think Shadowbringers comes out on top, but Ishgard was pretty awesome, too. LOVED the way the dragons were portrayed. You have characters thinking they're making this grand journey with the great noble goals and the dragon will just drop down and give them a thwap to the head about how presumptuous they're being.
I think FFXIV tends to be good in how it portrays its villains, and Shadowbringers excelled at that in particular, where the villains were basically walking the same journey as the heroes. The Dragonsong War also had excellent 'villains', who aren't exactly evil and have good motives, and that's really where the strength comes in. When you can clearly see why everyone is doing what they're doing and it makes sense, and both sides can also make mistakes. (I like that they even let a hyper capitalist character have his good moments. He may do things to benefit his wallet, but sometimes that does mean doing good things, like keeping stability in the nation, instead of being a mustache-twirling villain. The characters have proper motivations behind their actions.)
The music in Final Fantasy 14 has always been a banger. The problem is that this is some fan made lyric video instead of the version that plays during the actual time it happens. Which further takes things out of context.
ua-cam.com/video/BnOKdmAcSP0/v-deo.html
Is the full and proper one that has the context in it.
Nah, the problem is this dude has no patience and gets distracted every 3 seconds.
@@dmckenna Meh, not really. FF14 really needs context for most of it's stuff to make sense into what is going on.
Dragonsong is good, but it's odd if you don't know what the hell they are talking about because the song's lyrics are heavily tied to the story.
And seeing as the person who made the music video used personal footage instead of what's with the game including the cut scene and fights etc. It just looks strange as opposed to what a FF14 player would get hearing the song.
Idk if someone mention it but at 6:32 the armor you see has a use because the job that this Charakter is on at this part is called dragoon. Dragoon are fighter and specialist agains dragons so the spiky armor should kill the dragon if he eats you or dont give him a chance to eat you. Also the armor should be not heavy because dragoons have to jump over some high to hit the dragoon so this is an another use 😅
If you don’t have context please don’t react to it as it just comes off annoying. Also, stopping every couple seconds makes this unwatchable.
If you wanna hear what's new and cool for FFXIV. Listen to "Scream"
if you're a musician then im elon musk
"Musician" "reacts"
lol once I hear him interrupting every single line of the lyrics with his biased op I closed the tab so quick.
Is he trying to get hate clicks? Lol cause its working. Careful there "musician".
Lol you guys should have started him on Answers lol with the trailer.
Wouldn't matter. This guy doesn't seem to care about the music one way or another. It looks more like clickbait so we could all watch a one man circlejerk.
rabbit ears are a thing because the race shown is a ~6 feet tall bunny. she has no other ears and the anatomy behind is not relevant. players like them and that's enough. :)
outfit will not always fit the weather but as you are able to let your current outfit look like something completely different it is not a clue for anything.
and yes, you are horribly wrong with almost everything you said. if you cannot react to the music because you have to talk about content flying over your head completely as a non ff14-player, you should not react at all. better luck next time....
Why are you disrespecting my game and community for? FFXIV is an awesome game and everyone I've played with have been extremely helpful and very nice! FFXIV has some of the best soundtracks ever... Maybe if you listen to the lyrics you'd understand... Those outfits are glamor by the way and I beat you'd censore Miqo'te and Ru Ra... I think you need some Final Fantasy in ya.
Well if you wanna know why you only get a max of 100 views this video is a good example of why
Yeah this is rather unfortunate. As much I heap praise onto FFXIV asking someone to checkout final steps of faith without the accompanying Niddhogs Rage portion does the song a disservice but thats just another 4 minutes added onto a song that you didn't seem to be into at all. Oh well, maybe next time well get ya with Closer to the Edge
I don't know how he couldn't understand the context of the song. It's literally telling a story. Two people love each other. Some assholes start trouble. The lovers make a sacrifice to preserve peace. The assholes lie about it. War breaks out. There's endless suffering. Dragons ask why humanity does this to itself. The song isn't even really about the game. It's just in the game. I kind of feel like he went out of his way to ignore the song and shit-talk it simply because it came from a composer who works for a video game company, which is so close-minded. Like, it's totally fine to have no interest in playing games, and we're all guilty of having some level of bias, but this was pretty egregious. That's just so disrespectful to the artist.
I don't know who gave you that song as an opener to the ff14 universe but they shouldn't have because it gives you no context, here are some songs you might actually enjoy (because it seems you don't like the slow ones):
Return to Oblivion
To The Edge

Hic Svnt Leones

Can't go wrong with Answers honestly. its literally intended to be the introduction to the game. lol but yeah totally agree, whoever suggested he start with Dragonsong was a pretty huge mistake
Alexander - Brute Justice Mode
This is the final song of the expansion, detailing the story of what happened between man and dragon thousands of years ago, what happened to cause a war to rage between man & dragon for a millenia.
Boring... good lord, how narrow is your range of musical interest?
Go wild and try out Alexander - Brute Justice Mode
I was tempted to google your name to know what kind of music you play but watching the first minutes of this video I realized its not worth the time. Good luck with your content whoever you are.
I guess you also didn't pay attention to when you write the title. "Musician reacts..." but 4 minutes into video and you have said nothing about the music.
No offense...but your not used to doing reactions I would assume. A "Musician reacts" that looks more at the visual and not the audio. And proceeds to pause it so much because of that, no wonder your bored with the song you won't let it play. I get it, copyright...but how you gonna react to music when the bunny ears distracts you from the vocals.
Kinda sexist of you dude
Enjoyed the visuals of this video, was definitely getting Beauty and the Beast vibes. Always here for the Thumbnails.
You want FF and heavy? Titans theme the bowel of embers. That is some heavy rocking
The UA-cam channel that officially has the best thumbnail moments
Why even upload the video if you didnt like the song? You must realize that shitting all over something people enjoy, myself included, is gong to get heavy pushback. Unless you wanted that type of reaction.
Please don't react to videogames music anymore if you feel compelled to stop music every 3 seconds just to diss the visuals
So so enjoyed this your reaction an thst beautiful piano thanku so much love an God bless always x
It's a song about the story so if you don't have context then yea its a boring song. With context tho it's all chills
