Love it. A lot of mystery in this video. Can't wait to find out if the gold eagle is real. That proof set is very interesting and should be graded. Cheers!
The 1799 is the only coin I would send in for authentication (and I am dubious of it despite the weight as the device esp. just don't quite catch me as "right"), the others IMO not worth it. The sov is at best a 61/2 coin. The crowns and half crowns (even the 1897) not there either - for grading that is. Copper nickel does not conserve too well most of the time (ie the Burma).
love that 1799 draper looks to me like its real and maybe it has been mounted at one time or other, burma set looks great will look better with conservation...great vid...

That early gold eagle is an awesome coin if it’s real, I’d love to own one for my type set. I had to stop at the classic head half and quarter eagles because the older types like this one are so expensive. I will say I haven’t had many of them in hand but it does seem kind of off to me, that could be from some kind of cleaning or tooling or it could be a fake. Have to be careful with those coins because they are very tempting to counterfeit because of the prices they fetch. Hope it comes back legit.
I've been watching your channel for years and just started getting into British coins as a result. A quick question for you. Do you think it's better to collect crowns or half crowns (pre 1900)?
I would suggest rather buying Gold (sovereigns) instead of crowns. The premiums on crowns are very high and silver is only at 18$ right now. It depends if you want to primarily invest or start a collection. Crown are also much harder to sell compared to sovereigns.
Braden sovereigns are the best to start a historic collection. Low premium, plenty of possibilities and great heritage. You can also get graded coins in mint state for about 400£. If you’re in the US you could check out APMEX, they have BU Sovereigns for basically no premium. Or you could try the Coin Cabinet auctions in the UK. I bought a 1913S MS64 for 350£ there recently. Excuse my English, I’m from Germany.
Im comparing the video coin with the ngc picture and seeing some differamces in detail. The cheak is flatter on the ngc picture. Wingtips are not as rounded. Stars are spread every so slightly differantly and more. Would a mintage of just less than 35,000 gold coins require more than one die pair? Maybe its a differamt reverse die ? I dont want it to be counterfit unless its old enough to stand on its own as a "collectable counterfit " . something made within a very few decades after the minting of the real coin that is expertly done, could stand on its own merrits . I do hope it is real though. Details or not.
Hmm, the 1799 looks very suspicious. Obverse stars are misshapen and worn down oddly. Reverse details are very soft and weird. Maybe someone polished the living heck out of it, but then you'd expect some weight loss along with that.

If that 1799 gold eagle is real it is worth a small fortune.
How much do u think is the gold real 1799 coin?
Espectaculares piezas! Saludos desde España!

Gold Sovereigns not guineas

Been waiting for new videos from you!!!!
10 dollars looks legit. Obv possibly polished and an edge knock, but still a nice coin
40 seconds in, it is real but looks like like a AU Details Grading for cleaning/polishing. Let's see...

There are 2 types of this coin Large stars and small stars obverse. Don't know if reverse are any different
This Large Star obverse 1799 look so odd it probably be genuine
Also those 1940 HC are not worth grading and the 2nd one has been cleaned on the obverse
Thanks!!!
It seems off, no coin that old should weigh dead on.
If it is truly uncirculated they could weigh dead on. If it had a lot of wear on it then it shouldn’t. It does look kind of off to me tho.
@@justinsnider9772 Its a fair comment but its also got a really big ding in it. not buying it personally however I am happy to be proved wrong :)
I have coin 1799 silver coin
The diameter seems too large and it's way too thin to be genuine.
The 1799 was 33mm rather than. 26mm of the later ones so it matches real ))
@@Numistacker Ah, Okay. I stand corrected. Thank you.
Happy 4th July sal. Do u still have the £5 sovereign it's a corker!! SLURP
10 долларов хорошая монета, хотя и работанное поле, всё остальное барахло.
Doesn’t look real. Looks new.

Gonna go out on a sidewalk and guess the Draped Bust is a Chinese reproduction, little gold.
It is 22ct gold tested will tell the rest of the story in the next one
Oh, excellent!
The 1897 HC has been tooled its not die polish
made in China
