It was 70% not 50% in maths requirements for CS when I first registered in 2020... unless they changed it...And you saved your life from Physics I also switched it to CS...PHY1004W is the most difficult course in 1st year level at UCT, MAM1000W is nothing... I was also very good in it in high school I got over 90% but my first test I got 26%💔😭😭😭
Hi,im in grade 11 and wanna study at uct but im currently doing a commerce course with computers included because my school didnt include physics with computes, will i still be able to do the science faculty?
I’m currently doing grade12. My status currently says my marks are not competitive yet so I’m scared that I might not get admitted in this faculty off Bsc of SB001 which is computer Science
I wanna do Computer science and right now I'm upgrading my mathematics and physical science, I wanna know if I'll be able to do the course if I didn't do information technology in High school😩
Can I ask ,what if I didn't reach the minimum requirements in Grade 11 n applied with that report then got a minimum of 75% on final year (matric) ..would they accept me?
So how Universities work is they give out conditional acceptances before the final exam marks are out . So If you didn't do well in grade 11 then I think you can redeem yourself with grade 12 term one and use that report to apply instead
I wanna major in computer science and applied mathematics but since you revealed computer engineering as a double major I'm interested in that combination , my question is will i do mathematics if i go for computer science and computer engineering because i love numbers and math ?????
Yes you can do maths And since you interested with computer Engineering you will do the hardest Maths Don't worry too much the orientation leaders will help you with your curriculum 🥰😍
@@abongile_n cool then I'll choose computer engineering as my double major , i can't wait for the mathematics , I wanna fuck some shit up . Thanks you are the best bro .
Hello thanks for your useful information Please give me some information about requirements for applying for master or PhD programs in computer science
Hi, I'm in grade 11 and my subjects are all well except for mathematics. The requirements are 70% yet i keep on getting 65-69% and I'm so worried I won't get in. How did your report mark look like?
To be honest nothing worthwhile is easy but hard doesn't mean it is impossible . I had zero experience in coding but I'm doing it because i have passion for it . You can do it 😊😊
when i take computer science right , will that lead me to becoming a software engineer? because i applied for computer science majoring in that and computer engineering . so now im wondering will it lead to me being a software engineer?
Hi Abongile. I have a random question. Which campus is the computer science faculty at uct? And which suburb does it fall under? I am currently looking for accommodation for my little sister and a bit clueless and Google maps hasn't assisted much
Oh hey Well UCT is in Cape town Well CS is at Upper Campus , Rondebosch There are many res that you can check out at lower Campus or you can email uct administrators to send you a link for private reses I'm sure they can help you better
You will do CS courses however you will all be exposed to accounting , financial analysis and financial management. Its a nice intersection between CompSci and Commerce subjects
if you want to study CS through the science faculty/ BSc, yes. You'll need to get above 60% for that and above 70% in maths. There are other faculties such as Commerce and Humanities, where you can study some CS courses. Though it might not be as in depth as Computer science in the Science faculty
Hello, very helpful video. I am si stressed about admission so I would like to know if I have good chances of been accepeted with a 70% or more average ?
Don't choose something easy. Choose what aligns with your goals.
Easy in Comp Science🤔
I should have discovered u earlier

If there are late applications in the following year then I think they will consider your final
