Great technique, Shari! Thank you for sharing😀 I see you’re using Gamblin cold wax- I have a large jar of Dorlands cold wax, would it work the same? Or is Gamblin the recommended wax? Thank you for your time. I want to take your workshop (past workshops from you have all been amazing!) but still working full time, will have to wait til I retire later this summer. Thanks again!
Shut the front door!!!! I didn’t realize cold wax would bond permanently. I love the wax finishes you recommended, but scan my originals and then want to altar. Bringing out the encaustic “lab” requires much space and time...both sadly limited. Once again you have pivoted me in a new direction!!! Thank you so much!!!!
That is awesome Lorraine ! Yes it is true that cold wax is much more portable with no heat tools required. So wonderful that you are scanning your originals and that way you can explore so many different directions with your prints ! Have a lot of fun !

The wax acts as a glue? It dries and hardens?
Hi Nena ! Yes you can include light weight papers like acid free tissue, gold leaf etc. It dries slightly faster than oil paint .
