The lower engine mount has to be removed! Otherwise when you lower the engine you destroy the mount!

How you doing I've watched all her videos on how to fix things on my PT cruiser which is an 01 I seem to find yours the best the lighting is good the hands are out of the way and the explanation is good and simple Thanx the only thing I don't like bout my car is it's very tight they must have been designed by midgets u need tiny hands to work otherwise it's a 👍

About 8 years back I did mine on a 2.0 I removed the airbox, the intakes, slung the power steering punp and aircon pump with a welding rod removed the upper and lower torque arms and using ratchet straps slung the engine from a length of 4x4 laid across the engine bay with a Jack under the engine undo the 2 suspension strut lower bolts then undo both remaining engine mounts and push the block across a couple of inches to get room to remove the mounting plated the belt pull the motor back into place air con not discharged but watch out for camshaft sensor when moving engine

Did my first timing belt on pt it took 3 days and half, once you figure out how to remove the mounting bracket real quick the rest will be smooth sailing.

They make a tool to install the crank pulley. When you hammer it on like you did you risk damaging the crankshaft thrust bearing and using the bolt to pull it on will just wear out the threads on the bolt. There is the right way and the butcher's way.

There's no way u have all the slack to install the timing belt easily

my elderly neighbor drives one of these. i do regular maintenance and fix small things on the car to help her out. i drive old jeeps and chevys, i did not know what i was signing up for when i said i can do the water pump. these are truly terrible vehicles and i hope the engineers feel ashamed of what they've done
