1979 is when I got to IITM, had a chance to spend 5 yrs, and also went to IITB, IITD, and KGP for fests, sports, indelible memories, still go to iitm to unwind almost 40+ yrs later 🙏
IIT KANPUR IS AMAZING. NO WORDS FOR IITK. IT'S LIKE KINGS PLACE FOR KINGS MAN. 24 HOURS LIBRARY WITH 24 HOUR HIGH SPEED INTERNET FACILITY WHICH IS NOT SEEN IN MANY IITS. ALWAYS PROUD TO BE AN IITIAN.
My brother is in IIT roorkee..but not went to college campus even once ... because of lockdown...I feel... sometimes really bad for him as studied too hard for his entrance exam.......

IIT Kanpur is quite different from others considering some rules and restrictions ( it is based on US institutes). You can go in and out of the hostel any time. Girls are allowed in boys and boys are allowed in girls hostel uptill 12 A.M.
Ye sab jab maine dekha tha 3 saal pehle bahut maza aata tha Now m in IIT Kanpur 2nd or 3rd largest campus in India. Really want to go there but bloody covid not letting us visit our campus.🥲
new iits are even better... for example IIT Ropar (Chandigarh) has very greeney and charming campus...they provide single rooms and also have lifts. Likewise...IIT gandhinagar is also beatuiful ...with ac rooms.
IIT is not a college, it's an Institute. There is a difference between University and College. Nalanda was an University, not a college. Indian educational system don't teach this difference, unfortunately.
Mujhe lagta hai isse IIT Mandi k bare main nahi pata . IIT mandi ko log IIT jannat bolte hai . Jo ye comment padh ra hai vo ek baar dekh k aye iit mandi ki kuch campus videos. I'm an alumnus of IIT Kanpur. Campus 'life' is great (food/freedom/fun) but the campus is just okay. Nothing compared to other four mentioned here.
