You're the only one with an oil pan replacement video that goes into detail on those hard to reach bolts. Subscribed just because of that. Great video!
Perfect tutorial, been looking for a step by step like this for a while. How long should you wait before refilling with engine oil and running the engine?
Hey man. There is a wire that is close to the oil Filter on the 1.8t engine... I accidentally pulled out one of those wires (hair thin wire) any idea on what it is?
I just put a hole in my oil pan bottoming out on the shoulder and will have to do this. There needs to be some kind of skid plate there. Anybody know where I can get one or if they make them and how much?
WARNING SPEC ON THE OIL PAN-TRANSMISSION BOLTS is ONLY 33 FT POUNDS Don't go to 59 ft lbs like he says in the video, I trusted it and I broke a bolt in half.

***** You could refill immediately. I usually wait an hour or so.
Thanks Ryan Turner. Was curious because I came across someone that mentioned to wait at least 24 hours.
I rounded the allen key in one of those 4 gearbox bolts. Please tell me how to get it out. I have tried everything and i cannot get a socket onto it
Did you ever get it out
Yea i have the same problem
Same Here, Does Anybody Know??
You have to drill the head off or cut it off then once the pan is dropped you can use pliers to remove the screw
You just move the engine so that you have more clearance to get a socket on, there's cutouts in the flywheel
He said schmutz. I like it.

ss1970chevelle454 You can get awesome steel skid plates from ecstuning.com
Those three bolts near the flywheel are much easier to get to with a 6 point socket.. no change of rounding them.
If you can get on them, i can't get on them with enough grip to loosen them.
Rounded mine inside and out

It's more likely that you strip the aluminium threads on the pan before you break a bolt... Maybe you had a bad bolt?
I'm gonna do 33 # i guess.. i don't want to break anything
whats the price for a new pan?
Thanks for the great video!
Great video. Thank you
