So glad I discovered this resource (videos, and especially your written reviews!) as I research for my first scooter. I was going to go with the slightly cheaper Pro but I can't resist the Max!
Mine is coming tomorrow 😁.
Very excited!
Great video! Thank you!
I’m definitely making the purchase. Great budget scooter.
What a quality video, thank you.
I really like those gloves, the pattern matches well with the Max's handlebar pattern. Do you have an amazon link for those?
Btw, This video made me take the leap and buy this - my very first e-scooter!
the cons can outweigh the pros
the scooter is great for an urban environment, but not all urban environments are flat
this scooter sucks when it comes to climbing hills, has a poor acceleration, the top speed is 41 kmph (or if you want freedom units 25 mph, but according to the website the max is 20 mph)
if you live in an area where the terrain varies, it is better to invest in a higher end scooter rather than go for something a mid tier scooter at least in terms of pricing
the main downsides are the motor as it is underpowered
the battery life is also not very great and lasts about 2-3 hours going at full speed before defaulting to 10 mph on the last bar
it would be great to see turboant selling upgrade packages as the chassis is pretty decent and is quite lightweight and easy to carry
the manufacturer also recommends the rider to not ride in the rain
I have a problem with mine which is when I try to fold it the stem is too long which causes the hook not to go in the latch so if someone has a solution please let me know
Where do I buy this in the UK? (I dont want the X7 or X8/X7 pro, but i can only see those). Any help is welcomed
where can you buy this in the UK?
Is this a more fun scooter than the V8?
Will you be reviewing the V8 anytime soon?
Thanks for such detailed great reviews, you're a real pro, seriously, thank you
Thanks! Both X7 Max and V8 are fun - Full review of the V8 is on my website - www.electricscooterinsider.com/electric-scooters/reviews/turboant-v8-review/
Thanks again, really appreciate it!
Would you recommend this or the v8?
This seems like a great scooter and I saw a video for bigger guys this is actually a good scooter also, I'm 6-foot 245, somebody also suggested the NIU kqi 3 sport, if anybody has any suggestions on either of these I'm struggling to figure out what to get for my height and weight I live at the beach it's all flat so Hills aren't a problem, unfortunately I'm about the $600 price range
Is it possible to move the brake handle to the right side? I can't tell if that brake on the handlebar is permanent or not.
you cant move it because the throttle on the right has a set screw that threads into the handlebar and the wiring coming out of it is toward the center so you would have a weird setup and be kinking the wire if you did move it.
@Electric Scooter Insider should review HX branded scooters!
Quick question I have not found answered anywhere on the internet. How heavy is the detachable battery, separate from the scooter itself?
I read on another review 7lbs
great video, great scooter
Is their anyone over 250 lbs that is using this scooter? The maximum says 275 area and wanted to know if anyone has an opinion about the scooter from that standpoint?
!!! 🙂Great Video 🙂!!!
I heard the speed limit is 20 mph for my area i wanted something that would fold and be light weight compared to the mileage so i bought the x7 max no accidents so far but winter gets me 5-6 miles per full charge but any electric vehicle is going to do that
5-6 miles? That’s a significant reduction. How much do you weigh?
@@titookundaye7790 🤣😂
Is the Pro and Max have the same battery and are they interchangeable?
I think he said the pro doesn't have a detachable battery
no not interchangeable they are from two different manufacturers
@@crissyamethyst1783 the pro does have a detachable battery
They are the same battery internally, but the locking options makes them unique, so they are not interchangeable
Single stems and SUPER narrow handlebars are terrifying.
Wolf King GT Pro and its similarly-designed predecessors (Wolf Warrior series) are the way to go for safety and efficiency.
It is 7x the price, triple the weight. Clearly not even remotely the same product category.
Dude, apples to oranges, not even closely the same product. And let's be real, this travels at bicycle speeds, it's not the same at all.
Why are all these scooters even up to $1k only have a 350watt
That was the one thing I hoped the Max would have over the Pro, but oh well!
I got mine for $479 shipped from their website. I'm not sure what you're looking at.
HX X8 classic is the ORIGNIAL OEM scooter to the Turboant X7 pro... HX is the better choice for brand and should of been represented properly in this video.
It’s literally not even a brand really anymore when you search that up this scooter comes up
@Jermex 23 that's dependant on which search provider you use. However HX is still a brand and the manufacturer of the scooter, TurboAnt just has a contract with HX to purchase the scooter at wholesale value with thier own version of electronics. Now the X7 Max is not a HX scooter still haven't found if that is a in house model or a variant of another company. But the big thing is that TurboAnt X7 pro has no bluetooth or electronic braking. But when I installed the HX X8 Classic electronics in my X7 Pro I gained bluetooth functionality and electronic braking, and customer support is better with HX. Not only that but HX continues to show how they build the scooters on thier channel. TURBOANT HAS NOTHING.
Bummer, looks like that model, the HX X8, is not water proof. I'll have to go with the one in the video for that reason.
@@crissyamethyst1783 turboant x7 pro isn't waterproof either. the one in the video isnt waterproof either.... you have a removable battery on the stem there is no way of making it water proof
I am so mad at this scooter. Just got it in and unlike the X7 Pro, this one does not have a full functionality setting to remove the speed governor. Absolute buzzkill hitting 20 and feeling the scooter jolt and slow down. I am returning this shit, no matter the cost.
That code ESI100 doesn’t work…….
They stopped it as it's already been discounted heavily
