Vinay Patel is a British scriptwriter. His television project, Murdered by My Father was nominated for three BAFTA's and a Royal Television Society Award. In this interview Vinay details his experiences growing up in London during a period of racial tension. He describes how the murder of Stephen Laurence impacted his family’s perception of his safety, and how he successfully navigated his way through the cultural expectations from those around him to build a successful career as a playwright.
