At the same time, its varieties are much more different from each other than any other soups. Here and fish with seafood (by the way - these are classic chowders), and various types of meat and vegetables. One thing unites them - it is a very thick soup (corn can act as a thickener - like ours, potatoes, and most often crackers), on the verge of goulash known to us (that is not soup, although goulash is primarily soup). Definitely cream or milk. Definitely a lot of vegetables. The recipe that we bring to your attention comes from Virginia. Corn chowder - or corn chowder - is meat-based, most commonly bacon, but may also be chicken. And it can rightfully be a symbol of American autumn, because this dish is one of the main dishes at harvest festivals from Virginia to Ohio. That is, where huge plantations of corn stretch.
For cooking you will need:
Bacon, brisket or bacon -200 gr
Butter - 40 gr
Onion - 300 gr
Bulgarian pepper -200 gr (1 each red and yellow or green)
Celery - 200 gr (4 stalks)
Carrots - 300 gr
Flour - 90 gr
Chicken broth - 2.5 l
Corn - 10 cobs
Potatoes - 600 gr
Cream - 300 ml
Salt
Black pepper (peas and ground)
Bay leaf
Dried thyme 1 tablespoon
Tabasco - to taste
Worcestershire sauce - 2 tbsp
Calorie corn chowder - 133 kcal / 100 g (Nutrient: Proteins 5.1 g, Fats 7.4 g, Carbohydrates 11 g)
Cooking time - 1 hour 45 minutes

В Британии, chowder - это любой вариант очень густого супа. (Овощи, мясо)
Т.е. это не имя собственное. И едва ли это отсылка к котелку, скорее к содержимому.
Но, не настаиваю на этой версии.
А суп нужно пробовать :) выглядит интересно.
Може бути (про густий суп). Що стосується назви:французьке слово Chaudière, означає «котел». В нашому випадку корн чаудер - кукурудзяний суп
Столько перца в суп. Да плюс "Табаско" . Не остро?
Перец ведь сладкий. А Табаско пять капель дадут совсем легкую остроту
