Great video. I completely didn't realize that G Tasks allows different lists. One problem I have had with tasks lists is I put down a task to do and wind up with a cluttered list of wanna dos and don't wind up accomplishing anything, or ignore the list totally. The different lists can allow me to have a wish list to review and switch to an active todo list, assigning a specific time and due date. Didn't realize how useful it is. Thank you .,

Hi Scott- Thank you for another helpful video! I keep bouncing back and forth between Google Tasks and Todoist. What draws me back toi Todoist is that I can color-code and rate importance of my tasks as well as having 2 lists on one screen . Any suggestions how to make those nuances work on google tasks? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Kind regards- Ian
Thanks for sharing this helpful video, Scott. I use tasks on my Chromebook but not on my Pixel Phone. I'll do so now since you shared how to use it on a phone. I didn't know how to use multiple lists until now. Likewise, I was unaware of the sort option and the ability to drag to reorder tasks until you pointed it out. I use it mostly with Google Calendar and occasionally, with Gmail. I haven't used it in Google Drive or Google Docs but I will now after your tips.
Good presentation. Google Tasks has a glaring omission, the ability to search for a task(s). This searching omission affects the PC and our Android Mobile app; Tasks cannot be searched. The ability to search within Task is particularly important, especially as one uses Tasks to become more organized and work on more projects.
Wow! Fantastic Video Scott. One main reason why I use google tasks is that I can read an email and send it directly over to a task from gmail. It is one of the options on the menu when I am reading the gmail email. It makes it super easy to find it later. I do, however, find it glitchy. If google tasks is open it will save the task right from gmail but if not, I need to repeat the process. Have you or anyone else found this to be the case?
Hi and thanks for all this. Is it possible when sharing a google calendar to someone else, that that person can also see tasks? My new boss shared his google calendar with me but when I go to the side bar I don't see tasks- it's looking like it thinks that tasks is for me not him (i dont yet have tasks and so of course it is not there yet). Is there a way he can give permission or allow or whatever when sharing to let me see his tasks? thanks
Hi awesome video! I wanted to know, let's say you have a few different list for example: (1) Shops (2) Work (3) Home (4) Self Development & so on and so forth, is there a way to make your list appear exactly in the way you want it? Meaning (1) Shops will always be at the start and (4) at the end? Hope I'm making sense? Thanks in advance.
Yes, Errol. You can drag and drop the order of your lists in Tasks. In the list dropdown (at the top of Tasks) you can click and rearrange the order. I hope that helps!
How do I add a task with my voice. For example with iOS reminders all I have to do is say remind me to do such and such. Is it possible to do something similar with Google Tasks?
Thanks for the video! Will the Task app allow you to add a task after the fact? That is, say as an afterthought just to have a record, can you enter a date BEFORE today's date? The Task App seems VERY similar -- almost a clone? -- to the Google Keep App. Keep will not let you enter a date before the current day, by the way.
can you just put tasks directly into google calendar instead of in a separate app? if so is there any particular benefit of having a seperate app? i am thinking of switching to google calendar for my organization insteqd of a paper planner for convenience so i'm just watching some of these videos to see what i would have to do
Thank you for the video. Can you do a search of completed tasks via Google calendar or tasks? It seems that the search only finds active tasks but not completed ones Thanks

Great video. I have one question - how do we search in Google tasks? In the calendar view, it searches for the word only in Calendar events; but not within Google tasks. I have tested this. Any suggestions please?
is there any feature in task or calander that allow me along with my colleague to add or complete the task using different email id but sharing the events or tasks.
i was searching (and havent found here) how can you make a repeating (monthly) task and how to make it complete for this month and reappear on next occuring. if i leave it as it is, will show overdue, if i mark complete dissappear for good and doesnr show again. so how do you complete repeating tasks?
@@sspearskc you got me excited for a second 😭 the web version, iPad version, & iPhone/android version all allow you to create subtasks but they don’t allow you to make the parent task a recurring task

Apparently desktop notifications for events and tasks only function when the Calendar app is open. Is that true? I find it strange that an alert will always appear on a smartphone running Tasks, whether or not the app is open, but on the desktop you have to have Calendar open, which is not a very reliable way to receive notifications.
I don't understand why all sub-tasks don't just automatically indent. Very confusing! Another helpful feature would be the ability to add attachments to tasks. Am I missing something?
I want to do the same thing! Okay here is something I have been looking for an answer for: I work with timelines. Each project has the same timelines and due dates for the most part. Is there any way I can duplicate the days between tasks? Ex. After Task 1, I need to have Task 2 completed with in 10 days, then when I have Task 2 completed, I need to complete another task within 30 days etc. . . Is there any tool out there that could help accomplish that and make it more simplified?
My use case might be different from yours (student), but I think you’re asking if there’s a way to automate the process so after you’re done with one task, the other task populates on its own and is within the same timeframe? If so, I connect my notion projects to my Google calendar & things 3 task list. I use a formula in Notion to automatically add the days & set the schedule. I don’t know if that makes sense but it took a lot of tinkering to get it to work
