I enjoyed my A51 for over 14 years and A21 for many years that matter too, faultless operation, design, build quality and sound presentation is beyond reproach... Plus Parasound is just a great company for support should it be needed.... Now that I have committed to returning to hifi rather than pursuing multi channel, I researched other possibilities for amplification, but can say that I have been enjoying my JC5 for close to a year now (next level!)
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude....... I don't think Parasound have ever made a poor power amp..... The upcoming JC1+ will be the true monsters of the range..... But the JC5 is a beast👍🏻
Thanks for doing an unboxing video for these behemoths! I have added two more Parosund Halo A23's, now I have 5 in the system. Now my mains, center, and rear surrounds are bi-amped. My Yamaha receiver powers my two Atmos speakers.
That a51 looks nice! It's built like a tank! I use 2 Rotel power amps. The 5 channel RMB 1585 @ 200 x5 8 ohms and 300 x 5 at 4 ohms. I use the 2 channel RB 1590 @ 350 pc 8 ohms. I'm in the process of buying a processor to replace my Pioneer SC LX 76 old school THX Select2 AVR. Love that a51 though!
This happens to be the current decision I am struggling with: I have been looking at the same Rotel setup that you have. I really like the appearance of the amps and they both match my power requirements perfectly. Then there is Parasound with a crazy amount of positive reviews coupled with the John Curl circuit design hype. At the moment, it looks like if I wanted the amps to physically match, I would have to go with the older models like the A21 and A51. The A21+ and A52+ are entirely different from each other. I know audio quality is the most important, but my OCD wants the amplifier chassis' to match as well. There is really no way for me to audition either one of these brands. I would love to have them for a trial run, just to see how they behave with my equipment. Have you been able to compare them? What is your take if I may ask?
I live in Europe. I happen to live in Germany ‘s largest city,so there’s a lot of hi-fi shops where you set up appointments or walk ins. You can have a private listen. I read a lot of great reviews about both Rotel amps. I went to the same shop where I purchased my SVS subs for a listen. I was blown away by the sound!!! I comparison to my Pioneer AVR the sound was much warmer. I’ve never had a chance to listen to the Parasound amps, but always wanted to. The taxes that are leveled against imports in Germany can be crazy?! When I come back state side and see the price comparison, you wanna sh*t your pants?! The Parasounds are just to expensive here. If they sold them in the PX over here ? Yeah,I’d go for it!
I inherited a Parasound HCA-1206 from my dad. The thing is 75lbs and solid as a rock after 20+ years. The MSRP at that time was $2k which was a pretty penny at that time.
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude True, Parasound isn’t cheap, but my feeling is there are far more expensive options that don’t surpass it in any meaningful way, so it comes down to value. And as you pointed out, screens and amps can be used and enjoyed for years.

Jack Ryder good question. I have straight up 25 videos to shoot. That is one of them. The 51 I think is the better amp. It’s heavy, it’s solid, and it packs a punch 250x5 at 8 ohms. The 52+ is great for almost any situation and it still sounds incredible. Both units run cool and have no bake in time as to how quick they sound amazing. I’m impressed with both of them. So much so that I want to sell my arcam and buy a second 52+
