Jasmine Paris.... the greatest performance of the past decade. Thank you for recognizing this incredible achievement and reminding us all of just how monumental that moment was and how truly worldwide mainstream media the story became. She has undoubtedly inspired so many girls and women to believe in what is possible.
I'm glad you both had Elhousine as your top pick for male ROT. You can see it that at every finish, he really gave it out all. Of course I'm biased since I got to know him a little at the Kobe race, he is so down to earth, but really, getting a perfect score in the GTWS means he won 4 races, and in the other races he didn't win, he always podiumed anyways. And yea, Katie Shide for female ROT is also pretty much a given, considering her phenomenal year. What a grinder, and as you mentioned, I really look forward to her and Courtney one day duking it out, it will/would be epic.
Always great listening to a recap by the dynamic duo. I'll mention two rookies, although the 1st one showed up in couple races in 2023 (Where do we draw the line?): Oria Liaci finishing the Golden Trail World Series with four top 10s in a row. Nina Engelhard (Strange to mention Lukas but not her), who won 2 golds at the European Champs and also a WMRA Race
@Freetrail not necessarily direct incentive, but you do receive a Hardrock qualifier / lottery entry if you finish UTMB. I believe Jeff Colt ground out a finish in 2023 simply because of the Hardrock qualifier incentive.
The only reason why Claire Bannwarth is not on that "Trailrunner of the year" list has to be that nobody can comprehend what she is doing and I know it is truly mind-boggling. For me she won both cathegories. Mens and womens bc she is amazing.
@@uloutdoors Let's agree to disagree, can't know for certain, but something tells me that if Claire was a quirky "Beast coast" or PNW multiday/FKT runner, she would be name dropped way more frequently in these conversations.
For the record, Claire was voted in as #7 as TROY for 2023, she's not overlooked, she just didn't make it in this year compared to the amazing efforts that so many other amazing women put down. I don't see any bias here, she's got a full interview about her last year right on the channel: ua-cam.com/video/I5q2HyEYYLY/v-deo.htmlsi=WdnmHKr9-LH7fTm6
Hey there. With respect to audience base, I’m watching from Hong Kong. Great discussion!

I got to hang with both of you in Chamonix. Best.Trail.Season ever. Let's repeat in 2025.
what not break it down between ultra distance & sub ultra?
comeback athlete of the year could be cool. Zach Miller, Sophia Laukli, and Anthony Costales early candidates for 2025!

Didn't courtney also win the swiss alps 70k?

There's another reason, she's not from the USA so she gets overlooked.
@@RunningMan1414 I don´t think that that is a reason, there are many athletes on the list who are not from the US on there.
