Eureka is so odd as primal it’s really terrifying, while hearing your description of it I couldn’t help but think of SCPs and the monstrosities there lol
What’s shocking even more so is that you mentioned, while Eureka itself cannot cause harm, the artifacts it creates are in essence lesser primals by immediately tempering the user who interacts with them. It’s horrifying that someone’s positive motivations or ambitions can be used to deadly consequences
Love this. In my opinion the story of euteka, might be one of the most underrated part of 14’s lore and world. Btw do you think that you will a lore of the samurai on day?
I personally really like the Isle of Val as a story element. It's got just enough info yet enough untold that you can make your own conclusions and headcanons. For instance, I have my character's backstory have him originally be from the Black Shroud, but taken to the Isle of Val during his childhood. There he expressed his aptitude for magic and love of books, and when he reached adulthood he ultimately set out to become an adventurer, going to Limsa to further study the art of arcanism.
Thank you. I have rushed through parts of the scenes as I was in a party and didn’t want to keep people waiting so this is helpful to catch up. Also, I haven’t made it to 60 yet (at 55 to date) so this helps since I’ve been in Eureka long enough to not care about spoilers.
I haven’t watched the vid yet but I will after clearing eureka. They named dropped it in an interview so I’m trying to make sure I do it along with job quests
I know Eureka is one big fan service like thing for FFXI players, but I am curious if Absolute Virtue was created from some trace of memory from the 11th Shard (assumed to be FFXI's location)
The lore say that elder primal Zodiark is the strongest but it sounds like Eureka is the real beast giving it's ability to create anything. Edit: I saw the story up pass shadow bringer so I kinda take back what I said tho I would argue that Eureka is the 4 strongest primal & is technically more destructive than the elder primal bahamut.
Juwt what I needed to take me through the day. Thank you for your lesson professor. Splendid work, as always. May I request the story of Omega next? Also... Discord squad HYPE.
Will there be more? Like, a small addendum about what happened after the adventurers and WoL went through and cleared the arsenal, and what happens with Krile and Ejika during their time there?
Professor, It was only recently I stumbled upon your lectures, and was blown away by the way they were told. Your tales instantly managed to grip my attention and kept such a tight grip that I found myself listening intently until their end, furthermore, in so far as I can tell they had little to no inaccuracies, drawing from tomes of lore and the common word around Eorzea and its surrounding landmasses. Even so.. Whilst I am certain this point has been brought up many times by now, it would help those wanting to look into your subjects more deeply a great deal if you could list your sources in the future? - Even if it is simply a list of people we may be able to talk to. I understand, however, the reluctance to reveal these sources, especially given the sensitive nature of some subject matters. Hopefully you might at least consider it again? Yet I digress, my intent was not only to make this request. It was also to congratulate and thank you; Your contributions to the community are greatly appreciated, and I hope you keep this up. I will eagerly continue looking forward to further lectures. Perhaps you could cover the War of the Magi sometime, if you have not discussed it at length yet? - Xeri'to Loryhide, Aspiring seeker of knowledge.
Xeri'to Loryhide, Pleasure to make your acquaintance! I'm glad I was able to inform and entertain you. As for my sources, they're in the description. If you're asking exactly which NPC's, cutscenes, book pages and more that I gain everything I know from, I'm sorry. I'd be at my desk all day cataloguing an entire video game with every video I make. The best I can do is ask that you trust me to follow the information presented to me as best I can. I only know as much as I'm given, if the game/books are vague on something, I must be as well. If they state a fact, I try to reinforce it. I'm only one man in a world were continuity errors do exist, and I'm bound to cross a line here and there. But I truly do love this world. As such I will always try to represent its lore to the best of my ability, and in a way that doesn't compromise my enjoyment in making these lectures. Ever Reading, Synodic Scribe
Krile and Galuf aren't the only ones. But the friends of Galuf and the other founders of the Students of Baldesion are modeled after the other three Warrors of Dawn. 'Dorgann Klauser', 'Xezat Surgate', and the Lupin 'Kelger Vlondette'. All three of these last names being referred to in names of locations on the Isle of Val. Just like the Warriors of Dawn in FFV, the four founders sealed a great danger leaving it for the future generation to deal with it. Where it was Exdeath in FFV, in FFXIV it was Eureka.
When you explain it, this is actually a really interesting and cool narrative...unfortunately it's the presentation in the game that makes it so looked over.
ive been listening to your vids for the past few days and they are very interesting to listen to. By any chance are planning on doing videos for the Hrothgar, Viera and Padjal races?
I'll cover the Padjal once I start writing my script on Gridania. As for the Viera, I've little to nothing on them so I need to wait on a publication to go into great detail. Hrothgar are in a similar boat, if I start talking about them now I'd mostly be talking about Bozja instead of the species.
I'm worried that eventually it's gonna be too hard to do eureka when people move on from it. Most the other content has ways of drawing people back to it like roulettes and stuff but with eureka it might just go dead.
@@consimjim8271 not with this huge wave of new players. Discord is where to go to find fellow adventurers who want to do eureka. Theres many ppl who still want to do eureka because of the relics and emotes that drop from it.
Is there any possible ways to cleanse all primals including Eureka of the corruption that the Ascians put into them? If there is, then the world would be much safer.
The Ascian's didn't 'put' corrupting influences into them. They simply taught people a way to summon that gave primals a thirst for power through tempering. However, even without that influence, Primal summoning would remain forbidden because of the amount of aether a Primal's existence drains from the world.
Eureka is so odd as primal it’s really terrifying, while hearing your description of it I couldn’t help but think of SCPs and the monstrosities there lol
RIGHT?!
I remember my friend theorized Eureka was used in creating the zantetsuken and thusly the first odin
What’s shocking even more so is that you mentioned, while Eureka itself cannot cause harm, the artifacts it creates are in essence lesser primals by immediately tempering the user who interacts with them. It’s horrifying that someone’s positive motivations or ambitions can be used to deadly consequences
Oh my goodness listening to you tell this story had me inconsolable . I felt so bad for everyone that couldn’t make it out…
Good thing while we were on Eureka we made a sht ton of Eureka weapons! What could possibly go wrong
Love this. In my opinion the story of euteka, might be one of the most underrated part of 14’s lore and world. Btw do you think that you will a lore of the samurai on day?
Oh I'm covering all the jobs eventually. It just takes time since Catti needs to work on multiple pictures per Job video.
@@SynodicScribe yay😁
Wow, I can't believe this wasn't required content... or that my student friends didn't give me the details.

now that I finally understand the story behind eureka, I ache to go on a field trip there and complete it >O
It's a grind, but one that I found to be worth while!
I was just thinking about asking if you could cover this the other day! This is great :D
Oh wow so, basically Odin's existence is due to Eureka :O

Never unterstand the Story of eureka. Thx for Recaping it. 😍
You're very welcome!
And now Krile has found her calling.
Ah thank you. I don't think I'll ever get to this myself now that there's no real point to do it outside of story and some collectables
It's still a wonderful story and you get a cool mount out of the deal! But I understand. Eureka can be a grind even on the best days.
I know Eureka is one big fan service like thing for FFXI players, but I am curious if Absolute Virtue was created from some trace of memory from the 11th Shard (assumed to be FFXI's location)

I could, if that's something y'all want. But I wont have nearly as much data to play with than I did for this video. haha
You reminded me of something:
I NEED TO FINISH EUREKA. *groan* :(
