  • In this video, I run through the process of replacing the worn disc brake pads on my Sram Force brake caliper that came with Sram Force AXS equipped Pivot Vault bicycle. The process is essentially the same as any road, gravel, MTB, or CX setup.

Do you know if the Shimano pads with the fins would work with this caliper?

No, Shimano and SRAM pads are not interchangeable.

Any tips on getting a road disc rear wheel out of the bike ?

Yes, I've got a few. The main one is shift to the small cog if possible before removing the wheel. Most road disc rear wheels these days are using a through axle design, which is new technology for a lot of folks.
I tend to take this for granted and should have included wheel removal and reinstallation in the video. I'll make another video on the process soon, plus some things I've learned on some of the additional maintenance required with through axle designs.
Thank you for the question! I think this is great topic to share some acquired knowledge!

      @@JoeyMesa Thanks for the reply
Getting the rear derailleur to move and allow the wheel to drop out is a fiddly process. Any tips here?

Looks like you were replacing two different pads. One had the pin at the end and the other was in the center... they are not interchangeable.
