This was originally just going to be a temporary thing when they shut down the cable cars for a couple of years to rebuild the system. Mainly aimed at tourists. But it was so popular they kept it around and expanded it,
At first I was confused to see a TTC streetcar in this video, but then I learned that the F market line has cars from all over the world, interesting🙂.
Took at least a couple of rides along this line when visiting San Francisco last month! While San Francisco is justly famed for its cable cars, these old streetcars are just as fun to ride!
6:00 That's the first time i've heard a PCC streetcar use its horn! 7:37 that's my favorite PCC car on this system! The one in Kansas City cream and black! There's also a Kansas City PCC on dsplay in the River Market (next to the current streetcar line), and one in the Illinois Railway museum! You cahught the Mexico City car 9number 1072) quite a few times in this video!
Hey I recognise the orange and cream livery of the Boston Elevated Railway / MTA / MBTA, the red and cream livery of the Toronto Transit Commission, and if I'm not mistaken, the two-tone green of an earlier paint scheme of the SF Municipal Railway. Even as late as the 1970s I saw the orange and cream livery on many of the MBTA's Green Line PCC trolleys.
Hello Tim! I see now you're in San Francisco! How I envy your ability to travel all around the globe!!! Excellent film as usual Thank you so much for your efforts and sharing with us the results. I enjoyed it very much I'm always so very interested of all kinds of public transport during the olden days. Take care, Tim, and keep well! :-)
You did a fantastic job! The Heritage Streetcars were parts of my childhood while I was a little girl in the 1970s. You may feel free to relate your channel to mine, if you'd like.

It's a big shame New York City doesn't have any street cars, After all, there are other cities that still have street cars like Boston, Philadelphia, as well as San Francisco. New York used to have lots of street cars back then, but not anymore.
The second trolley pole is used when the operator runs the car in reverse using a control stand hidden behind a seat cushion at the rear of the car. This is used when reversing the car direction using a wye.
I loved the PCC cars, a classic design that never gets old.
San Francisco has some pretty cool historic streetcars that are still in service.
I Love The TTC one
They've done a great job preserving those old Milan cars.

Yep, they accept streetcar donations from around the world, then fully restore and put them in service.
WOW, San Francisco has an old TTC streetcar - it looks like a million dollars! Great video!
Amazing Streetcars in San Francisco.
Those oldies are simply fabulous!
Молодцы, что сохранили!

They're so comfortable - like riding on a giant sofa.
Красавцы!

I have a question, though. Do you have to pay a premium for the 'privelige' of riding those beautiful cars?
No. Same rate as any Muni bus or LRV.
For what reasons do the uni-directional cars have two trolleys?
No, I mean the trolley poles.
The second one using when a car going backwards

@@stupidvoiceofreason in toronto we can reverse fine with the one pole
@@alexi-divasskinner960 that's good
💚👍👍👍
I see E Line trains too
Bigger and faster than those in Melbourne.!
Зачем им два пантографа?
Вячеслав Несынов не пантографа а штанги, по одной на каждую сторону движения вагона
