- Players... you'll get better from practicing change of speed moves and creating finishing advantages more than stepbacks and James Harden style flashy moves.. that's 100% the truth!!
The goal of my channel is to teach realistic, fundamental, team-focused, skill-building, winning basketball. The goal of my channel is to help players learn the game and get better.

Zion & AD on the same team lol? it’s Julius Randle great breakdown btw
I was like huh 🤣
Something I wanna point out in Dame's pauses off the ball screen is that he's reading 1) the defender who's trying to cover - whether he's trying to cut him off on the strong side or preventing him from snaking the screen; and 2) he's reading the help in the backend to see whether he's in position to collapse on him. Depending on if that help comes over, that'll allow him to decide whether he should pass to the weakside corner for the 3.
Agreed with your point around 5:00 where Dame attacked AD at the top and Nurkic was essentially in the way. In the context of their offence though, they typically like to do a two on-ball screens or some sort of DHOs to initiate Dame to attack, a lot of times that's how he gets the threes off.
Another thing I noticed is at 10:58 on Dame's dribble shimmy move, he's reading whether there's help (which there was none in time) so he knows no one's gonna be in time to contest. Secondly, his defender - as Nurkic approaches Dame's right side - the defender's left foot moves up ever so slightly to try to ice Dame towards the baseline; however, Nurkic's man isn't in position to really shade that area to prevent the baseline drive or Dame going middle. From the dame's defender's perspective, imo I think that he needed to play Dame a little bit more flat so that he can cover him if he drives baseline and give room for his pick and roll defender to hedge if Dame goes middle. At that point, Dame would probably try a bounce pass to Nurkic as he slips the screen, the cavs player with the yellow shoes close to the basket would rotate over to help if Nurkic's initial defender hedges too aggressively putting himself out of position.
Saved this for later , please do one for cp3 or kemba scoring! Thank you
Thanks for the treat Coach! I appreciate it!
Appreciate the breakdowns bro looking forward to watching more of your vids
Excited for this one 👀
coach u seem like u really dont like james harden 😂😂😂awsome breakdown tho!!thnx coach
@@coachnatehartman tru..got a point
Learning a lot from this channel. Thanks.
Ur so underrated like great vid help a lot😀
Lowkey just found this channel saw a few videos. You have alot of good content. I will definitely share with everyone
Thanks coach!!
hey coach I love these point guard series and how your key points are very fundamental based (don't work on james harden step-backs and do straight line finishes instead). can't wait too see more!
This really is amazing thank you
Thank you sir for your work 😊
Love these videos its helping me see the game in a different way for the better. Wondering later on if you could do Chris Paul I've always thought he was a very intelligent player who knows how to get all of his teammates involved.
Thank you!
Thank you for showing the hip attack,I use to suck at it,and I’ve heard that Dame is amazing at this
thanks really helped!
⌚⌚⌚ yessir!!
So helpfull. Could u do a devin booker file session???? Unless u have some other ones coming
Really helpful. coach can you a Kyrie film study especially his midrange game I am trying to learn the midrange game even though now is all 3.
I use it a lot...most effective move
Ill be here
I like his range and his scoring he can score anywhere
Hello Mr. Mason. Would you mind making videos about Spurs ball movement ?
11:05 i think thats called a "hip crank" where we open up the hips for short time to confuse D kinda stuff!
@@coachnatehartman thnx coach!
can you do some content on eric gordon scoring and finishing?
Damn I model my game after James harden, Donavan Mitchell and dame the way they get down hill and then to stop on a dime or change direction so effortlessly to create space off the step back or a drag dribble to be effortless and efficient in the pick and roll these are all great players and to a certain degree they all have a similar play style it’s not bad that younger players want to mimic James harden he’s a great point guard and a brilliant offensive mind but that’s just my opinion🤷🏿♂️
Did you change your insta name cause I want the workout
10:42 Its called a smitty
Can you do a film study on Tony Parker that’s someone I can compare my game to
Mason Waters do you also advise players to study NBA Players who play a different position then you as well or is it best to just study players who play the same position as you?
Mason Waters Thanks for the Advice I appreciate it
I Loved The Breakdown. But I Think You Should Use A Different Video To Critique Hardens Game 🤷🏾♂️.
He’s The Best Scorer In The Game. If Not One Of The Best
@@coachnatehartman big agree, you can't jump to the advance levels without mastering the fundamental moves first.
He’s not someone to study because most of his stuff you can’t even use
Damian lillard plays basketball the super smart way.
I have a game tonight
Thats julius randle myguy i thought it was zion too but realize zion and AD didnt play with each other
I don’t believe no banana cuts because basketball is played with curved angles
Curvilinear angles
@@coachnatehartman yeah I would say I straight line but lots of times you have you have to make a curved angle to get by the defender I wouldn’t say it’s a banana cut but more like curve with low acceleration
4.38 that is not zion
Damn, you hate Harden's game style. Me too.
Only reason why I’m not a big fan is he dribbles and doesn’t play real basketball always complaining he’s not a role model for kids
😂 ad was traded so Zion could get drafted
That’s not Zion
just because there is a name to a move doesn't mean it teaches you how to act like James harden. out of context
this guy hates james harden every video I watch he tell us how to not be like him
Because he’s not showing a good example for people learning ball
