I found my Wa-Lolita dream dress and I can’t stop yapping about it.
European and Japanese culture, art and fashion exchange during the Meiji era that I mention goes by the term “Japonisme” and you can find links to the pages where I borrowed the photos and learn a little more. I did a whole presentation about the cultural exchange and impact on art and fashion in college for one of my art classes it was incredibly fascinating.

Congrats on securing your dream dress! Meta’s Wa pieces are so gorgeous! I really need to pick another one up since I sold the one I had a few years back lol.

All my wa pieces are from Meta. I also own the Kimono Print Crossover Front JSK (but mine's the one with the pink bow) and the same colorway of the Kimono Print High Waist JSK. I'm happy they are both my preferred cut and colorway.
My Beauties of Nature Pleated JSK is great, but I did not realize how much the placement of a graphic on the bodice would end up REALLY bothering me when I wear it. I'll sometimes look around for one with the pattern in a different spot, wondering if I ought to actually buy another to then sell the one I have.
Then my Flower Dance for Vulnerable Beauty A-line OP (seriously, these names) is basically a sack dress. I wore it to a party and was asked out by someone who had a crush on me for several months.
