Yes I know! The language is so beautiful...but its sung in speed and sometimes you have to choose what and how to portray the meaning. Its part of the challenge! I love it 😊 I tried using the hand gesture (hasta) of fragrance but the body I have moved it mildly to indicate melting. I know its tough to see because of how fast that movement goes by. I also appreciate you writing this down...helps people understand the beauty of the language better!🙏🏻

Thank you. Mime or in other words 'Abhinaya' is an integral part of Bharatanatyam and when performed by itself is termed as 'Nritya'. In a world filled with just fast paced footwork, poses and movement, I felt the urge to focus on the tranquility of pure abhinaya.

Thank you! You can start at any age...however old or young you are. 15 is not late at all. I have students who have started at 40 and 50. You should definitely start and do whatever you feel like doing...dance should instill happiness..not the feeling of low...don't think of others..do what makes you happy. Pros are that you will understand concepts faster, cons are that you may take more time to get the concepts in your body
hi sukanya, good very good effort. i do not understand the language. but cud of course understand quite a bit thru the dance. what does nadhiyae mean? i understood it as river. and there are a lot of similarities between a woman and a river, to my eyes and heart. and i have used this in one of my dance productions, narmada. if nadhiyae means river, then your lovely video should have been shot on a river bank....not on the beach. it would make a lot more sense. but if nadhiyae means water then its wonderful.

I would have also preferred to shoot in a river bank but this was a research project of a friend of mine, thus had a time and location restriction. Unfortunately we dont have rivers nearby and could not afford to travel in the time available. I would very much love to watch your narmada.
