- Yuk teman teman kita belajar cara memelihara kelomang darat :
Kelomang darat memiliki umur yg panjang,kurang lebih 40thn dan bahkan bisa sampai 70thn lebih.
Memelihara kelomang tidaklah sulit dan juga tidak butuh biaya besar, sebaiknya kita menyiapkan kandang (carabitat) sebelum memelihara kelomang,supaya ketika kelomang datang bisa terhidar dari stres akibat perjalanan dan faktor2 lain..

@@aerop6716 Sometimes they will eat parts of their shells for nutrients and thanks to the paint, it’s most likely gonna die from that hellhole of a lifestyle.
@@yaboibuggles8188 damn I’ve always seen them at pet stores and having owned other pets more complicated than dogs or cats (reptiles and amphibians) I’ve known they’re greatly under cared for but I didn’t know that, how unfortunate
I had two when I was a kid. Ordered them from the back of a comic book. They came in a little cardboard happy meal type box with lettuce and other greens. Named one Trucker and one Charlie.
Thought Charlie died once. Cried for a while. Then picked up his shell and another crab in side. He molted. Pretty cool. Trucker disappeared one day and a week later we found his shell in the bathroom next to a gap in the wall trim. I guess his shell wouldnt fit but he was determined to go in so he left his shell behind. Cant remember what happened to Charlie. I did win most exotic pet at the fair with Charlie.
Wow. One hell of a story! Trucker just made your whole ass house his new shell or that's what I'd like to think. 😂
Although really neat, those shells look like a plastic replica. The crabs need to living shells due to the nutrients they soak in from their bodies. These probably don't ventilate well either and could cause harmful growths....get them big guys some natural shells.
If this was completely 10000000% true his hermits wouldn't be that size, those sizes are from proper nourishment and proper environment which I'm probably guessing you accidentally killed your pet hermits because you forgot to fill their moisture sponge when you bought it at the beach, calm down animal planet and think before you comment because gawd damn you have no real factual evidence.
The Kermit Is Looking Very Healthy, And There's Ventilation, and most kermit wouldn't survive until that stage of live. And I don't think there's natural shells for it, I mean, you give them some coconut shells.
Well they seems very healthy judging by their size, there probably is big room to grow inside that artificial tortoise shell.
@@nightstepstation7189 you realize that the crabs change shells through out their lives and have most likely just recently been put in those shells?
They don’t stay in the same shell, they change it to whatever they can find in the wilds also these are home grown so they are getting the nutrition that they need. So ease up there keyboard warrior.

I have hermit crabs a couple of times and they were always much smaller always watch them trying to see when they would change shells because they always like to change into a different shell but I never did catch one doing that I guess they do it in the dark

I mean, I would think a 3d print would be lighter and more humane than sculpting the shell spiral into a dead tortoise/box turtle.
@@TheMorbidHobbiest hermit crabs chip and eat they’re shells over time, 3D print (unnatural) could be highly toxic to them.
@@jiminslostjams9819 Those are non-toxic filament and are not that fragile. In fact they are very tough, and those hermits won't be able to chew on them.

I have one before when i were kid. It was big and red. Actually pretty strange as my crab would gone somewhere and will be found by me later. Seem he/she was life by him/her own

How do I get my hermit crab to go into a new shell??? We have tried introducing so many different ones but he wants none of them.. his shell now doesn't even cover his body... All his legs and claws stick out.
Just give them a new shell but the size have to more big. Put inside at ur hermit crab but the hole shell must to see. If ur hermit crab like the new home, the hermit crab will change in new shell, I ever do that and it works. I'm Sorry if my english is not to good.
A little more than what you ask but just making sure your pets are happy n healthy lol.
You don’t want the shell to be to big so make it a little bigger than his current shell, some suggest putting around 3 different sized shells in at the same time. I would suggest using un-painted and un-polished turbo shells because they chip at and eat they’re shells over time and the paint it toxic along with the polish, the circular hole is also a much more comfortable fit on they’re body and they’re claws can block the hole much easier. Try to avoid any shells with oval openings or unnecessary spikes as it can make it much harder for them to pick up and maneuver around things. If you don’t already, make sure you have a salt water bowl and a fresh water bowl that they can fully submerge in and get out of, hermit crabs keep a certain amount of each in they’re shell to help with humidity. Don’t use any sponges or anything in they’re water, it can grow mold and is unnecessary. Most food at pet stores for hermit crabs is actually bad for them as in it doesn’t really have any nutritional value other than keeping them alive . I got my 3 hermit crabs while visiting the ocean and at the time I didn’t realize all the cruelty they go through, so thankful I did my research that day because a lady I bought extra painted shells from told me you could feed them cat food😨 and since then they’ve gone from grey to bright purple and red and those extra shells along with the ones they were wearing sit on my boyfriends moms bookshelves lol
@@jiminslostjams9819 yayy! Thank you for rescuing those crabby it's my dream to one day set up a hermit crab sanctuary at the beaches to rescue the hermit crabs from parents that bought into the beach bullshit and realized hermit crabs are gunna be WAY to much work for their infant
We grabbed two of ours at the beach after I told the fiance no hermit crabs.... then I saw a kid doing a full circle with that shit "tank" that was literally the size of the hermit crab and my heart broke so we saved 2
@@steve_the_springtails the only problem with that is that you’re funding the worst people. It’s like when people rescue dogs from puppy mills in pet stores. Lovely idea, but when pet stores sell a puppy, they go back to the puppy mill to replace them. The best thing to do is to leave them, as heartbreaking as it may be, because if no one buys them, the puppy mills shut down because they can’t sell them. Same with the horrific people harvesting wild hermit crabs from the ocean - they put them in painted shells, give terrible feeding advice and every time they sell one, it’s back to the sea side to poach more crabs to sell to people. Supply and demand. It saves the animal you buy, but it perpetuates the Cycle, sadly, and people who genuinely love and care for them, like you, are the backbone of their business. So unfair that these people can do this
