Just a recommendation on the Chatelaine, they usually have a crystal in the center, I stitch an arrow in that area so I know which way is up when I pull it out to work on.
Oh wow, butter rum. That was the best flavor in the double box. Your mom packs a fantastic advent box. I had to stop the video twice, once to go to Amazon for the national parks book and the second to see the ornament longer. I am a long time quilter. That ornament is impressive. Thanks for sharing your box with us.
Glad you are feeling better. I consider myself hexed😂 come on Jen, not it out of the park!👏🏻 Would a light going over with a soft lead pencil on the overlap rows help at all? What I wouldn’t give for a Mum who cross stitched too.🥰
It's great you have such a lovely stitching Mom to give you the best stitchy gifts. I too prefer the gray page overlap on patterns. It helps so much with the page transitions. 🎉Happy New Year's! 🎉
Wow that Book of Lifesavers sure brings back a lot of memories for me when I was a child. No one around my area sells those anymore. I am so glad that your Mom found that for you. Your Mom is a fantastic finisher. You are so lucky that she does that for you. Happy Stitching.
My late MIL used to always buy the Life Savers book for my husband's Christmas stocking. I kept up the tradition every year until this year when I couldn't find the hard candy one and had to get the gummy version instead. Turns out he likes those better anyway, haha!
So good to see you again sweetheart. Love you all your projects as always. You get so much done. Can’t wait to see what you get done next year. Happy New Year and happy stitching ❤️
Your Mom is such an enabler ❤😂 She is also a talented finisher. I love it. I miss the butter rum too. I loved receiving my lifesaver book❤❤Great video😊🌺🌸🌺 Peggy
Those are my favorite needle threaders. I buy them by the big bag and have them in all my projects. They seem to last a long time. Usually the only time I lose one is one the cats throw them on the floor and the dogs chew them up. I believe it is a game the animals have going to watch me search for all the broken pieces.
'Comes with everything, including the' ... price 🤣🤣🤣🤣 The small moose kit in your advent calendar 🫣. Woopsie. 🤣🤣 i've done that before. Lots of times. Great advent box. Your mum seems pretty awesome. Totally agree about the Chatelaine conversion. It will look amazing, and no one will notice! Happy stitching 🪡🧵🐈🐈⬛ love the kitties. I say that every time. They are gorgeous, though.
Thanks for sharing your advent box. It was fun seeing all the goodies your mom got you. I too loved butter rum lifesavers. They just don't make those lifesaver books the way they used to. Enjoy all your stitchy goodies!
For the one on the perforated paper, I agree with you that the falling snow looks like crap. So don’t do it, I think the piece will look good with just the fallen snow.
I had a thought about the technical stitches pieces, if there aren't any that are close to a finish, you could pick one that you want to get more stitches on. Or take one of the ones you want to get to the 1% (maybe the one that has a lot to go?) and put your technical stitching. Dog had more zoomies again!
So glad to see you feeling better! That advent box was super awesome. Your mother's finishing skills are top notch! Loved your Gloriana rant 🤣 I wouldn't mind a conversion vid if you're up to it. Also, sorry the dog went to jail, but I'm rooting for the cat to be the first one around, cuz that's my token! Go Team Cat!
I got those Lifesavers books when I was a kid too! I loved them! Last year my friend got me a roll of Butter Rum lifesavers and they were still amazing! Where did mom get the knifey kitty needleminders? Also, WHEN IS MOM GOING TO BE ON HERE WITH YOU?!?!?!?
I will have to ask her where she got them, I didn’t see a shop name on the package. And idk if she will ever be on with me, she’s never been a fan of being in videos or photos 😂
Goodness, I’ve never known someone to roll so many doubles! I’m doing my first chatelaine this year. I had chosen one but was too scared to start so I decided to join the chatelaine SAL that is starting so that I can do a small one with support first. I’m also joining the Jenn’s Mom Fan Club. 😊
caught a virus from my 3yo nephew at Christmas, my brother hosted, and didn't tell anyone that little one had been sick the entire week before.....I only found out when I asked why he wasn't eating any lunch. My brother said oh he was sick all last week and he's just now getting over it. I fell ill on Friday night, and was on couch the entire weekend and I'm having to take a sick day today as well. The point of this....was I was remembering when I was a kid, and a sick day meant getting to watch Price is Right on TV. Now a sick day means getting to watch flosstube and the stock market, and I kinda chuckled at myself. I've been watching your wip parade and flosstube while laying on couch. Thanks for keeping me company and trying to keep my mind off how awful I feel!
Mannnnnn….ive gotten sick from little family members (besides my kids) and it is so freaking annoying! Keep your kids away from me when they are sick! 😂 I’m glad I could keep you company while you’re down with the sickness and I hope you recover quickly! Side note, I loved watching Price is Right when I was sick too 😆
@jennthecaffeinatedcrafter5679 thank you, still got whatever this is, probably the flu, have to go back to work, this sucks. I am working from home, so that's good. So ready for this to be done, been sick for almost a week
When it comes to charts with no overlap, I take photos of the 2 edges and draw colored dots on for landmarks on the 10x10 grid (green, red, pink, orange, blue), or make a collage to line the edges up. I agree, no overlap is extremely annoying. For the mill hill kit, substitute the stitches for white beads? My monopoly is on hold. I’m trying to finish a dimensions kit to free up the frame for a new project. I agree on the project bag parades…I appreciate the bags, but I don’t need a rundown of them all the time. Great, you love bags from (seamstress), but that makes a video twice as long. Some of us don’t have the $30+ per bag disposable income to match our projects to bags, and just see dollar signs flowing from the bags. At Walmart, you occasionally can find a giant bag of buttered rum lifesavers, all individually wrapped. 😁 Your mom is a talented seamstress. I picked up a chart last year, didn’t check the floss list…all glorianas, including different “weights”. Well everything can be subbed, except for 1 which is so unique and amazing. So I called every needlework store I could think of, nobody has it, hardly anyone even carries this particular weight, let alone color. So I’m debating special ordering it through a local store which stocks the weight, but decided to email the designer asking where to source the silk. They replied and (not getting my hopes up…stuff happens) said they would mail me a skein! So if I actually receive it I will start the chart. I was expecting a list of dmcs to fussy stitch the silk areas, or a shop to order from. (Or my having to special order and hoping the shop doesn’t end up with a bunch of stuff that doesn’t sell after I get my 1 skein.)
That’s a great idea to solve the overlap problem, thanks!! I will probably do beads for the snow in the mill hill but I will save it for last while I think about it. And I hope that designer actually sends the floss that would be great!!
On that Holiday Quaker, you should totally go to the one to the lower left of the first motif you finished (the one in the upper left start), so it'd be like a diagonal. I keep forgetting when I want to look ahead for my projected temperatures. (I want to stitch the number of the degrees, like if it's 83 degrees, then I'd stitch 83 stitches.) So I've just been taking the "easy" way out and giving myself penalty stitches of 100 each for the low and high for the day. So between that and the dog, it's adding up. Lol I have not been able to catch up yet, but that's because I finished my HAED SAL piece and then have been trying to get a bunch of hand knitted socks done. I have 3 more size 12 socks and another half of a size 7 sock to go. Whew!
You might want to check your math on 3 Bird Watchers. The total and amount remaining only add up to 2911, not 3100 on your whiteboard. I absolutely love all of your projects. I enjoy watching to see what project will come up next.
Not sure, i literally just looked at a picture of the Gloriana online, dug through my stash to find something similar, then if I didn’t have it I went on 123stitch and scrolled through photos of dinky dyes, Caron waterlilies, and classic colorworks till I found something similar
Martina was designing without today's technology. But what she has designed is sophisticated, beautiful and unique. I bought paper first and it was shocking. I than bought pdf and used Adobe to enlarge on my tablet and work from there in color. Enlarging the paper pattern does not work. And loading it to pattern keeper could be very difficult. At ECC you can order thread packs and skip glorina. She does not supply dmc. She has bead packs as well. Also listed beads need to be sourced they are delicas in varying sizes. Just a recommendation on the Chatelaine, they usually have a crystal in the center, I stitch an arrow in that area so I know which way is up when I pull it out to work on.
That’s a fabulous idea, bc I was planning on blocking out the center for the crystal anyway!!
Oh wow, butter rum. That was the best flavor in the double box. Your mom packs a fantastic advent box. Your mom rocks!! That advent box is so cool. Thanks for sharing. Glad to see an appearance from Mr Whiskers this video too 😊
Glad you are feeling better.

What a big boy Mr Whiskers is! I'm enjoying watching your stitches progress and your mom's finishes are awesome.

What?! No butter rum??😢😢 Those were always my favorites too!
She said she had to go to a few places to find them, I didn’t even see them when I was shopping myself!
My late MIL used to always buy the Life Savers book for my husband's Christmas stocking. I kept up the tradition every year until this year when I couldn't find the hard candy one and had to get the gummy version instead. Turns out he likes those better anyway, haha!

Love your progress on your wips. You are so lucky to have a mom like this, her finished pieces are incredible. Happy stitching!
Your Mom is such an enabler ❤😂 She is also a talented finisher. I love it. I miss the butter rum too. I loved receiving my lifesaver book❤❤Great video😊🌺🌸🌺 Peggy

Thanks! Yeah we don’t care about the price tags when it’s stuff for us, only when it’s for other people, so I didn’t pay no mind to it lol
Great gifts from your Mom. Love the tshirt
Glad to see you appear much better (kids, sharing isn't always caring). Please tell your mom I think she's amazing. 😊🇳🇿

Use white beads with crystal Fireline.
Patience to stab something 4000 times... Jen "hold my beer" 🤣
You get so much done in a week!!!!
Idk how I do it 😂😂😂🤦♀️🤦♀️
Your mom is incredible!!

That’s a good idea, I might do that until I get the 2k goals done on the temps bc there’s a few of them that would be close to a finish by then!

I think I might do one next weekend when the kids are gone! I converted every Gloriana I needed for the middle section 😂😂

You are blessed to have such a wonderful relationship with your mother! Do any of the other silks have a Gloriana conversion?
Not sure, i literally just looked at a picture of the Gloriana online, dug through my stash to find something similar, then if I didn’t have it I went on 123stitch and scrolled through photos of dinky dyes, Caron waterlilies, and classic colorworks till I found something similar

Shark Stitcher and Pharm Stitcher have done several Chatelaines.
I have done Poison Garden, and I'm working on Fairy Flora. Robin
I will pull out my own “A Whole Lot of Latte” to stitch on in solidarity, please, don’t put a hex on me 😇. Love your videos! ❤
💜💜💜
I can't believe how much extra stitching you have done since you completed your challenge with Alirra ( sp. ?).
Your mom is fantastic
Tell your cats I say hi!
