The Elders discuss ‘Conflict, Dialogue and Peace’ at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (2014)

Panel discussion with The Elders: Mr Kofi Annan, President Jimmy Carter, President Mary Robinson and Ms Hina Jilani.
Hosted by the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies on 29th May 2014 in the Sheldonian Theatre, the panel was chaired by the Centre’s Director, Dr Farhan Nizami. Other Elders present at the event included President Martti Ahtisaari and Ms Ela Bhatt.
Discussing ‘Conflict, Dialogue and Peace: Speaking Truth to Power’, the Elders addressed such themes as how to resolve conflict and advance human rights, the role of women in peacebuilding, and the importance of creating a just and inclusive global community.
