Actually with how classic cartoons used to nearly copy-paste character archetypes, it makes perfect sense to me that Hilda and Mortimer (two individuals involved with witchcraft, astrology and demonic whatnot) would have the classic witchy nose at the height of their power
Here's an alternate take on Mortimer's Tarot card attack that I think makes more sense. Mortimer is telling the cups their fortune. With the sun card, he's telling them how great it is to have Ms. Chalice join them on their adventure. With the moon card, they're unknowingly Chef Saltbaker's minions. Attacking everyone on the island and stealing the ingredients for the Wondertart for him. And finally, the three swords. Which tells them that Chef Saltbaker's playing the cups for saps. Intending to use a living soul as the secret ingredient and try to kill the other two cups! Personally, I think Mortimer Freeze is more benevolent than the theories in this video make him out to be.
If we use the traditional format of one card for the past, one for the present and one for the future, I reckon the moon would be the past (representing the cups’ experiences fighting everyone in isles 1-3 and in hell since you could argue there are themes of deception there, but it’s also possible to be about how you’re deceived when talking to saltbaker for the first time). The sun is the present (things are going well and there’s hope for the future of ms chalice) and the 3 of swords is of the future, where saltbaker betrays them. A fundamentally sorrowful experience could be either describing the past or the future, however, but the moon can’t be the future card because by then there won’t be any deception anymore
Remember that during Mortimer’s third phase, he is simply still just “inside” the snowflake just as he was the snow golem. When he throws the buckets at you, he’s summoning them with his own two arms as he’s piloting essentially this frozen “mech” of sorts. I always thought it was interesting that mortimer never actually has the ability to change form, he just plays dress-up for the whole fight.
I'd like to think that in reality there isn't a snow cult- instead Mortimer's just insane yet lonely so to compensate for his crippling loneliness, he MADE every cult member. Considering his second phase, it's not exactly too far off. Not to mention just how in his losing screen of the first phase- "It'll be a warm December before I let you be a member"- it implies that he won't LET people join the cult. Why though? Well because he thinks actual people are probably going to backstab him That's just my theory tho

The way I see it, you're one of three thing, Earthbound, Semi-Astral, or an Astral being. Characters like Cuphead and Mugman, are Earthbound, as they're obviously very alive, however like Ms.Chalice, upon death their souls move into the Astral plane. They can "return" and interact with Earthbound beings, but ultimately can't do much besides move physical objects or get parried. Semi-Astral beings are characters like Hilda Berg and Ol' Mortimer here. They draw power from the Astral Plane, giving them abilities that are unlike anything an Earthbound being could hope to achieve. For the most part, they're simply stronger Earthbound beings. Finally, there's Astral Beings, such as the Phantom Express, and The Devil himself. These beings either live withn, or draw extreme power from the Astral Plane. Being an Astral being allows you to return to a physical form, or possibly grant yourself one, however this is only if you're strong enough to draw such power from the Astral Plane. Personally, I see the reason Saltbaker wanting to gain Astral powers, is to become immortal, however the reason he chooses to be immortal, is to maintain his title as Greatest Chef in all the Land, with the Wondertart becoming his sole reason to keep the role, while functioning as his Magnum Opus as well. That's just a theory though...a CUPHEAD theory! Thanks for reading
Djimmi also heavily uses Astral Plane powers as well, and with the ability to grant wishes, he’s one of the most powerful Cuphead characters, only rivaled by the Devil.
Beppi maybe ties into this as his area could be his own domain. It seems HE is controlling the park to attack you like calling the cart, and even the final phase turning into that carousel thing. It seems due to the carnival being his domain, he can control it. It's more lair stuff like how villains can control the lair to fight the hero(es).
@@cooper9617Maybe it was already his. I mean- The Devil doesn't really give a shit about you unless you *specifically gamble* your soul away to him. In the games at least.
There’s something I didn’t notice about Mortimers fight up until I saw this video. Before Mortimer swings the whale out of his hat, You could see that there’s a bunch of stars across its back. I’m not sure if this is a constellation or if it’s just randomly placed stars but… I thought it was worth the mention.
But Hilda seems to lose control of whatever magic she’s using when she becomes the moon. I don’t think Hilda has any major connection to Mortimer. Hilda is thought to be a meteorologist on Inkwell Isle but what if while studying the weather and the stars, she discovered the means to use astral magic(her zodiac forms)?
the noise from when you approach the igloo could be mortimer's megaphone as in calling out things, since the place we fight in looks like a gladiator arena
though there are a few stretches, its still somewhat interesting though if Mortimer does want to control the astral plane, I imagine its as a way to make inkwell isles have eternal winter, since it is a snow cult after all
I'm not sure whether or not this has to do with Mortimer, but his snowflake form kinda looks like Cryogonal from Pokémon, which is pretty much a sentient snowflake with crystal chains coming from its lower half and are used as arms of sorts, just like Mortimer does in this form
I feel like there's a connection between Werner Werman and the Howling Aces. Mostly Because the Bulldog pilot in the first phase uses a cat that looks exactly like Katzenwagen from Werner's Final phase. Perhaps Werner and The Howling aces were at war with each other, then Werner signed his soul away so he could fight the howling aces with the very cats they used again't him. Since Werner and his battle have lots of references to War and also that Werner speaks German, and the Howling Aces look like a military army... (this is a bit of a stretch) but this could have been 'WW1' in the 'CUPHEAD' universe. (or not I'm probably stupid) (Also LOVE YOUR CONTENT! ❤ ❤ ❤
Your not stupid dont belittle yourself like that. I think your idea is actually really smart and clever. I can definetly see this being true. Even if were just two random people on te internet who dont know each other. I would like you to now that you seem like a very nice person. 😁
That sound coming from the outside could be Mortimer speaking to the cult, along with howling wind. As for the tarot cards, I personally think they're describing the cups journey in this dlc, the sun representing new friends, the moon representing saltbakers hidden agenda, and the 3 of swords representing his betrayal and how chalice can't actually come back permanently.
With the Snow Cult, I feel like it's not just over-board speculation, but you're missing some obvious details: 1.) The Cult looks less like what we'd now associate with a cult and more like a silly secret society, ala the Royal Order of the Corn. 2.) The theme of the location is The Arctic, the "Land of the Midnight Sun." The whale is connected to the Arctic, PS.
The buckets kind of feel to me like those plastic ones you'd bring to the beach to build sandcastles. My first idea was that they're a symbol from before the beginning of the cult - when Mortimer decided to build a person out of sand/snow and became inspired to learn ice magic and make it alive. So I guess it sort of symbolizes a vestigial origin of life for the snowmen.
So, the moon at 7:51 in Beppi the Clown's stage looks conspicuously like the snowflake mask in the background through most of Mortimer's fight. Maybe he's also using some degree of astral plane trickery in his fight? His final transformation is very dramatically different from his main form, and doesn't really draw upon the balloon motif that he's got going on, kind of like how Hilda Berg doesn't use constellations for her last dramatic transformation.
I think she has some form of cosmic power... Also Hilda's final form definitely has more power, she could easily beat Mortimer's final form in a fight.
2:19 I think its either the crowd of Snow people getting hype for the fight, as the area looks similar to a colosseum, or its some sort of cult séance Something else interesting is how similar Mortimer and Hilda really are Both have long noses, both have a pointy headpiece (Hilda's weather vane, and Mortimer's hat), both are rotund in their first phase (Not counting Hilda's Intro appearance) also this may be a stretch, but Hilda gets yellow eyes like Mortimer when in a constellation phase You should also take into consideration that maybe Mortimer fully made the cult, we see him make ice shards that attack you, and the snow golem appears not to be alive until Mortimer goes inside him He's also fine in the credits after being destroyed Mortimer may be able to make snowpeople, so maybe they aren't exactly being used against their will, and they were purposely made to help him in his cult
Here's something i found: Did you know the stars on the back of the Whale Mortimer pulls out are actually the star alignments for a Whale in the stars.
Could also be one of them cults that produce stuff. With the sugar being what you get from them it might be a special type of sugar made from the Astral plain.
It a wonder why you didn't said anything about the night time on the battle of Pear Lap. Additionally, In my opinion the decoration in the middle of the arena is definitely Sun. The sound you hear when you go close to the arena is the sound of the cult leader and the members, according to the wiki.
Moonshine Mob lore could be interesting, with the implication of prohibition, and how the flies in Clip Joint Calamity resemble the thugs working under the spider.
Hilda Berg is totally the most dangerous character in Cuphead, not only is she one of maybe 3? pre-DLC bosses who manipulate the Astral Plane (Djimmi and the Devil) she seems to be more adept than either. I'm wearing this tinfoil hat to my grave.
The sound outside of the level definitely sounds like chanting of some sort. And the 3 of swords card seems to me like your theory of the snowmen coming together to become the snow golem was true. That card could symbolize that the cult members end up turning themselves into weapons for Mortimer to achieve his ultimate goal of ascension.
Some good ideas, and I agree - while you may not have landed on it with this theory, there is definitely an overarching "mystery" story that MDHR has crafted that is going on between the bosses, waiting to be uncovered.
I think something to keep in mind is that all the base game bosses had at some point made a deal that caused their soul debt. Admittedly these debts could have been caused by nearly anything, although we have to keep in mind that each debitter managed to escape the devil's initial attempt to claim their soul. Its an interesting little mystery box of potential for them.
Saying that deltarune has no lore at all is pretty odd though considering there’s actually quite a lot, considering undertale lore and deltarune lore are basically one set or lore.
I personally think that the sounds coming from the area on the map is some form of a ritual happening, I think it would make sense considering Mortimer’s stage is a cult like area.
Was gonna say myself, it sounds like some kind of chant the snowmen in the background are doing for some ritual inside. Who knows, maybe we’re interrupting them mid-ritual? That would be a cool explanation for the fight- at least I think so anyway.
I usually just go by the Casino Cups, (fan comic), version of Hilda Bergs story. If you haven’t read that part of the comic, I shall enlighten you. Hilda was a pilot who was paralyzed in a crash and she made a deal with the Devil to and the Devil quotes, “Get her back into the sky no matter what.”, so he got creative and turned her into a mechanical being with the ability to take many forms including a moon.
Actually the whale is supposed to be a constellation based on the real life constellation called Cetus, in another part of history it’s just called a sea monster but in English is just a whale.
The pattern on the whale’s back resembles Cetus, a constellation seen in December and looks like a whale. While this is a cool Easter egg it can also tie into Hilda who also uses constellations.
The swords are a reference to Darkstalkers it's one of the characters Hsien-Ko attacks the creators of Cuphead are huge fighting game fans there's tons of references from character designs to boss quotes
I'm still wondering on how Ms. Chalice is alive in the post credit scene- Cuphead and Mugman are still there, how's she still there if you still need the Astral cookie to summon her after the end?
Mortimer is by far my favourite boss in the game even though I like most of them I really loved all of his phases and animations and the fact that he is a cult leader and has followers cheering for him is funny and I love the arena and the music as well
I see Chef Saltbaker’s future in the cards! First, all goes well, the quest for the Wondertart, then Chef Saltbaker is not what he seems, and then he loses his bakery, which was sad for him!
The stars on the whales back are very similar to the constellation "Cetus" it might just be a coincidence, but this further connects Mortimer with Hilda berg.
Maybe Hilda Berg is ex-member of the cult or she is the sister of Mortimer. And that sounds are sounds of Mortimer betraying the victim or sounds of sacrifice.
These videos are what Game Theory should've done on Cuphead. There is so much lore potential with the show and DLC now, and Matpat isn't covering it. And what we did get was a Moonshine theory that has basically been confirmed false with the Show and the Moonshine Mob.
THEORY: THE ASTRAL PLANE IS CONNECTED TO OUIJA BOARDS?? I've been watching a lot of the astral plane related stuff lately and I'm still very confused so I'll probably re-watch them. But a certain thought went through my head while watching these. And it may not be relevant but I still want to mention it anyways cause I see some similarities. I'll set this up in multiple parts, I really think this may be connected and if you do to consider liking it so other people know this. I don't know if anybody else has noticed this but why is the astral plane giving ouija board vibes? Just think about it 1.So if you look at the top of a ouija board there is a sun and a moon. The sun represents good and the moon represents evil. And isn't that pretty much what the cards represent in Mortimer's fight? Good and evil/deception? Also the moon on the ouija board looks similar to the moon in Mortimer's fight. 2.Another thing to mention is what Ouija boards are used for. They are used to contact spirits and sometimes end up contacting demons, in some horror movies. It also acts as a portal to our world. And isn't the Astral Plane connected to spirits and how they can enter our world and the Astral Plane? 3. Another thing to mention is that the portals that Chalice makes from the Astral Plane are in the shape of a circle(oval) and in the middle of the planchette there is a circle that Also Ouija boards are just related to Occults. So let's talk about the planchette (I suck at spelling) So the planchette is in the shape of a heart and one of Ms.Chalice's super arts summons a heart. It may not be relative but still. Something that is very important to mention though is that sometimes the planchette is depicted with an eye on it. Some planchettes even has stars on them to! And by now we know how lots of the eyes have reference to the Astral Plane. All I'm saying is that there are lots of similarities between Ouija boards and the Astral Plane lore and theories.
I don't think the snowmen have a will of their own. I thought the whole point was that he calls it a cult but in reality it's just one person with a bunch of snow puppets. mortimer is basically alone with an army of snowmen that he has created and also has control of via ice magic. he makes them cheer when he does something cool, and he uses the big one to power himself up for the fight. at least that was the vibe I was getting from this and I heard other people say the same thing when they played the game. if not it will stay as my headcanon because I think it's funny
Honestly, yeah, I love lore in games, and when games have bits that just feel too connected, I theorize a lot too, so yeah dude, what you’re speaking of is a mood
2 things that I found. First the star pattern on the back of the whale is a constellation that is supposed to be a whale called Cetus which ties back to the Hilda berg theory. And the sound on the main map sounds like a chant in Latin which I roughly translated to “we guard the realm for us to live”. So yeah that’s my theory.
I'm guessing that Mortimer Freeze's final form is Him fighting alongside the otherworldly being that the cult worships. I personally call this entity the "Cold Sun" because He is the cold yet sunny counterpart to Hilda Berg's moon form. My theory is that the snowman exploding was required to summon the Cold Sun.
During cult indoctrination, they have a step where they show punishment or “withhold the prize” which is what the swords represent. The sun is the prize, the moon is the leader, and the swords are the punishment. This means that if someone goes against the cult, they are given the punishment (here quite literally with three swords), showing how the player is in the wrong (through the cults eyes) because they will never get the prize. I think it’s intentional that the thing they’re being promised, a sun, is what would kill the whole snow cult, due to melting. Maybe this is sort of the same type of thing as the ascension types of cult that causes dozens and sometimes even hundreds of people to die.
As a freemason, a few things stood out to me about this snow cult. 1.) The buckets they are wearing may resemble fezzes that The Shriners wear, which is a subset of freemasons. 2.) The Sun, Moon, and Swords have heavy symbology in Freemasonry. Without having to go deeper by what I mean, I recommend you look more into that. 3.) Probably the weaker of the few, but Mortimer appears to be more of a Grand Master of this cult. It would kinda make sense given that he’s a wizard. Like I said, it’s definitely weaker compared to my two previous observation, but it’s still food for thought.
having used to work with witches, tarot cards aren't really a ritual item. candles anointed while intention setting, a jar with various symbolic and literal ingredients being buried in a cemetary, using gestures and words to invoke (bringing an entity, diety, etc into your body) or evoke (call on their power without using your body as a vessel), those are more ritual-type things
In the bebi fight there is a moon in the background that looks like the frozen over moon in the snow cult scuffle fight. Not sure what that means but just thought I would put it out there
One thing I noticed is all the people that Chef asks you to take ingredients from are possibly bad people. A cult, military (war crimes), a wanted bandit, a mafia and then there’s that giant which was a gold mine for greedy elf’s.
I’d assume the sound that you hear near the igloo is Mortimer Freeze preaching to his cult followers. You can tell it has that muffled, condescending, 1930s speech talk that’s impossible to make out.

*Giygas intensifies*
@@cheatcode436 not that Earthbound chump
Djimmi also heavily uses Astral Plane powers as well, and with the ability to grant wishes, he’s one of the most powerful Cuphead characters, only rivaled by the Devil.
Beppi maybe ties into this as his area could be his own domain. It seems HE is controlling the park to attack you like calling the cart, and even the final phase turning into that carousel thing. It seems due to the carnival being his domain, he can control it. It's more lair stuff like how villains can control the lair to fight the hero(es).
Yeah that might have been why he signed his contract. To take control of the park making it his or to be a famous clown.
@@cooper9617 Probably, yeah
@@cooper9617Maybe it was already his. I mean- The Devil doesn't really give a shit about you unless you *specifically gamble* your soul away to him. In the games at least.
There’s something I didn’t notice about Mortimers fight up until I saw this video.
Before Mortimer swings the whale out of his hat, You could see that there’s a bunch of stars across its back. I’m not sure if this is a constellation or if it’s just randomly placed stars but… I thought it was worth the mention.
Howling Aces are overrated, I'm majorly surprised Mortimer isn't more popular, great vid btw
But Hilda seems to lose control of whatever magic she’s using when she becomes the moon. I don’t think Hilda has any major connection to Mortimer. Hilda is thought to be a meteorologist on Inkwell Isle but what if while studying the weather and the stars, she discovered the means to use astral magic(her zodiac forms)?
the noise from when you approach the igloo could be mortimer's megaphone as in calling out things, since the place we fight in looks like a gladiator arena
though there are a few stretches, its still somewhat interesting
though if Mortimer does want to control the astral plane, I imagine its as a way to make inkwell isles have eternal winter, since it is a snow cult after all
I think the sounds are the crowd cheering on mortimer as he defeats a gladiator. ( I think the map is a colloseum)
hmmm thats a cool idea
I'm not sure whether or not this has to do with Mortimer, but his snowflake form kinda looks like Cryogonal from Pokémon, which is pretty much a sentient snowflake with crystal chains coming from its lower half and are used as arms of sorts, just like Mortimer does in this form
Coulb be a reference to it but who knows
@@Kyumifun hopefully, Cryogonal is very cool (pun not intended)
I mean the pokemon has a relatively simple design, I think saying they're related might be a bit of a stretch
(or not I'm probably stupid)
(Also LOVE YOUR CONTENT! ❤ ❤ ❤
This man is a genius
There were no planes in ww1 though
Your not stupid dont belittle yourself like that. I think your idea is actually really smart and clever. I can definetly see this being true. Even if were just two random people on te internet who dont know each other. I would like you to now that you seem like a very nice person. 😁
@S de Koning alt 🤡🤡🤡🤡
@@Judge_0f_EverythingSorry i dont understand?
That sound coming from the outside could be Mortimer speaking to the cult, along with howling wind. As for the tarot cards, I personally think they're describing the cups journey in this dlc, the sun representing new friends, the moon representing saltbakers hidden agenda, and the 3 of swords representing his betrayal and how chalice can't actually come back permanently.
2:16 they might be the cult's sound because many snowmans can be seen in mortimer freeze map
With the Snow Cult, I feel like it's not just over-board speculation, but you're missing some obvious details:
1.) The Cult looks less like what we'd now associate with a cult and more like a silly secret society, ala the Royal Order of the Corn.
That sound is probably Mortimer just giving a good ol’ fashioned cult speech.
Nah it's "bro you saw who won the football" "uhhhh yeah?" "You lost the bet where's the money" "shoot" *runs* away
During the Mortimer fight, you can hear noises from the cult followers. These are the noises that you can hear when you walk to the boss fight.
Both do seem to resemble astral body's. However mortimer's final form seems to be more artificial unlike Hilda's final form
hilda's final form is literally mechanical
I think she has some form of cosmic power... Also Hilda's final form definitely has more power, she could easily beat Mortimer's final form in a fight.
missed opportunity to make the title "mortimer freeze lore is cold"
damn actually goes hard
2:19 I think its either the crowd of Snow people getting hype for the fight, as the area looks similar to a colosseum, or its some sort of cult séance
Something else interesting is how similar Mortimer and Hilda really are
Both have long noses, both have a pointy headpiece (Hilda's weather vane, and Mortimer's hat), both are rotund in their first phase (Not counting Hilda's Intro appearance) also this may be a stretch, but Hilda gets yellow eyes like Mortimer when in a constellation phase
You should also take into consideration that maybe Mortimer fully made the cult, we see him make ice shards that attack you, and the snow golem appears not to be alive until Mortimer goes inside him
He's also fine in the credits after being destroyed
Mortimer may be able to make snowpeople, so maybe they aren't exactly being used against their will, and they were purposely made to help him in his cult
The unusual sound when you get close to the “arena” is the crowd
The sound outside of the level definitely sounds like chanting of some sort. And the 3 of swords card seems to me like your theory of the snowmen coming together to become the snow golem was true. That card could symbolize that the cult members end up turning themselves into weapons for Mortimer to achieve his ultimate goal of ascension.
Some good ideas, and I agree - while you may not have landed on it with this theory, there is definitely an overarching "mystery" story that MDHR has crafted that is going on between the bosses, waiting to be uncovered.
I just thought Mortimer was lonely and built lots of snowmen to join his snow cult
As a massive Undertale fan, I can confirm the fandom is pretty cult-like in parts.
ALL HALE FUNNI SKELTON MAN
Saying that deltarune has no lore at all is pretty odd though considering there’s actually quite a lot, considering undertale lore and deltarune lore are basically one set or lore.
The sound at the part when you enter snow cult scuffle might be chef salt baker laughing.
As a DnD player that joke towards the end was so true.
Another fun thing with the theory is that his name is Mortimer Freeze, and Mort is Death in Latin, maybe they sacrifice Mortimer?
I usually just go by the Casino Cups, (fan comic), version of Hilda Bergs story. If you haven’t read that part of the comic, I shall enlighten you. Hilda was a pilot who was paralyzed in a crash and she made a deal with the Devil to and the Devil quotes, “Get her back into the sky no matter what.”, so he got creative and turned her into a mechanical being with the ability to take many forms including a moon.
2:14 I think it’s Mortimer shouting to his followers about.. idk cult stuff.
The astral plain and cult theory for Mortimer freeze actually makes a lot of sense. Great video again, pogobro!
Mdhr: haha cartoons weird and funny turn into giant moon
Cuphead fans: deepest lore, truly a masterpeice of worldbuilding
It’s all cycle I tell you
Actually the whale is supposed to be a constellation based on the real life constellation called Cetus, in another part of history it’s just called a sea monster but in English is just a whale.
8:28 every random theory ever explained in 10 seconds
I must say, you put a lot of effort into these lore videos. Keep up the good work.
thanks! they are really fun to make :D
Theory: Hilda is just Mortimer's daughter.
The pattern on the whale’s back resembles Cetus, a constellation seen in December and looks like a whale. While this is a cool Easter egg it can also tie into Hilda who also uses constellations.
This was so random but well made so thank you
The noise you hear in the lobby is Mortimer announcing the tournament.
The swords are a reference to Darkstalkers it's one of the characters Hsien-Ko attacks the creators of Cuphead are huge fighting game fans there's tons of references from character designs to boss quotes
I'm still wondering on how Ms. Chalice is alive in the post credit scene-
Cuphead and Mugman are still there, how's she still there if you still need the Astral cookie to summon her after the end?
Mortimer is by far my favourite boss in the game even though I like most of them I really loved all of his phases and animations and the fact that he is a cult leader and has followers cheering for him is funny and I love the arena and the music as well
I see Chef Saltbaker’s future in the cards! First, all goes well, the quest for the Wondertart, then Chef Saltbaker is not what he seems, and then he loses his bakery, which was sad for him!
It went from Mortimer Freeze lore is insane to Mortimer freeze lore is cool to Mortimer freeze lore is dark
yeah I dont really know how to title videos as you can tell
I pre ordered Cult of the Lamb. Cannot wait.
Can he beat Goku though?
Music alone is amazing
I can
Good for me
The three swords mean betrayal btw and the stars on the whale is the whale constellation
0:44 Oh come on. *you know why*
I understood that reference.
6:01 What about Beppi the clown his whole fight is at night and doesn't coralate with spirits, snowflakes, tarot cards, or anything astral related.
are you sure about that? ;)
@@Pogobro I'm pretty confident but I'm open on being proven wrong😉
This comment was beautifullu fertile soil.
Did this guy just say that deltarune doesn’t have much lore
The stars on the whales back are very similar to the constellation "Cetus" it might just be a coincidence, but this further connects Mortimer with Hilda berg.
The noise I think is Mortimer freeze blowing ice? But that’s a theory a GAME THEORY
And what we did get was a Moonshine theory that has basically been confirmed false with the Show and the Moonshine Mob.
well sadly I dont have the team and money that mattpatt does but I am trying my best!
What moonshine theory?
I think the things you hear at the egg glue is mortimer freeze Laughing when he hears about 3 cups trying to take his sugar cubes
Just think about it
1.So if you look at the top of a ouija board there is a sun and a moon.
I’m sure the bucket posters are probably frozen treats
How did I just realize that Mortimer is one of the first bosses showed before 2022?
So yeah that’s my theory.
that sound is a sermon shouted through speakers
I know this has pretty Much nothing to do with the video, but thanks for using my screenshot showing that boss is underrated!
the image was sent to me via dms, where did you post it?

0:09Lol, that got me bad.
The humor in this video is very mossbag-esque. Really enjoyed it!
that is a huge compliment thanks!
I think the creepy noise when you get there is Mortimer freeze laughing
having used to work with witches, tarot cards aren't really a ritual item. candles anointed while intention setting, a jar with various symbolic and literal ingredients being buried in a cemetary, using gestures and words to invoke (bringing an entity, diety, etc into your body) or evoke (call on their power without using your body as a vessel), those are more ritual-type things
2:18 those are probably the snow cult cheering on a fight
In the bebi fight there is a moon in the background that looks like the frozen over moon in the snow cult scuffle fight. Not sure what that means but just thought I would put it out there
7:05 in fact Mortimer becomes a sort of a ghost before the ice-cream attacks, maybe it's just an illusion or something, but who knows...
One thing I noticed is all the people that Chef asks you to take ingredients from are possibly bad people. A cult, military (war crimes), a wanted bandit, a mafia and then there’s that giant which was a gold mine for greedy elf’s.
Beppi, huh? What if he represents the fool?
I think the sound was either chanting or laughing
Here's a thought, as the invincibility super says that you cross the astral plane might explain why chalice's roll makes her invincible for a second
“There isn’t really much lore at all” shows deltarune, a game with super deep, dark, intricate lore
exposed
I’d assume the sound that you hear near the igloo is Mortimer Freeze preaching to his cult followers. You can tell it has that muffled, condescending, 1930s speech talk that’s impossible to make out.
