It's definitely part of the game. Growing a thick skin is one thing, but for UA-cam comments you almost have to grow armor. I used to respond to the nastiest comments and most of the time the person will say something like, "Oh man, I didn't think you'd respond, cool." Almost like some just do it as a hail mary to get attention. However, others will dig in and drag you into their depths. This is a scary place that you rarely reason your way out of. I quit responding the day a guy threatened my life, just isn't worth it.
Enjoy seeing something from you. Always liked your guitar review clips when I was starting out. I am a hack Strummer who picked up a guitar after retirement. Having a great time with it though. I hope you are enjoying your move "back home". Hope to see more. Agree with your assessment on this one.
criticism is a reality for anyone in the public eye whether you're a politician, entertainer/celebrity, or YTuber. There will always be some degree of negative criticism here, because the platform encourages viewer participation with opinions and comments. I guess negative comments are normal if they are given with relevance and rational, but nasty ones are just immature. The communications protocol of the internet (TCP/IP) is only some 40yrs old. Generations need time to evolve and integrate appropriately into new modes of communication. Much of this is a question of simply growing up over time
