Learn about HTML elements and attributes - HTML and CSS tutorial. In this HTML tutorial you will learn about HTML elements and attributes, which are the HTML tags we used in the previous episode. 00:51 Tags let the parser know when to start and stop interpreting an element. If the element cannot be applied to content, like in the case of a line break, it is considered a void element and the tag will be self-closing. In other words, an element only needs opening and closing tags in order to flank and affect content.

It'll show on web page(as it is part of body tag)

Note: style is part of CSS, we'll learn ahead.

Trying to understand this: how come you can add css code (attributes) inside the tag without having to use css brackets } as one would usualy do to style?

Hi mmtuts, When I tapped on the enter key to show the hierarchy, my tags did not move like yours, instead it eliminated some of the tags. When you say tap, do you mean enter? Or can you tell me what I did differently?

change in code in atom is not showing on my web page. in body ! i wrote hello world and it was shown on my web page at google but when i changed the statement to "hey world" it didnt show on the web page even after refreshing the page . its still the same Hello world . please tell me how can i solve this issue because im new to coding
My guess is that you have the wrong file open in your browser, or you forgot to save your file.
Sometimes CSS takes a minute or so to change since the browser saves the styling in its cache, but this isn’t a problem when it comes to HTML. So if you have the correct HTML file open, and you remembered to save it, then you should see the change immediately.
Oh and btw, just so you know it going forward. HTML is a markup language and CSS is a styling language. They are not programming languages 🙂

For whatever reason, whenever I try to add style="color:red;", there's just a > that gets added to the paragraph I made.. hmmm I guess I finally realize what the coders on reddit complain about whenever they have an error in their code lol!
