To those who gave a negative review of this ABBA Voyage release.. it's not about whether it's good or bad. this new album by ABBA is their gift to their fans and to the world. this is their last album.. their last songs. we have to just say Thank You Abba for giving us this wonderful gift. i love everything about this album but the most special to me is that ABBA gave us one more album with 10 new songs to add to our ABBA playlist. Thank You ABBA!
I’m so happy that I get to experience ABBA being active again. Last time was in the 70’s-80’s. My parents would talk about it all the time, what it was like when they dropped a new song, and I thought that I would never get to experience that amazing feeling, but here we are. I’m so proud of them, and I wish them all the best!❤️
Was pleasantly surprised listening to this track. Didn't expect this from ABBA 40 years later but it's a good song and it certainly has a nostalgic feel to it.
I think we can characterise it as a Celtic folks song which will appeal to many here in the UK and Ireland and also in Scandinavia. It's also a nod to Arrival as it once again uses bagpipes (or the Nordic equivalent), but this time it's more of an upbeat number - In short, it's a happy song that'll makes you want to smile and dance!
I really like it. The album sounds just like the Abba we know, of course people will have songs they prefer, but they are not being "too modern" /not trying to follow a trend, They just stick to Their sound and what works for them.
I have always loved Abba. I have a DVD of their best videos in my house and I love all their songs. I was literally brought up with Abba amd for context I am 14, not a Gen X’er so it is kinda crazy that I am into them. I was into them even before I knew they won Eurovision too, I was into them since I was around 3-4, so I was a fan for over half my life, way longer than I have been into Eurovision for (since the start of Coronavirus last year). This song is just so grand and it is such a mood.
It was actually Australia and the Mamma Mia video that really launched them. People thought that they were an one hit wonder after Eurovision. This new song was interesting, it has an Irish sound to it. You can tell the maturity they gained since the last album. Still the ladies have their ironic sound.
They began a mature sound with The Visitors album in 1981 and had they finished the album they began recording in 1982 that would have been released in 1983 that would have also had a mature sound.
My thought are this one - One cant expect 70+ to be a hitwonder - I when i were young dismissed all over 30y since thier creativity was dead and so the bands . The song are actaully something Benny could have done with his group BAO or as opera style like Chess - to mellow and serious and the contiunance on adult songs at the end of their career and my opinion is this they should have let Agneta do half of the songs since she can do this if she wants to.
Stop expecting them to cater to your tastes. They have earned the right to make any music they want. Why you people insist on labels and time frames is beyond me. Stop being a follower like a herd of sheep and like what you like and dislike what you dislike. Peer pressure sucks and friends insisting you like and listen to what they do is Bulls---t
Big fan of ABBA since I was a child but to be honest I had the sensation of being listening to a collection of songs they forgot to publish in their albums. A jump into the past. Dunno if it's enough to make me buy the new album.
Let me know your thoughts on the album so far!
The album is stunning! We are blessed to have ABBA in the world.
Listening to this album felt like a hugging a friend I've never seen in years.

That is one of my favorite songs of the new album . classic abba sounds mixed with an irish jig
A really catchy great song. The instrumentation is fantastic. Loved it.

Love Voyage ! love this song !

It's very much Swedish folk song. Benny Andersson has done a lot of folk music since Abba so this is him doing an Abba version :)
@@valandhol9four680 Since when is Kilkenny in Sweden?
@@Nikioko sometimes you pick lyrics to fit a theme, but I still would say this is as much a swedish sounding tune
Have you heard swedish folk music? Very similar to celtic. In this case it's the instruments that make it sound celtic.

Very Celtic, just like Arrival and I love it.

This song is a grower. I didn't like it at first but after a few listens, it has become one of my favourites.
I liked 'When You Danced With Me' as soon I heard it absolutely adore this song one of ABBA's best songs.

Great review. Love it!!
I am so glad the Album contains very little Disco. I like the more Mature sound.
Same.
Whether it's "Voulez vous" or "I wonder" - disco or ballad, most ABBA music is pretty fantastic.

NICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I like all 10 songs from their new album, which is a first. Their 8 other albums not all songs I like

Very old-school? Very Irish, I would say.
I think this would be a better Christmas song than the one they are planning to release Little Things.
This sounds a lot like Blackmore's Night.
:))
